1972 Blazer Cts K5 4wd on 2040-cars
Yorba Linda, California, United States
**EDIT** Forgot to mention the vehicle has power steering and power brakes. The body is very straight but does have some minor dings. I cant find bondo on it at all and it does not appear to have ever in a collision. 1972 Blazer K5 CST, in very good UNRESTORED condition, especially considering the vehicle is 42 years old. Its powered by a very strong running 350 motor with turbo 350 trans. It shifts very hard without hesitation. I have been using this truck as daily driver and it is very dependable. It doesn’t leek a drop of anything!! It still has the original interior, seats, console, carpet, upholstery but it does appear to have been repainted. This truck has VERY LITTLE RUST (see photos). There is a bit in the bottom of the doors and back of front fenders but it is all minor and easily repairable. The floor pans, rockers, frame, window gutters, and bed are all SOLID! The only thing she needs mechanically is the brakes to bled as right now I can tell there’s air bubbles in the lines so you have to press the brakes harder than usual. The front brakes are disc and the rear drum. Both axels have been gone through and freshened up by UniTrax so you’re good to go there. The truck has a 6” suspension lift on it with 35” mud terrain tires, about 85% tread life left on those. Virtually everything works on the vehicle. It was recently rewired so all the lights work, even the little red 50 MPH light in the speedometer, very cool! When the truck was re-wired it was set up for electric windows should anyone decide to install them, but the original window cranks function nice and smoothly. The truck originally had AC and most of the components are still there but it is missing the compressor and 2 vents in the dash. The knob recently fell off the windshield wiper so the button needs to be reconnected to the rod but the wiper motor works great. The tail gate and lift gate both meet up very nicely however the latch is not functioning properly; I believe the rods need to be connected to the latch. The truck also has a Kenwood CD/MP3 player with 6x9 speakers. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION so please ask questions before bidding and bid to win, I have the pink slip in hand! I also strongly recommend setting up an appointment to come view the vehicle in person and if that is not available, we can try to work out additional photos or a video. Im sure I am forgetting something so I will update the add if I think of anything. Please contact me via email or cell phone (call/txt) 714-305-1137 with your questions. The vehicle is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time!

GM files to trademark name Badlands
Mon, Feb 23 2015If you've been hoping for General Motors to come out swinging at the Ford F-150 Raptor, we've had some tantalizing news for you of late. Last month we brought you a report that indicated GM has trademarked the name "Z71 Trail Boss," suggesting a potential hardcore off-roader. Now it seems the General has filed for a potentially even better name. That name, as our friends over at GM Authority have discovered, is "Badlands." The application, filed on February 16, indicates that it's for a truck, but of course it doesn't specify just what form it would take... or for that matter, under which division it would fall. So we could, in theory, be looking at the nameplate for a Raptor rival from Chevy or GMC (like the 2011 Sierra All Terrain HD concept pictured here), or for some other trim level, a concept truck, a special edition... just about anything. Heck, it could be for a Vauxhall, Opel or Holden for all we know at this point. Or GM could choose not to use it on anything at all, but here's hoping it'll emerge as something awesome in US showrooms sometime soon. GM won't pay owners of recalled cars for lost value
Thu, 12 Jun 2014Kenneth Feinberg, the man in charge of the General Motors compensation fund dealing with the its widespread ignition switch woes, has issued an informal, two-letter response to the plaintiffs in more than 70 lawsuits seeking redress for lost resale value of their Cobalts: "No." The cases were recently combined into one, but Feinberg told The Detroit News that the fund will deal "only with death and physical injury claims," and that "perceived diminished value" will get no consideration.
ALG, the firm specializing in establishing residual values, determined that Cobalt owners had lost $300 compared to the segment competition and doesn't envision any long-term effects from the recall situation. Feinberg's statement comes in advance of public details on how the compensation fund will work and adheres to GM's long-held position on the matter. The company has already asked a judge to throw out such suits using the pre-bankruptcy defense, even as it stopped using that defense in cases of injury and death.
With plenty of potential gain from the GM suit, however, don't expect the plaintiffs to give up yet. When Toyota was sued for the same reason during the unintended acceleration debacle, it eventually settled the case for between $1 billion and $1.4 billion just to get it over with. Since the 85 law firms involved in the Toyota litigation took home more than $250 million of that total, we shouldn't expect the attorneys to give up on a GM payout, either.
