1971 K/5 Chevy Blazer, 89 K actual miles, very good condition.

This very unique Blazer was purchased new at Ed Black Chevrolet in Albuquerque, NM and has spent it's entire life in the mild, dry, high desert climate of  NM.  I purchased this Blazer 14 years ago from a retired Cadillac tech who owned and carefully maintained the vehicle for 28 years.

There is virtually no rust anywhere on the vehicle.  This includes common problem areas such as floor pans, kick panels, doors, rocker panels, firewall, tailgate, windshield frame, fenders, rear quarter panels, etc.

The body is in very good condition and is very straight.  It was repainted once in the original color and still has a nice gloss.  There are stone chips on some of the lower body panels and there are 3 very small imperfections (dings?) on the body that can only be seen in a certain light.  There is also damage to the right rear fender by the tail lamp which I have taken a picture of.  There was a CB antenna on the driver's side rear quarter.  It was removed and plugged.  The body work was not perfect and the repair is visible.
Although not perfect, the body looks very nice.

The removable top is double wall construction and is in excellent condition.  There are no cracks in the top or lift gate.
The interior is very clean and is in great shape.  The seats are very nice with no rips or tears.  The dash pad is not cracked.  The carpet is clean and is in good condition.  There are no speaker holes cut in the interior metal.  All gauges, lights, switches, radio, etc., work as they should.

The vehicle has the original factory power train.  The engine is a 350, 4 BL Q jet, 4 bolt main, engine code: V1209TBG,  and is in excellent condition.  It starts easy, has no unusual mechanical noises, and runs great.  The transmission is a 350 Turbo that shifts smoothly and has been serviced regularly.  The transfer case is a NP 205 that shifts into all ranges, is quiet and has been serviced regularly.  The rear end is tight and does not clunk or howl.  The front hubs are Warn premium locking hubs.  I have the original blue tab hubs that will go with the vehicle.

The steering , brakes, and suspension are all in good working order.  The vehicle steers straight and does not wander on the road. The brakes do not pull, squeak, or shudder.

It has a new set of 31x10.50R 15 LT tires that have less 1000 miles.

Over all, this is an exceptional vehicle that hasn't been modified, has very low miles, and has the original power train.   It is dependable, quick, and fun to drive.  It doesn't act it's age.

Blazers like this are becoming very hard to find!

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
