1960 Chevrolet Apache C-10 Stepside on 2040-cars
Middleton, Idaho, United States
This Truck is in GREAT condition for its age! I bought it from an old guy that had it in his
barn and wanted to fix it up when he retired. RUNS GREAT! Strong compression with no smoke. Original Straight
Six, 235ci. It has a 4 speed transmission. Odometer not connected, stopped at 20,000,
may be 120,000 but the speedometer works for the most part. It has been kept out of the weather for over 20 years. Floorboards solid. It
has been tuned up, I had the oil changed, put in a new battery, put in a new starter,
and replaced a rotted tire. She has some cosmetic rust spots on the
rear fenders as you see in the pictures. Only one spot is rusted through on
the drivers side rear fender. Body is solid & straight except the spots on
the door where the doors opened too wide as the original leather door
restraints inside the door had rotted, therefore not preventing it. Original owner did not like the stock hood and replaced it with a '62 standard C-10 Hood. Interior is
in great shape. Missing original stereo and speakers. Seat has tear from
age & later model seat belts. Has all glass there with only crack in front windshield. White exterior
paint with 70's vinyl graphics. I drive it around and get lots of looks in her
present condition. Fun Truck for someone who wants a good project base or just
a run around truck. She needs a good home! I can't afford to fix her up the way
I want to right now and I don't have a barn to put her in. She is currently in my garage where my SUV
used to park, to keep her out of the weather. Email or call Tim with Questions.

LG Chem's troubled Chevy Volt battery plant hiring once again
Thu, Sep 25 2014The Michigan battery plant known for paying its workers to do nothing has turned things around and is now hiring more workers, specifically to do something. South Korea-based LG Chem, which runs the factory to supply the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle with its lithium-ion batteries, held a job fair recently to bring on 40 new employees in order to meet higher battery demand, according to WZZM, the ABC affiliate for Grand Rapids, MI. The LG Chem factory is in Holland, MI, about 30 miles west of Grand Rapids, and it made its first batteries last year. Prior to that, though, the factory gained notoriety after a US Department of Energy (DOE) probe found that workers there were getting paid to do, well, nothing. That's because demand for the battery packs was so low that it cost less for the plant to sit idle. The DOE was conducting the probe because of its financial grant to LG Chem. But that was then and today is today. LG Chem is looking to ramp up production in advance of the second-generation Volt. That 2016 model-year version is said to have a longer all-electric range and better performance and will ride on a new chassis, but few official details have surfaced. We will know more when we get our first look at the car at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
Chevy gets cracking on Cruze EV fleet testing

The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.
