1962 Chevy C10 Pick Up Restomod 4.6 With Overdrive on 2040-cars

I was asked to relist this truck by a couple of Ebay members who missed the auction but heard of it. I would like to sell it for cash and fund my next project. I do have a local person who has a very interesting trade and some cash for the truck if it does not sell this time. This will be the last time I offer it for sale.

This is my daily driver. I built this truck over the winter to be an old looking truck with newer under pinnings. It is a 1962 Chevy C10  truck on a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis frame and running gear. It looks like a truck but drives like a car. It has a 4.6 Liter ford motor fuel injected with an overdrive transmission. It has coil springs on all four corners and 4 wheel disc brakes. It sounds good and drives down the road nicely.

The body has some putty in it not to fill holes but to smooth it out after some patching with real metal welded in.The body still has imperfections in it so do not expect a high dollar restoration on it. The cab has all new seal and gaskets for the windows. The paint is a base with out the clear so that it will haze and give me that old truck in the sun look. It is not perfect but it sure does turn heads and get thumbs up. It is a good daily driver that you can get on the highway and pass traffic with.

The instrument panel , wiring harness, pedal assembly, and steering column from the car are carefully adapted to fit the truck. Everything on the cluster works as it should and the truck is still scannable for diagnostic under the dash .

There are some things that still need to be addressed:
1) the heater core is disconnected because the core had a hole
2) the defroster vent hose to the windshield  need to be sourced and installed
3) there is no glove box insert
4) the truck needs to be undercoated yet
5) the drivers door needs more adjustment or a new latch ( it shuts but you have to slam it)
6) no seat belts ( did not come from the factory till later years)
7) headlites need to be aimed
8) some sqeaks when driving from drivers door

I am trying to tell you every concern I have with the truck. I have nothing to hide and will really miss driving this truck when she goes. Any questions please call 269-687-8098 I will be happy to answer them

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Question of the Day: What's the most irritating car name?

Wed, Mar 9 2016

You hear a lot about how the Chevrolet Nova was a sales flop in Mexico because "No va" means "it doesn't go" in Spanish; in fact, the Nova sold pretty well south of the border, and in any case most Spanish-speakers know that "Nova" means "new" in Latin and Portuguese. However, General Motors doesn't deserve to be let off the hook for bad car names, because the Oldsmobile Achieva— no doubt inspired by the excruciating "coffee achievers" ads of the 1980s— scrapes the biggest fingernails down the screechiest chalkboard in the US-market car-name world. That is, unless you think Daihatsu's incomprehensible choice of Charade was worse. Meanwhile, Japanese car buyers could get machines with cool names like Mazda Bongo Friendee or Honda Life Dunk. It's just not fair! So, what car name drives you the craziest? Related Video: Auto News Design/Style Chevrolet Honda Mazda Daihatsu Automotive History questions car names
