1968 Chevrolet C-10 Ls 5.3 Swap Conversion C10 4l60e Eaton Rat Rod Shop Truck Nr on 2040-cars
Little Rock, Arkansas, United States
You are bidding on a Clean 1968 Chevrolet C-10 LS5.3 Swap- Very low mile LS 5.3 cable drive mated to 4L60-E transmission.
The LS 5.3 was rebuilt around 5k miles ago and is new from the oil pan up and 4L60e transmission has around 60k miles. PSI Tuned Computer and Harness- Programmed for the wheels and 410 gears Holley 255 fuel pump with Stainless braided lines from fuel cell to engine Cold air intake 2 fan radiator MSD plug wires B&M Megashifter Rear end is 12 bolt Eaton with 410 gears Stainless headers and Flowmaster 2.5in mufflers cut off before the axle 13 gallon fuel cell in bed New front and rear shocks Power steering and Brakes- Disc up front and drums in the rear The body is pretty straight and looks good. There is some rust in the bed and around the drip rail but doesn't bother me enough to fix it.I personally like the old school looks of the rig and enjoy the convenience of getting 20+ Mpg due to the efficiency of fuel injection. You can literally jump in this truck and drive anywhere! Undercarriage has very little surface rust. I took as many pics as I could to show the condition of the truck. Wheels are 20x8 Centerlines and the tires have around 70% tread remaining... Its hard to not put your foot in it. Interior is pretty clean. See pics New Grant steering wheel CD player New battery New seat cover but original has tears and needs to be recovered GPS heads up speedometer- Typically these conversions on Ebay do NOT have a working speedometer and its never mentioned in the auction. These trucks are getting hard to find without spending a fortune and this one is pretty much ready to go. I drive the truck daily and there are no problems to speak of other than the brakes needing to be bled. The engine is new and strong unlike most of the C-10s on Ebay people are selling that have a motor pulled out of an old truck with 100k+ miles on it... I have a new master cylinder that will be included in the auction. I also have a Summit racing tachometer that's included that I haven't had the time to hook up.This is a no reserve auction and will be sold to the highest bidder. I do have the truck for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Please DO NOT BID if you have zero or negative feedback or I will cancel your bid and block you. Please email me or call 501-831-2762 if you have any questions. Buyer is responsible for shipping but I will help with delivery inside 30 miles. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding! |

Best and Worst GM Cars
Thu, Apr 7 2022Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded. While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
GM cutting Chevy Sonic, Buick Verano production [UPDATE]
Sun, Jan 25 2015UPDATE: A previous version of this story indicated that Orion Assembly would be idled for seven weeks, from February 16 through April 6. This was incorrect. The factory will instead only be idled for the weeks of February 16 and April 6. The story has been edited to reflect this. General Motors has announced that the factory responsible for the Buick Verano and Chevrolet Sonic will be idled for the weeks of February 16 and April 6, with blame being placed on excess supply. The Orion Assembly plant, about 45 minutes north of GM's Renaissance Center headquarters, employs about 1,800 people, but they'll be given a pair of furloughs as inventories of the sub-compact Sonic and premium compact Verano reach 127 days and 84 days, respectively. That works out to 26,600 Chevys and 9,800 Buicks waiting for buyers. According to Automotive News, the compact Chevy sales bested the industry average in 2014, jumping up nine percent versus the the overall segment's eight-percent gain, while the Buick sedan's sales were down four percent. When asked about the shutdown, a GM spokesman told AN that it will "build to market demand," while also pointing out that the company did not comment on production plans.
