Up for bid is a 1966 Chevrolet Panel Wagon Truck. I bought this truck in Bald Knob, AR in 2004. I planned to restore this truck but have too many projects and have not had the chance to work on the restoration, so it has been parked since I bought it. I have had a mechanic evaluate the truck. Brakes on two of the wheels are in working order, but two others need to be redone to be functional. Motor is a straight six but does not run, but it did get fire when I first purchased it. Truck was previously used as a painter's truck.
I also have a 1980 GMC pickup that I had planned to use the frame, tires, brakes, and 350 automatic motor in the restoration of this panel truck. I will be open to discussing with you purchasing this truck as well for an additional amount we agree on when you pick up the panel truck. Many parts on this GMC truck are missing - doors, fenders, bed, steering wheel, etc - so this is not a truck that can be driven. I have the title in hand but had never titled it in my name since I planned to salvage certain parts and scrap the rest. I had planned to set the 1966 body down on the GMC truck frame and use it as the drivetrain and scrap the 1966 drivetrain. NOTE: THIS 1980 GMC IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED IN YOUR BID ON THE 1966 PANEL TRUCK. YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO BUY THE 1980 TRUCK, BUT I WILL BE OPEN TO SELLING IT TO YOU FOR AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT WE AGREE ON. If you aren't interested in the 1980 I will salvage a few things from it and scrap it.
The truck will need to be trailered to it's destination. DOES NOT RUN. This truck is bigger than a "normal" truck and barely fits on most car trailers. Buyer is responsible for picking up and transporting the truck. I am in the delivery business, so I will be open to negotiating an additional fee for delivery to the winning bidder. This is not a guarantee for delivery, so do not bid on this truck unless you have discussed delivery with me in advance OR arranged your own pickup of the panel truck.
Payment is due within 7 days of auction end, and before you pickup the truck (or at the time of pickup). I will accept cash and PayPal. If you have any questions about payment please message me.
This truck is located at my in-law's farm in Savannah, TN.

Consumer Reports declares most and least loved cars [w/video]
Wed, Dec 3 2014Consumer Reports is crunching the numbers from its annual owner-satisfaction survey, and part of that process is finding out how attached drivers are to their cars. CR simply asks readers of models up to three years old if they would buy the same vehicle again in light of their entire ownership experience, and tallies the results. After looking at the responses for about 350,000 vehicles, it turns out that people really love a certain California-built, electrically powered luxury sedan. That's right, this year's the overall winner was the Tesla Model S with a whopping 98 percent of owners saying they would purchase another one (the Model S also won this award last year, with 99 percent satisfaction). The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray came in a close second with 95 percent of drivers hoping to park another one in their garage. A few models weren't quite so favored, though. The Nissan Versa Sedan was the least loved model among its owners; a mere 42 percent said that they would purchase another. The aging Jeep Compass didn't do much better, with just 43 percent of drivers willing to buy the softroader again. On average, about 70 percent of owners say they would buy their car again, and only four cars ranked below 50 percent in CR's findings. Check out the video above to see some of the winners and losers in a few of CR's categories. If you're a subscriber, you can check out the full list on its website. Nissan Leaf sales get January jump as Chevy Volt trends downward
Mon, Feb 3 2014The cold January sales dip hit both the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt last month, but when compared 2014 to 2013's first-month-of-the-year sales totals, one of the two early plug-in vehicles obviously came out on top. The top Leaf market also shifted away from Atlanta for the first time in months. Last year, the Leaf sold just 650 units in January, but it managed to move 1,252 last month, a 92.6-percent increase over 2013 but a big drop from the 2,529 sold in December 2013. Paige Presley over at Nissan told AutoblogGreen that the Leaf has now broken sales records for 11 months straight and that, "we see unique seasonality with some December pull-ahead demand based on federal and state tax incentives." The number one Leaf market also shifted away from Atlanta for the first time in months, moving back to San Francisco. That change could be short-lived. "We had some inventory constraint issues early in the month in Atlanta with end-of-year demand depleting stock," Presley said. "By the time we resolved that, the weather hampered sales." There was not as much good news on the Chevrolet front. Last month, the Volt sold 918 units, down from 1,140 in January 2013 and 2,392 in December 2013. It also marks the first time the Volt has sold in the three-digit range since January 2012, when it sold 603 copies. That string of solid months means that the plug-in hybrid has a roughly 12,000-unit lead over the EV since the two cars brought plug-in vehicles back to the mass market all the way back in December 2010. We will have our full report of January's green car sales up soon.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
