In essence, the truck starts, runs, drives, turns & stops perfect with all new parts. I didn’t hesitate putting my 3 daughters in the truck for a drive in the country. This truck is completely mechanically sound & road worthy.  All mechanical work completed in December 2013 by Two Guys Autoplex in Brooklyn, NY.  The owner Steve guarantees all parts & labor for 1 year, as he purchased all the parts.  The truck passed the state inspection with no problems. I have receipts for all the new parts & work completed.

I bought the truck on eBay in August 2013. It was originally a one-owner truck from Arizona with no rust at all. Therefore, I left the body of the truck as is for 3 reasons: 1) it is the current style to have original patina on old trucks. 2) If the new owner wants to pain it, they can choose the color.  3) My main focus throughout the restoration process was to keep the truck as original as possible & make it as mechanically safe as possible.  When I purchased the truck, it came with a salvage title, which doesn’t matter on a 40+ year vehicle. I had no problems registering the truck in New York & passing a rigorous salvage inspection. The previous seller mentioned in the sale description that the truck was a victim of theft only many years ago & nothing was wrong with it when it was recovered, but the insurance company wrote it off anyway.

The truck would come with original rims & rear seat from a later model.

What the truck needs is a full transmission rebuild. It slips in reverse & leaks transmission oil. I can take care of it locally for an additional $2,000. Again, the truck has no rust that I know of except driver floor board (about a quarter size hole). So the body work should not be expensive. This is what you will have to attend to if & when you want: Transmission, All Interior reupholstered, Gauges don’t work (I was going to attend to that when redoing the interior), transmission & paint. If the cosmetics of the truck don’t bother you or you are looking for original patina on a truck, then you can drive this truck as is for many years to come. I've been as thorough as possible with my description. With any questions, comments or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 646-943-0033 BEFORE BIDDING. Please do NOT bid if you can not afford it.

Here's why automakers roll out those Texas-themed pickup trucks

Thu, Sep 29 2016

Every year, automakers with a full-size truck link make a big show of the Texas State Fair, usually involving a reveal of a new model. Sometimes they show a whole new truck, and other times a special edition centered on the Lone Star state. While some people might write this off as a quirk of the industry, others might be wondering, "What's the big deal with Texas?" As it turns out, part of the big deal with Texas is big truck sales. According to Dave Sullivan, product analysis manager at AutoPacific, Texas buys more trucks than any other state in the country. It's not a small margin either. Edmunds.com, one in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. The state also accounts for 15 percent of the country's large truck sales, which is more than twice that of California, the second largest truck market in America. Even when you break down sales only in Texas, trucks are a huge piece of the pie - Sullivan says that a quarter of new vehicle sales in Texas are trucks. One in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. But it's not just sales that make truck builders give attention to Texas. As Sullivan explained, "Pickups are life in Texas." Both he and Hugh Milne, marketing and advertising manager for the Chevy Silverado line, said that trucks are key fixtures in Texas society, as both work trucks and luxury vehicles (or Texas Cadillacs as Milne called them). Milne said Texas is so important in the truck market that if you want to be successful in the rest of the country, "you've got to be successful in Texas." As for the State Fair, it has become a prime location for reveals in part because of the importance of the Texas market and because of how big the fair is. Milne also revealed that the State Fair also hosts its own auto show, so it's an ideal venue for a vehicle introduction. So there you have it. Why do truck builders obsess over Texas? It's because Texas obsesses over trucks. When you have one market that loves your product that much, you give it the attention it deserves. GM might outsource vans to AM General

Thu, Nov 26 2015

General Motors will possibly boost production of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon at the Wentzville Assembly Plant in Missouri by contracting out some commercial van manufacturing to AM General. Demand for the two midsize trucks continues to boom, and GM would like to take advantage of the strong market for them. The possible deal came to light in a letter to workers at the factory, according to Automotive News. "This potential partnership would free up production capacity and allow the organization to capitalize on our ability to build midsize trucks to further satisfy customer demand," a portion of the document allegedly said. AM General would reportedly only take over assembly of the cutaway versions of the Chevy Express and GMC Savana. Customers and critics have quickly embraced the latest Colorado and Canyon since their introduction. The Chevy just won back-to-back Motor Trend Truck of the Year awards. GM also had to add a third shift and extra workers in 2014 just to keep up with demand. The Wentzville plant even increased employment on the weekends earlier in 2015 to assemble an extra 2,000 of the trucks each month. While the two pickups boom, deliveries for the Chevy Express and GMC Savana are down 26.9 percent and 26.6 percent respectively through the first 10 months of the year. GM doesn't break out numbers for the cutaway versions, but they make up about a third of production, according to Automotive News. AM General built the Humvee for the US military and does some contract work with automakers. For example, the company's Indiana factory now produces the Mercedes-Benz R-Class for export to China. Here's hoping this potential deal will help both GM and AM General keep their factories humming. Related Video:

So, how do you actually pronounce that automaker's name?

Thu, Jan 21 2016

You probably have that friend who always says Porsche wrong, or maybe it's someone who keeps reminding you it's actually two syllables. Whichever side of the pronunciation debate you fall on, you'll find someone to root for in the video above. And before you ask, this was all the video team's idea. So don't get mad at me for being the voice of reason. BMW Chevrolet Hyundai Nissan Rolls-Royce Videos Original Video nissan qashqai
