Here is my 1969 C10 short bed. It's got a factory automatic on the column. It also has power disc brakes and a 12 bolt rear with a 373 gear limited slip differential.
I bought this truck 3 years ago and spent that time redoing it. The truck only has 44,000 actual miles. The truck came from Alabama.
It has a 350 with a 350 turbo transmission that has a shift kit with a street fighter stall converter, headers into 2 1/2 exhaust with turbo mufflers. The motor has a new cam, new timing chain, new oil pump, new water pump, new fuel pump, new Edelbrock intake and chrome kit, and a Holley 600 cfm carb, so it's very street friendly.
Now for the rest of the new stuff: Seat, carpet, dash, arm rests, vents, ducts, all seals and rubber kit for door glass and wing windows, all new body bushings, radiator, hoses, headers, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, calipers, drums, rotors, pads, shoes, wheels, tires, exhaust, upper and lower ball joints, and new front and rear bumpers. All hardware on truck was replaced with stainless.
Truck had a sunroof when I bought it. I had to replace it, so this one is brand new.
It's sitting on Cragar SS wheels with 235 75 15s on the front and 15x14s on the rear with Pro Comp street tires (just for looks).
It was painted 7 weeks ago. I spent $6,000 to have the truck painted inside and out. This is the stock color, the only thing I changed was I did not paint the top white. It also has a spray on bed liner tinted to match the truck, so you can't really tell.
Everything works: horn, lights, turn signals, wipers, interior lights, brake lights. Has a factory tach in dash along with alt, oil and temp. The truck never had a radio, the block-off plate is still in the dash.

2022 Genesis GV70, raging at VW ID.4 tech and thoughts on a new Lexus LFA | Autoblog Podcast #696
Fri, Sep 17 2021In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor James Riswick. This week, they talk about driving the Genesis GV70, VW ID.4 and VW Taos. They talk about ways Chevy could "fix" the Camaro. James ranked all the James Bond films based solely on their starring cars. Next, they reach in the mailbag and discuss the question, "Do you think Lexus will make a successor to the LFA and, if so, what do you guys think it would be like?" After ruminating on that query, they dip into the mailbag a second time to recommend a sporty crossover to a listener in this week's Spend My Money segment. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. GM announces net 220 job increase as Trump visits Michigan
Wed, Mar 15 2017GM announced today that about 900 jobs would be added (or, importantly, retained) ahead of President Trump's arrival in Michigan, where he is expected to discuss his plan to roll back fuel economy standards. The timing of the announcement is almost certainly not coincidental, as appending it to a Trump visit gives it a higher profile and dovetails with the President's jobs agenda. It's less likely the decision itself was made for those reasons, but the free PR boost is a nice bonus. As for those 900 jobs themselves, they aren't all new jobs. The only net gain is approximately 220 jobs at the Romulus Powertrain Plant, which produces the 10-speed automatic transmission that's proliferating through the company's lineup. The 180 jobs at Flint Assembly and 500 jobs at Lansing Delta Township are retained jobs – that is to say, spots the company found for workers who would otherwise have been laid off. By the way, the Flint jobs will help with production of heavy-duty pickups, and the Lansing jobs are to produce the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave. Finding jobs for manufacturing workers in the auto sector, whether new or retained, is admirable. No matter how GM couches it, the company has created or retained a total of 7,000 jobs this year, and its total reinvestment in US production is around $1 billion. But these decisions are business ones, not political ones – timing the announcements to make them seem inspired by economic policy, or the political situation, is simply smart PR.
