K5 Blazer Chalet 4x4 On 3/4 Ton Axles, Running Driving Project. California Truck on 2040-cars
Concord, California, United States
You are bidding on a 1977 K5 Blazer with the rare Chalet package. This is an extremely rare truck. The chalet was a factory option and only 1800 of them were ever produced. This truck is not stock. The axles and suspension have been upgraded from 1/2 ton to 3/4 ton from a 1982 3/4 ton truck. The truck was in the process of being restored. The engine runs great it shifts well and 4x4 works. The brakes have been completely replaced with new calipers, rotors, drums pads and brake lines across the rear axle. The only brake component not connected is the park brake cables. The rear driveline has been modified to work with the larger rear axle, not a conversion u-joint.. The interior needs to be freshened up and is still all original (hence the "project")This is a California truck and the body is in very nice shape. There are only minor dings there is a dent on the passenger side front quarter. The paint could be freshened up.The pop up top is functional. This is a solid example with a rock solid body. And seating for six people. It has spent most of its life in Arizona and the last few years in California. It comes with a clean Arizona title and bill of sale. Also included are boxes of new trim pieces and new and used parts. The owner was in the middle of restoring the blazer when he unfortunately was in an automobile accident and died. I am listing the blazer for the family. I have been through the truck and did the work on the brakes, driveline and checked the motor and transmission. I have driven the truck and all lights and dash functions are working. It also has an electric trailer brake controller installed. This is an easy project truck and can be driven at this time. Please pay close attention to the pictures and ask any questions before you bid.

Hot air balloons caught in high winds drag fullsize SUV
Mon, Jul 20 2015A sudden storm front whipped up enough wind to send some hot air balloons flying into the air in Wisconsin over the weekend. One ballon proved so energetic that it was able to drag a fullsize SUV across a field and into a stand of tents. The freak accident occurred at Balloonfest in Waterford, Wisconsin. Spectators were horrified as balloons dragged handlers to the ground and launched with terrified pilots clinging to their baskets. Organizers had started packing up the colorful balloons due to ominous storm clouds when the wind kicked up. "Happened just like that; it was crazy," Nathan Fricke, crew member, told Fox 6. Winds were clocked at 40 to 50 miles per hour. A balloon caught in the wind dragged a large SUV (we think a Suburban or Yukon XL) hundreds of feet and into a cluster of tents on the edge of the staging area where balloons were on display for festival goers. Considering that the SUV surely weighs well over 5,000 pounds, it's lucky that no one was injured in the incident. News Source: Fox6Now Weird Car News Chevrolet GM GMC SUV
GM finds steering flaw, decides it doesn't warrant a recall
Tue, Apr 14 2015Guess what? General Motors is back in the spotlight for not recalling something. This time, though, not only does the company have an argument against a recall campaign, but its position is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to The New York Times, over 50 owners of GM vehicles have reported instances of stuck or seized steering after driving long distances without moving the wheel. One owner complained to NHTSA that the "locked" steering of their 2013 Buick Verano caused a collision with a concrete barrier in a construction zone. Along with the 2013 to 2014 model year Verano sedans, Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu sedans are also affected. Considering the popularity of those models, GM needs to have a reason for not issuing a recall, right? "Based on a very low rate of occurrence – ranging from less than one half to less than two incidents per thousand vehicles – and the fact that the condition is remedied when the wheel is turned, GM determined this was not a safety issue," spokesman Alan Adler told The Times. The company has, however, issued a technical service bulletin for owners that complain of the problem. The fix is nothing more than a software update that is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles from new. NHTSA cited GM's actions, along with descriptions of the problems from customers, in its decision not to issue a recall, with spokeswoman Catherine Howden saying, "the symptoms described would be a brief, perceptible change in steering feel that has little to no effect on the driver's ability to safely steer the vehicle." "When terms like 'notchy,' 'stick,' 'slip' or 'feel' are used, it does not indicate a meaningful increase in steering effort," Howden told The Times via email. What do you think? Is GM in the wrong here? Should there be a recall, or is the issue so limited as to not warrant one? Have your say in Comments. Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
