Up for auction is a very clean 90 K5 Blazer.  It is currently being used as an everyday driver.  All maintenance has been kept up and are all current.  It has the factory throttle body injected 5.7 350 engine.  700R4 4 speed automatic transmission.  Just did major tune up recently.  Including spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor.  Alternator and starter are new.  Battery is about a year old.  Coolant temp and MAP sensors are new.  Fresh 5W30 Mobil One synthetic oil change.  New transmission filter and fluid.  Still has the factory front and rear axles with the 3.73 gears and rear limited slip.  New air filter and fuel filter.  The AC still has the R12 freon and I had it repaired and recharged.  It will freeze you out.  Rear brakes, drums, hardware and wheel cylinders were replaced.  Front rotors and brake pads are new.  Tires have over 85 percent life left on them.  They are 33X12.50R15 Goodyear MT/R tires mounted on American Racing 15X10 black steel wheels.  Power steering gear box has a slow leak.  Suspension is also new with 4" Procomp lift.  Front spring was replaced with Procomp lift spring and rear is 4" iron block.  Steering are was replaced and body mounts were replaced with Energy Suspension bushings.  All shocks are new with the lift.  Has factory dual front shock set up.  Procomp factory replacement steering stablizer.  The road manner is excellent.  The Offroad capability is also surprisingly well.  Took it rock crawling up in Big Bear CA month ago and had no problems what so ever.

The exterior was repainted in the factory red color because the original paints clear coat was coming off.  I had a body shop strip it down and respray it.  The top I had painted satin black because I think it looks better then the red.  The body is rust free and strait.  Even the doors line up perfectly and shut like new.  All the weather stripping was replaced after the paint work was done.  The windshield is also brand new.  The grille was showing its age so I had them paint it satin black.  I think it looks cleaner then the black and chrome.  The bumpers are still factory and have some dings here and there but look okay from 5 feet.  Was thinking about having them redone in satin black also.  I just had a class IV hitch installed with trailer brakes and 7 pin connector for towing.

The interior is mostly original.  The carpet is brand new replacement.  the factory side panels in the rear were cardboard and the material was looking worn so I had new ones made and had it covered in faux suede. The doors also have the same material in the inserts.  It looks great and custom.  The headliner was replaced in the past.  It is still good.  All the trim is in good shape.  The dash pad is the only bad thing, it has a few cracks.  The radio is the factory installed tape player with the eq.  It still works, just use the tape adapter for my ipod.  I changed all the dash lights to smd led bulbs and it looks awsome at night.  Nice and bright, even a hid blue color.  The driver bottom seat it starting to tear, the other seats are good, I just had them cleaned.  The fuel guage doesn't work correctly, was told it needs a sending unit.  I might have it repaired before the end of auction.  All depending on time.  I just keep it full and watch the trip odo.

I'm not really wanting to sell it, but other priorities have come up.  I have put a lot of money into it and love driving it.  I don't want to sell it but life makes us do things we don't like anyway.  I have always wanted a K5 Blazer and now I have to sell it.  The reserve is a lot lower then most being sold.  If you have any questions about the truck please let me know.  I drove it to Salt Lake and back 3 months ago.  Got 15 mpg.

2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray order guide hits the web

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

The official debut of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is only part of the excitement for fans of Chevy's virtuoso sportscar. Although we got to see the car and some of its preliminary specs in Detroit and Geneva, there is still no word on pricing and some of the juicier data points we've been waiting for - such as confirmed power output, EPA estimated mileage figures and performance numbers. Until then, CorvetteBlogger has gotten its hands on the order guide for the coupe version of the car - in both base and Z51 iterations - revealing tidbits like standard and optional features and available color combinations.
Some other new details made it onto the order guide, such as our first interior specs for the coupe including slightly less hip room and headroom, more shoulder room and the same amount of legroom. To see the full order guide, head on over to CorvetteBlogger. From what we can gather, it sounds like more information will be revealed on April 25 during a party at the Corvette Museum, and for those sun worshipers patiently waiting for a convertible, it would appear you've got another model year to wait through.

GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
