need money and have to sell my k5. it is in great shape and has zero rust. floors where reinforced at the seat mounts and was sprayed with real rhino lining and not store bought stuff. it is a rear civilian diesel blazer silverado package. it has cruise cold ac power windows and the rear window works too. everything in the truck works all gauges speedo and lights. it runs excellent and startes perfect. i replaced the glow plugs and glow plug controller. it has axles from a cucv military truck with 32000 miles. the front is a dana 60 i installed a locker in it and the 14 bolt rear with locker both with 4.56 gears. the suspension is a diy4x 52" front kit with offroad design cross over steering. the rear is 6" springs from offroad design. the frame was reinforced and braced at the steering box and its a new box for the crossover steering. it has a track bar so it drives great with no wander. the engine runs great with the banks turbo kit. i installed it about 1.5 years ago and it made it much better to drive. wont slow down up hills like it used to and has better getup and go. it gets better mpg too. with the 4.56 gears and the 37x13.50 toyo mt tires the gearing is just right. the speedo reads the right speed. tires are almost new. inside is clean with no tears in the seats and the dash only has 1 real small crack about .75" long. it has diy4x rock sliders to protect the bodyas well. i built this for me to keep and searched for awhile to find a diesel that was not a military truck so i had some comfort but i need to sell it now. i have done a lot more work to it and have recites for most of it. it was always very well maintained.

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
Corvette Stingray Shooting Brake under consideration by Callaway [w/poll]
Mon, 18 Mar 2013Callaway has released a few renderings of a design study for a shooting brake version of the C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. The company says it wants to create a long-roof version of America's sports car to offer buyers more interior room and a vehicle with "unique style." The company says it will use structural carbon fiber for the new body bits, which suggests the conversion shouldn't add too much more weight to the Corvette. Along with a few mechanical tweaks, the Callaway Corvette Stingray AeroWagon could breeze past the 200 miles per hour barrier.
Provided that they get enough interest, Callaway estimates they will be able to effect the changes on the Chevrolet for around $15,000, and says the conversion work should be available through its network of dealers. You can check out the brief press release below for more information, or head over to the Callaway site to plunk down a deposit - but before you do, we want to know... do you find this C7 wagon interesting? Vote in our poll below, then feel free to leave a few lines in Comments.
