FOR SOME REASON I CANNOT CHANGE BLAZER IN TITLE.. THIS IS NOT A BLAZER AND NEVER WAS. THIS IS A S10 Xtreme. What we have here is a Chevy S10 Xtreme 2.2 Liter Stick Shift Base Model. A little history on the vehicle: I bought the vehicle with approximately 50 thousand miles on it from a Virginia seller here on Ebay. The gentleman who owned the vehicle was actually middle aged and was battling cancer. After the pass of this gentleman, the vehicle was left to his elderly neighbor who would not drive a vehicle like this type since she was elderly. I saw the vehicle on Ebay and fell in love with it approximately 10 years ago. I went to Virginia and purchased the vehicle. I have used this vehicle for many years to get through all my years of my college education, started a mobile auto detailing business with this vehicle, and got back and forth to the police academy with this vehicle. Now in my thirties and owning multiple business, and working as a police officer, I have simply acquired way to many vehicles and cannot drive them all. I hate to keep seeing this nice little truck sit and never get used. THIS IS A GREAT LITTLE TRUCK, BUT NOT A PERFECT TRUCK. I am an honest seller and will be as detailed as possible so you as the buyer are fully aware of what the truck is and is not.
As you can see it no longer has the Xtreme body kit on the vehicle. I lowered the truck an additional 2 inches in the front and three in the rear. Once in a white I would scrape the body kit and it would be difficult to get into some steep areas, so therefore I removed the kit. The holes from the kit on the side of the body where welded shut and body work was completed along with paint. As you can see on the rear of the vehicle, the tailgate has been removed and a California type of roll pan/skin was installed. About every two or three years, as you can see in the pictures, the rear needs to be redone. No matter what body shop completes the fix, minor rust spots and cracking occur as you can see.
BODY OF VEHICLE: I would say the body is decent for the year. As you can see there are no major dents or dings and scratches are to a minimal if any. I never liked to park near anyone to avoid the dings and scratches on the vehicle, to body I would say is clean for its age. The hood on the vehicle was replaced and there are some rock chips on the hood and bumper. The hood is a aftermarket hood and there are a couple small dents to the front of the hood that are almost not noticeable. There is some small touch up spots on the body that can be done with some touch up paint, and the rear roll pan area can be fixed. I think for a truck this old with higher mileage, the body is exceptional. As you can see there is a hitch installed on the vehicle with a wiring kit. This was used to pull a small open trailer that had a water tank on it for a detailing business that I still on.
Headlights: Cloudy. I will sand and polish them if the vehicle sells to restore as much clarity as possible.
Bed Cover. Has a bed rug carpet and a soft black bed cover. The bed cover bolt broke, so a new bolt/mechanism will have to be bought and installed if the new owner wants the rear bed cover to lock, but is not needed. The bed cover actually is only a few months ago, but the one peice broke on the cover not allowing me to actually lock it down.
INTERIOR. Missing speaker covers since I always felt that the speakers were compromised of sound from the covers. This vehicle had a rubber floor from the factory and I installed a carpet. I dyed the carpet to make it black and will dye it again for any touch up issues if the vehicle sells. The door panels were also dyed with plastic dye to make them black since they were a dark gray when I got the vehicle. Had a subwoofer in the vehicle, but no longer. Wires are still there along with one amp as you can see which is included. Has a hurt shifter that the first owner installed and stayed in the truck ever since. Minor dash board crack, steering wheel peeling on top (can put steering wheel cover over to hide). Has Chevy caviler seats installed in the vehicle and stock Chevy floor mats.
SUSPENSION: New shocks in the rear, beltech 3 inch drop blocks and 2” drop spindles. Everything else is stock Chevy S10 Xtreme suspension.
Mechanical: A lot of small issues that I KNOW ABOUT AND CAN SEE.
1.ABS light on: I pulled fuse because I hate anti lock brakes. Will re install fuse so light goes off.
2. Oil Pressure Senor. I replaced the sensor and the gauge still goes wacky sometimes. This is my third s10 and they are known to do this. Sometimes reads high, sometimes low, sometimes dead on, really don’t know if I got a defective new sensor or another issues. Been like this for approx 4 years now, just doesn’t bother me.
3. Exhaust : Gibson exhaust cut back for roll pan. Small leak in down pipe of exhaust in which I can get fixed if the vehicle sells. Must allow at least 4 days for me to get this repaired if buyer desires. Leak issue will be fixed at down pipe.
4. Brakes: I feel one brake caliper is beginning to stick when I drive the vehicle. Will replace the bad caliber and replace brake pads if necessary.
5. Underneath. I feel the underneath of the body is in great condition. Appears that a new seal can be put in at the rear diff. I always checked this, and level was always near spot on. Appears that surface rust is on rear diff cover and possible slow leak at bottle of cover, but during oil changes never had issue of extreme low fluid.
6. Steering box. The steering in the wheel had been loose for years now. This is a common Chevy issue again in which I replaced the whole front end. Spline, tie rods, ball joints, link etc, but steering was still sloppy. I believe the steering box is just worn and needs to be replaced. I drove it this way for years because it does not bother me to the extent to replace it. Can be replaced or left alone.
7. Wiring Harness for trailer hitch. Have a new one which will be included in sale. Needs to be replaced because of age if you are going to tow something. If not no replacement is needed. A simple 10 minute install, I just have not done it because I no longer drive the vehicle. 8. Check engine light was on then went off. I went to the store to scan the code and the oxygen sensor came up. The light went off and never came back on. We do not need emissions here, so I left it alone. Appears that gas mileage an performance did not change.
9. Engine cannot be power washed. As a detailer I always wash and dress my engines. From day one, this vehicle engine bay cannot get wet, or it will not start for an hour or so. I know the owner who passed installed after market intake, throttle body spacer and some type of performance chip so the car can be tuned. The truck will never bed fast as it is the slow, but reliable 2.2 liter, so I never touched this stuff. My buddy has the same truck with 400,000 miles on the original motor. These motors are known to go for many miles, one of the best motors Chevy ever made.
Overall. I really feel the truck is a decent little truck. We been through a lot together and has NEVER broke down on me. Yes it needs some work, but I feel that the work needed is minor and can be done with a short amount of time. I am good with mechanics, but the truck may needs small things that I cannot see or hear. I stated the issues that I know need to be fixed. I did not do a full inspection of everything on the vehicle. When things gave me problems on the vehicle I replaced them such as the following.
New Shock I rear New Clutch Front End Replacement Drive Shaft Components Starter Alternator Brakes, Pads Change Oil Anti Freeze Clutch Fluid Rear End Fluid
Why am I selling this vehicle? I simply have to many vehicles, do not have time to drive this vehicle, and have other projects I’m involved in. I no longer want to see this vehicle sit and never driven, it is a shame. I hope a younger individual can acquire this vehicle and smile the way I did over the last 10 years of driving the vehicle. Gets a lot of looks on the highway and lowered suspension handles like a dream.
QUESTIONS. EMAIL OR CALL 570-807-2019. I am an honest seller and want to express everything I know about this vehicle and not hide anything!!! |

Survey says $25k barrier is a problem for EVs
Sun, 01 Dec 2013
The majority of consumers are more or less priced out of the market.
Electric cars are gaining popularity with the general public, but are they still too expensive? According to a survey 1,084 consumers by Navigant Research, a consulting firm located in Boulder, CO, 71 percent want their next car to cost under $25,000, while 41 percent won't go a cent above $20K. Looks like people are even thriftier than we'd originally thought.
Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
