1966 Chevrolet C-10 Custom
Introduction
Hello, I’m Marc Schiliro the owner of MS CLASSIC CARS,LLC.  You might recognize my name or my business name from beautiful classic cars and trucks I’ve listed for sale nationally.  I’ve got 15 years of classic car and truck experience.  I’d like to put that experience to work for you. Over the years I’ve featured many classic cars and trucks at multiple different auctions across the United States. I consign multiple classic cars and trucks at all four of the Barrett Jackson auto auctions every year. I’m considered one of the top consignors at Barrett Jackson.  I’ve had many classic cars and trucks sell in the top 25 highest sale priced vehicles for each event.  They’ve also offered some of my cars as the “Marc Schiliro Collection”. I was fortunate to have Speed TV at my new facility for an interview for Barrett Jackson that aired during the Barrett Jackson auto auction in Palm Beach 2012.  I also have had many cars that have been featured in multiple magazines and multiple websites.  I specialize in beautiful classic cars and trucks that have what I call “The Pop Factor”. I purchase classic cars and trucks that are finished, I redesign other people’s restorations and have also coordinated restorations from start to finish.  I’m currently not doing full restorations as it takes too much time and money.  I love what I do and I’m extremely passionate about it!

One year ago I  opened a beautiful new facility located in Seekonk, MA.  MS CLASSIC CARS is open to the public on Saturdays.  We offer about 25 classic cars and trucks for sale. We also offer complete automotive detailing.  Our facility is very neat and organized.  When you call you deal directly with me. I appreciate the opportunity.

Market
I've been collecting classic cars and trucks for over fifteen years now and have seen a lot happen. I've seen the hobby continue to grow not only at the auctions but also with the amount of television shows, magazines and websites that are related to classic cars in some form or another. I strongly believe the classic car market is a great place to invest in. When the economy is strong, the classic car market is extremely strong. When the economy isn't so strong the classic car market holds its own. I've sold classic cars and trucks in both economic conditions. The reason classic cars make such a great investment is because people are crazy about cars, especially the classics! I've learned it's not just the United States; it’s the entire world. Barrett Jackson stated, "Foreigners can sometimes represent 25% of the registered bidders at one of our auctions." At the Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale, AZ 2011 they stated, "There was a registered bidder from every state in the USA.” I've also learned that no matter the gender or age, all different people appreciate this hobby. Another example would be the Barrett Jackson auto auctions; not only do millions of people watch it live on the Speed Channel but hundreds of thousands of people attend these auctions. Every year the attendance of visitors at the event and number of viewers on T.V. increase.

Over the years I've noticed that the extremely detailed classic cars have always commanded a higher price. Even people who don't have any classic car experience can recognize and appreciate attention to detail. Currently the overall market is on the raise once again. Certain classic cars are on the rise and others are on the decline. Typically, the classic cars that are on the rise are the cars that a lot of people don't own. In other words, there are classic cars that haven't saturated the market. The cars that are at every car show and auction and page on the Internet for sale are the ones that aren't changing in value or are slowly on the decline. Of course, if the car is spectacular it will command a higher price as I mentioned. It's all about supply and demand, not a good or bad economy. Custom cars have remained strong because each car is different from the next one. They each have their own character.

“I’m putting my money where my mouth is”

I’m just a 36 year old blue collar guy who was working full time selling new and used Mercedes Benz.  I was selling my classic cars and trucks part time.  Although I had my used car dealers license I didn’t have a facility that was open to the public.  Overall things were going just fine.  However, my dream was to open my own classic car and truck dealership.  I decided to give up my full time job with health insurance and a 401K to open a new classic and truck dealership.  I had to invest a ton of money to make that happen and now have a lot more overhead.  Do you think I would’ve done all that if I didn’t think the classic car and truck market wasn’t going to remain strong?  I consign anywhere from three to eight cars at each Barrett Jackson auto auction at no reserve because I know there’s always going to be bidders for classic cars and trucks.

MS CLASSIC CARS is proud to present a beautiful 1966 Chevrolet C-10 Custom Pickup.  A few months ago I listed a beautiful 1964 Chevrolet C-10 Fleetside Pickup that I had a ton of activity on and sold very quickly.  Ever since I’ve had my eyes open for another.

