1970 Chevrolet C10 Pickup Short Wheel Base on 2040-cars

Year:1970 Mileage:114500

I bought this truck 6 months ago locally from a friend who intended to restore it and didn't have time. It has been pretty much my daily driver since I bought it. I had in mind doing a restoration and have since decided I don't have the time either. The undercarriage of the truck is sound with the exception of the very tip of the drivers side cab corner brace. It is rusted. Both rocker panels and cab corners are shot as is typical on many of these trucks. It has a two small holes behind the seat where it's rusted through. The floor boards are solid with surface rust only. The bed is about as good as I've seen in an old truck. The tailgate works fine but if I kept it I was gonna replace it because of rust in the bottom. This truck came from the factory without air, PB or PS.  The 307 and the auto transmission and rear end are original and have not been changed The engine to my knowledge was rebuilt a couple of years ago  The truck has new brakes. New tires with less than 1000 miles. It has a new gas tank , new battery ,and a newly rebuilt carb.  The fellow I bought it from put a new dist on it. I have the old one.It starts every time with ease and drives great. It does not smoke or knock  and the transmission shifts very smooth. I have driven it about 2000 miles local around town driving and have put a half a quart of oil in it.  I've set the reserve on this low compared to most I've seen on here . I didn't pay a fortune for it and I'm not trying to hit a home run . Please don't bid if your not serious . I really don't want to do another auction .If you want more pictures of something I missed please e mail or call me. 7312934472.  The winning bidder needs to pay a 500 deposit within 3 business  days of auction close and the balance within a week of receipt of deposit. I accept pay pal or cert funds mailed.  Thank you and good luck

I have decided to lift the reserve altogether. Personally I hate reserve auctions so I will go ahead and trust my gut feeling. When I bought this truck I had never heard the term "patina truck" but several folks I met at a local car show I took it to said it has great potential in that world. In the next day or so I hope to post a link to a YouTube video of this truck running and driving. It runs and drives incredible and turns heads wherever I go.

I'm new to this and just found out that ebay will not let me drop the reserve. So since I don't wish to realist the truck I reduced the reserve to 1501. Reason is that for some reason any change has to be above the highest bid.   I will be posting a link to the video soon. Happy bidding and sorry for the confusion

I've gotten several phone calls asking about the condition of frame and a few other questions. So here's some more info. 1. The main frame under the truck is solid. It has rust on each end of the cab corner Brace and one the horizontal braces under the bed has some rust in it.  2. The shocks and springs are firm!  2 The exhaust is a single with a glass pack muffler. 3 The hubs are 6 lug. 4. All numbers on this truck match. NO swapped engine , transmission or rear end  and it's a factory short wheel base. Not a conversion from long to short 5 The truck has been in w tn it's entire life and up until around a year ago it was a two owner truck. 6. Everything works on this truck accept the radio . 7. I'm no expert but I have had several who are look at it. This truck is not a rust bucket. It has some rust in the usual places but overall I'm told it is above avg for an unmolested 44 year old project truck. 8 it drives  firm and smooth. It tracks down the road well and does not wander all over the place. And lastly again please don't bid if your not serious.  I'm committed to selling for what the market dictates and just don't need the drama of broken promises. Good bidding.

I was just asked about delivery. If your not close and you win this auction I can work a good deal with you on delivery. I'm a pilot and have access to free airline travel. For a reasonable amount I can deliver it to you or meet half way. All I needed is for you to take me to a designated airport serviced by an airlines  where we meet .For pre auction close delivery amounts just e mail me or call.

Sorry so much info but here goes. I'm new to this process having never sold anything before on ebay. I've received multiple calls from folks saying they are  wanting to buy the truck outside of the auction and some of them acting like they will give me more money than the auction will bring .Yea Right!! It turned out that according to a friend they were just pulling my chain and not serious.  Please feel free to call me and ask any question you wish but don't ask me to take the auction down.  It's too late now. I'm committed to sell it to the highest bidder whatever that is. A few final points. 1. In the last year over 1500 dollars worth of necessary new parts have been put on truck. Tires, battery, gas tank, complete new brake system and not just pads, dist, radiator  and rebuilt carb. Good luck!!!!

Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles

Mon, May 13 2024

It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.

First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
