1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4X4

350 V8 Automatic

Justin 503-969-5127

Hello eBayers and welcome to my auction.  Today I have a vehicle for sale that I really love.  This is a 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4X4.  It is finished in its factory color of Wheatland Yellow and has white vinyl seats with factory black and white plaid inserts.  The carpet is black loop.  The K5 is really great looking.  All of the colors of the Chevy really look great together as I hope the pictures demonstrate.

This is a rust free Blazer it has had both of the rockers replaced in steel.  The floorboards are solid as are the bottoms of the doors.  They do have some bubbles under there, but nothing concerning.  The miles stopped rolling over between 79,999 and 80,000..  I have no way to authenticate them.

The paint looks great, but I don’t believe it is original and its not new either.  I would wager a guess that it is about 10 years old and was just cared for well and kept inside.  It is buffed and waxed and looks really nice.  It is not perfect however so perfectionists.. You have been warned.  In my opinion, it is perfect for this type of truck..  I like them to look useable.

The interior is mostly new.  I had the carpet installed and using the factory center cloth material, had the front seats re-upholstered.  The rear seat was still in excellent condition so I just kept that original.  I also had the rear side panels done as well.  It is beautiful inside.  The windshield is also new.

I hated the wheels that were on the blazer when I got it so I sourced a perfect set of k5 Rally wheels and got all the beauty rings and center caps too.  Next I wrapped them in a new set of 31’’ All Terrain Radials.

Mechanically the blazer has always run well.  It did have some leaks that I had fixed.  The transmission pan leaked and I had the gasket replaced and had the fluid changed.  I had them do both front and rear differentials at the same time just because..   She doesn’t leak a drop.  If I was going to do anything else to the K5 it would be to put on a Holley Carburetor.  I always do that with the 350 engines because they run so well with the Holleys but I just didn’t this time.  On the other hand lots of folks like stock vehicles.  This is a very stock Blazer.

The top is great and solid but somewhere in its life somebody added a rear vent like those you might find in an RV..  It works and does not seem to leak..

The K5 was equipped with Air Conditioning from the factory, but the belt is off the compressor.  It spins freely but I have no idea if it will work once you hook it back up if you do..

This Chevrolet has a ton of vintage appeal and will surely be one to hold on to for future appreciation.  It is over 40 years old so if you are not used to a vehicle this old please call me and let me help you make an informed decision about a purchase and what ownership will be like.

I am selling the car with NO RESERVE and I know the k5 will sell the first go around as long as we all play by these rules.

#1.  Only bid if you have intentions to buy.

#2. Ask any and all questions before bidding.

#3. Please contact me BEFORE BIDDING if you have zero or negative feedback.

#4. This is an AS-IS sale.  I have done my best to describe it exactly as I see it but it has no warranties or guarantees.

#5. I will not accept Pay-Pal for the balance payment of the truck.  Pay-Pal is for the deposits only, the balance must be paid by certified check or wire.  Legitimate and legal buyers only please.

Just be real and genuine and I will make sure that the winning bidder is happy with his or her purchase.  I have 100% positive feedback and I plan on keeping that.  Also, I will end the sale for the right offer so don’t wait till the last second and worry about missing out.  Just call me and we will work out a fair price..

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

Impala SS vs. Marauder: Recalling Detroit’s muscle sedans

Thu, Apr 30 2020

Impala SS vs. Marauder — it was comparo that only really happened in theory. ChevyÂ’s muscle sedan ran from 1994-96, while MercuryÂ’s answer arrived in 2003 and only lasted until 2004. TheyÂ’re linked inextricably, as there were few options for powerful American sedans during that milquetoast period for enthusiasts. The debate was reignited recently among Autoblog editors when a pristine 1996 Chevy Impala SS with just 2,173 miles on the odometer hit the market on Bring a Trailer. Most of the staff favored the Impala for its sinister looks and said that it lived up to its billing as a legit muscle car. Nearly two-thirds of you agree. We ran an unscientific Twitter poll that generated 851 votes, 63.9 percent of which backed the Impala. Muscle sedans, take your pick: — Greg Migliore (@GregMigliore) April 14, 2020 Then and now enthusiasts felt the Impala was a more complete execution with guts. The Marauder, despite coming along later, felt more hacked together, according to prevailing sentiments. Why? On purpose and on paper theyÂ’re similar. The ImpalaÂ’s 5.7-liter LT1 V8 making 260 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque was impressive for a two-ton sedan in the mid-Â’90s. The Marauder was actually more powerful — its 4.6-liter V8 was rated at 302 hp and 318 lb-ft. The ImpalaÂ’s engine was also used in the C4 Corvette. The MarauderÂ’s mill was shared with the Mustang Mach 1. You can see why they resonated so deeply with Boomers longing for a bygone era and also captured the attention of coming-of-age Gen Xers. Car and DriverÂ’s staff gave the Marauder a lukewarm review back in ‘03, citing its solid handling and features, yet knocking the sedan for being slow off the line. In a Hemmings article appropriately called “Autopsy” from 2004, the ImpalaÂ’s stronger low-end torque and smooth shifting transmission earned praise, separating it from the more sluggish Mercury. All of this was captured in the carsÂ’ acceleration times, highlighting metrically the differences in their character. The Impala hit 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds, while the Marauder was a half-second slower, according to C/D testing. Other sites have them closer together, which reinforces the premise it really was the little things that separated these muscle cars. Both made the most of their genetics, riding on ancient platforms (FordÂ’s Panther and General MotorsÂ’ B-body) that preceded these cars by decades. Both had iconic names.

C7 Corvette turbo with 1,000 horsepower promised from Hennessey

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

If you can't wait for the next-generation Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Hennessey says they will have you covered. The Texas-based company has announced it will offer a spate of upgrades for the 2014 Corvette ranging from a range of bolt-on options all the way up to a 1,000-horsepower, twin-turbo system. Buyers can start with a cold air intake, cat-back exhaust or stainless steel long-tube headers, but Hennessey says it will also offer up three stages of forced induction mayhem should those bits and baubles not provide enough thrust.
Those choices start with a supercharger system good for up to 700 hp, though Hennessey will gladly ditch the blower in favor of two turbos. Doing so will spin the crank to the tune of 800 horsepower all the way up to a certifiably ludicrous 1,000 ponies. There's no word on how much these tricks will cost you - or when they will be available, as we're guessing they haven't gotten their hands on the car yet - but you can head over to the Hennessey site to drop them a line if you're curious.