These trucks are hard to find in nice original restored condition and becoming very desirable among collectors.  How I found this truck you’re about to witness is a funny story.  A local gentleman called me to give this truck a classic truck complete detail which includes everything from top to bottom.  After it was finished I parked it in the showroom and really admired it.  When he came in to pick it up he told me he was going to now take photos and sell it.  Of course I jumped all over it and we made a deal.  He had the truck for a little over a year and put over a thousand miles on it. He’s a very fussy guy and spent a lot of money refreshing the truck since it was restored in the 1990’s.

As the VIN # indicates this truck was built at the factory in Terrytown, NY and is a 1/2 ton longbed with the 127” wheelbase. A breakdown of the VIN # is listed below.  This truck is believed to have 18,926 original miles. Yes, 18,926 original miles!  I have a lot of experience with classic cars and trucks and with all the indicators I think it does have 18,926 original miles.  Some of the indicators are the title reads “actual mileage”, there’s a PA inspection sticker on the windshield from 1977 that reads the VIN # and mileage reading 11,071, the odometer currently reads 18,926 and when it was recently taken apart to repair some things everything inside was original and many things found throughout are in excellent original condition such as the glass and a lot of the interior.

This truck was obviously restored from head to toe but many things were left in original condition. The Service Parts Identification tag is still on the glove box door which is rare.  This tag has the VIN #, paint code and options from the factory.  Listed below is a breakdown of the tag is also listed below.

The exterior is very straight and the gaps are nice.  The hood, doors and tailgate open and close very nicely. The truck was painted in the 1990’s and is very presentable.  It has recently been buffed to a beautiful shine.  If you’re looking for a show quality high end paint job this isn’t for you.  The glass is all original and in great condition.  The windows roll up and down very smoothly. The chrome and stainless trim has all been restored or replaced.  Recently the bumpers, headlights, back up lights and blinkers have been replaced.  The bed was refinished when the truck was restored and still looks great.  The chains on each side of the bed are new.  It has a custom made bedliner that can be taken out at car shows, etc.  It also has a custom made trailer hitch with connecting wires.  This was completely fabricated and is functional.

The truck sits on brand new Uniroyal Cross Country tires that were $818.48.  It has matching black hub caps which look so cool!

The sand interior compliments the exterior perfectly.  A lot of this interior is original and in great condition. It appears such items as the steering wheel, knobs, door panels, seats and E brake handle are original.  I was told even the floor mat is original.  The dash panel and gas tank behind the seat has recently been replaced.  A custom Auto Sound stereo and antenna has also been installed recently.  Everything in the interior works including the cold light that comes on when the truck is first started and cold!  As I mentioned above the Service Parts Identification tag is still on the glove box door and a PA inspection sticker from 1977 is on the windshield.  It even has the original style flashers!

The engine compartment is nicely detailed and houses the 250 CID 6 cyl.  Everything in the engine compartment has been restored or replaced.  The carburetor, radiator, water pump and heater fan have recently been replaced.  This engine starts and runs excellent.  A breakdown of all the engine numbers is also listed below.  The engine is coupled with a column shift 3-speed transmission that shifts smoothly.  The factory HD clutch is easy to use and easy to get familiar with.  The truck originally came with 410 gears but was changed to 308 gears so it can be driven comfortably at all speeds.  The original 410 gears are in a box and are included with the sale of the car!

The undercarriage is nice and presentable.  Everything has been restored or replaced.  Recently these things were replaced; new front and rear brakes, rear suspension, fuel lines, gas tank sending unit and the gear for the speedometer.

This truck is well restored and very original.  It’s perfect for someone who is looking for a nice driver that can be enjoyed and also shown.  The color combination is striking and attracts a lot of attention.  If you’ve been looking to purchase a 1960’s Chevrolet C10 you’ve found the one.  I’ve priced it very competitively and don’t expect it to last.  Get it before someone else does!

Conclusion

Classic cars and trucks make great investments and are extremely fun to own.  It’s so exciting to search for a classic, purchase one and watch it come off the trailer, add your own touches, take it for a ride or just look at it sitting in the garage after a hard day at work.  Classic car and truck collectors aren’t just in the United States but worldwide.  The classic car and truck market is growing every day.  It’s seen at car shows and auctions, in magazines and on TV shows.  Get your new classic car or truck today.  You only live once, if you can afford it, do it!

I do the best I can to represent my classic cars and trucks.  My results, feedback and reputation speak for themselves. Everyone’s opinion of a classic car and truck is different and I encourage questions prior to a purchase. I have a beautiful showroom with excellent lighting and a lift for a complete inspection if requested. Inspections will be scheduled by appointment only.  The closest airport is Providence, RI.  It’s only a 25 minute ride from the dealership.  I can arrange to pick up at the airport.  I also have a dealer plate that would allow for a test drive with a valid driver’s license for a serious buyer.  Please call 508-557-0152 or email for any questions.  Thank you.

                                                                                                                              Sincerely,

Weekly Recap: Racing legend Jim Hall explains Chevy's futuristic Chaparral concept

Sat, Nov 22 2014

"I said our cars are built to be winners." – Jim Hall Racing legend Jim Hall never thought he'd be a video game consultant, but when Chevrolet asked for his advice to create a futuristic Chaparral for the Vision Gran Turismo series, he was eager to help. He reviewed early sketches and suggested some changes that made it onto the concept, including the addition of a camera that's mounted onto a mast over the cabin to aid the driver. The Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept was revealed this week at the Los Angeles Auto Show and will be part of a downloadable update for PlayStation 3's Gran Turismo 6 in December. Theoretically, at least, it uses a laser-beam propulsion system and an air-powered generator to produce 900 horsepower in the video game. It's capable of sprinting to 60 miles per hour in 1.5 seconds en route to a top speed of 240 mph. Those gaudy performance specs – even in the virtual world – came at Hall's urging. "I said our cars are built to be winners," Hall told Autoblog on the floor of the Los Angeles show. The 79-year-old drove Lotus racecars in Formula One before launching the successful Chaparral Cars in the 1960s. Like his innovative Can-Am racers, the Vision Gran Turismo project has an eye toward the future. It also introduces the iconic Chaparral name to a new generation of fans, and hopefully, Hall says, gets them excited about engineering and design. "It emulates what we did in the '60s," he said. And what they did back then still resonates. Chaparral Racing and Chevy partnered more than 45 years ago for development work on the composite monocoque chassis, lightweight alloy powertrains, automatic gearboxes and active aerodynamics. "He [Hall] walked right back into this and was able to apply thinkings and learnings," said Clay Dean, General Motors executive director of advanced design. The Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept was created at GM's North Hollywood advanced design studio, and it will be on display at the show through November. Other News and Views Sebastian Vettel joins Ferrari team in 2015 Ferrari confirmed that four-time Formula One World Champion Sebastian Vettel will join the Scuderia for the 2015 season, jettisoning Ferrari's current ace, two-time champ Fernando Alonso. Vettel has been F1's most successful driver since Michael Schumacher, though he's struggled to match his previous accomplishments in 2014.

2016 Chevy Volt will have more EV range, bigger battery

Tue, Oct 28 2014

Meet the new Volt, not the same as the old Volt. That appears to be the story when General Motors introduces the 2016 Chevy Volt at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Today we're getting some more details on the guts of the new plug-in hybrid, and it turns out they're going to be much improved from the current Volt, which first went on sale at the end of 2010. Sure, the first-gen Volt did get some improvements along the way (a slightly larger battery pack, lane departure warnings) but the new Volt – which will go on sale in the second half of 2015 – marks the first time GM has been able to return to the drawing board and really make the improvements that its customers want. That's how Larry Nitz, GM's executive director of vehicle electrification explained it to AutoblogGreen today when explaining the all-new Voltec extended range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain. "In the Gen 2 is we gave the engine a little more power, a little more torque, a little more displacement, more capability." – Larry Nitz Nitz said that the new Volt will be better in almost every sense: a bigger battery, longer EV-only range, 20 percent better acceleration in the low speed range and higher overall efficiency. This is due, in part, to the Volt's two motors being able to both act as generators and power the car. As we noted this morning, the 2016 Volt will use a larger, 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, a version of which is already used in the Chinese-market Cruze. Nitz said that this has a number of benefits, including more power and quieter operation. "Some people would say, why did you make [the first-gen engine] so big. I would say, why did you make it so small?" he said. "It works good, our customers love it, but the reality is that if you go a little bit off and use the car a little harder, you can get the engine to need to operate at a higher speed. In an EV, that's quite noticeable. So, what we did in the Gen 2 is we gave the engine a little more power, a little more torque, a little more displacement, more capability and what it has marginally enabled is not only is it more efficient but it's also quieter." Nitz wouldn't talk about how the new powertrain might affect the two other products that use the Volt's underpinnings – the Cadillac ELR and the Opel Ampera – but if you've got a quieter option, we assume that's something ELR drivers would enjoy. But that's a story for another day.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
