1971 Gmc Jimmy 4x4 (or Blazer) Great Driver Project. ** No Reserve!! ** on 2040-cars
Citrus Heights, California, United States
*******NO RESERVE AUCTION!!!!!*******
1971 gmc Jimmy. Has power steering, power disk brakes, also Has rebuilt 350/350 trans. Truck runs very strong and is no slug. Engine has 10.5:1 CR, Cam, headers edelbrock intake and Carb. Trans does have shift kit. Dana 44 front and 12 bolt rear. 4.10:1 gears, Lockers both front and rear. WARN hubs, 33" tires on factory 6 lug rallies. It was an A/C truck and 90% of the equipment is still there. Missing compressor and other small items. Has some aftermarket gauges, brand new distributor, coil, wires and plugs. All of the fuel system was cleaned and all rubber hoses replaced. Suspension has had bushings replaced with polyurthane bushings including body mounts. Nice dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers. Runs and drives good as far as older trucks go.
truck has some rust in both rockers and some in the driver side lower door. the rest of the tub is pretty solid without issues. Has pretty darn nice double wall top, Rear hatch has had some repairs in the past but is fully fuctional. All glass is good. Has non-factory bucket seats in the front with a factory console. rear seat is in it. It is missing a few pieces of trim here and there and I dont have the front bumper. Truck is located in Sacramento Ca. and is sold with a Clean California duplicate title (lost original) and a bill of sale.
Overall the starting bid costs less than just the work on the front and rear differentials, let alone everything else that has been gone through and replaced. By no means is this truck a rust bucket. Pictures show the extent of the rust. I own a restoration shop and can negotiate rocker panel replacements before it ships to you, but cost is NOT included in auction price. Our shop is busy and would require a week or so after auction end to do work before it could ship. Would be nice to see someone take this truck and give it the cosmetic attention it needs to be a sweet old classic 4x4. Not a while lot of these around worth restoring anymore plus all the hard dirty work is done! selling with no reserve. Truck is for sale locally and subject to sale prior to end of auction close.

I do have back hatch it will be installed tomorrow. Truck mechanically is pretty nice. a little paint and interior would go a long way with this truck. On Dec-08-13 at 18:10:05 PST, seller added the following information: Just added more pictures that were asked for. I DO have the passenger seat, just had it out to take the carpet out to show the floors and clean/vaccume the tub up. People keep asking me to end auction early and I am wanting to let ebay work as it should. High bid wins no reserve! This is one hell of a deal for this truck. notice dash in not cut up at all! very little rust outside of the rocker panels very solid tub. I have a restoration shop and will replace both rockers for 1k including parts and labor. This option would be negotiated AFTER the ebay auction as a seperate transaction. thanks for looking and good luck bidding |

These are the five most ridiculous attacks on the Chevy Volt [w/videos]
Thu, Aug 7 2014It's been a long, strange trip for the Chevy Volt from the time when the now-odd-looking concept version (above) was introduced at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show to today. And now, General Motors announced that the second-generation Chevy Volt will make an appearance at the 2015 Detroit show in January. This debut represents a victory for GM with what has easily become the most politicized car of the 21st Century. There are plenty of reasons for someone to criticize the Volt, but what's amazing is just how much anti-Volt energy has been spent not on things like the styling or how the EREV setup is not as efficient as a pure-EV powertrain. As we wait for more official information on the new Volt, we thought it would be fun to go back and look at some of the most wildly incorrect reporting and strangest attacks on the Volt from the archives. There is so much good stuff out there, it was hard to pare the list down, but these are our five favorites. Amazingly, they're not all clips from Fox News. Check 'em out below. 5. GM Is Going To Stop Making The Chevy Volt In The US Do you remember when GM was about to move Volt production to China? Well, yeah, this was reported back in early 2012 when a GM executive mentioned that the automaker would get benefits of building the Volt in the places where it sells them. This was spun into a story of GM taking Obama bailout money and then running to China. The Blaze was not happy: "Given the fact that Federal government helped itself to millions and millions of taxpayer dollars under the pretense that it was going to combat high unemployment by creating 'green jobs,' it would seem that moving research and development (and possibly manufacturing) overseas is slightly, well, counterproductive." Well, of course, that never happened. There's no way to say that GM will never build a version of the Volt in China, but the news we hear rumors of these days is that GM is going to move production of more Volt parts (specifically, the motors) to Michigan from overseas. 4. The Chevy Volt Is A Fire Trap There has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. Yes, there were Volts that caught on fire. Yes, that's a scary thing. But there has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. These were crashed test vehicles with destroyed batteries and plugged-in vehicles that were not the cause.
Our favorite mid-engine Corvette theories and rumors
Tue, Sep 13 2016The mid-engine Corvette! We just saw blurry photos through the foliage, and are hearts are all aflutter because it means that this car is real. And it's the most " never before" Corvette since 1984. Which leads us to all kinds of wacky theories and speculation. Everybody knows something or heard from a guy. None of those guys (or gals) from GM are talking to Autoblog, to be clear. But that won't stop us from stirring the pot. Let's go over a few point-by-point. The pushrod engine will be replaced by an overhead-cam V8 Car and Driver has repeatedly reported that an overhead-cam engine will come after the mid-engine Corvette's debut with an old-school pushrod. We've heard the same thing firsthand, albeit from a source with no connection to the development of the Corvette or powertrain. "At some point two valves can't pass future emissions regulations," said the guy we know. While the pushrod engine is compact, the design makes it difficult - if not impossible - for sophisticated variable valve timing (and lift) systems that control combustion with more precision. Hasty conclusion: The pushrod engine has a finite life in front of it. This one's a lock, it's a just a matter of when. Bowling Green's new paint shop is really the mid-engine assembly line Credit to Reddit for this one. Like we said, everybody knows a guy. But let's look deeper. The new paint facility costs $439 million dollars and adds 450,000 square feet, almost half the size of the existing plant. Plus GM announced another $290 million in upgrades at Bowling Green Assembly. That sure sounds like a lot of money, but you can actually spend that much on a paint booth. Porsche spent 500 million Euros (about $561 million dollars) to add the Macan assembly to its Leipzig, Germany plant in 2014. Chrysler shelled out $850 million for a paint shop in Sterling Heights, Michigan. GM spent $600 million for a new paint shop at the Fairfax (Kansas City) plant. Honda, on the other hand, is working on a thrifty $210 million project in Marysville, Ohio that includes a 300,000 square foot expansion, and the low-volume Acura NSX facility only cost $70 million. Hasty conclusion: The square footage and cost could easily mean a new assembly line instead of (or in addition to) a paint line. And if the NSX plant was really that cheap, GM could have hidden a similar sum in its existing announcements.
Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon get updated tachometers due to graphical error
Sun, Feb 8 2015After James Bearing bought a Chevrolet Colorado, he noticed a discrepancy between the truck's spec sheet and the truck's tachometer: Chevrolet said 3.6-liter V6 in the little pickup produces 305 horsepower at 6,800 rpm, but the the tachometer indicates a redline at 6,500 rpm. So either he wasn't making as much power as he was promised, or the tachometer display was incorrect. Bearing said he asked Chevy about it but got no response. Until now. A General Motors spokesman said the rev limiter is indeed set for 6,800 rpm, but the tach graphics "are slightly off" in the Colorado and the GMC Canyon, and submitted an SAE horsepower certification to back him up. If you're wondering how such a thing got past quality control... well, let's just say you're not alone. GM is going to fix "the graphics on future trucks," which makes it sound like Bearing will just have to learn to live with the indicated redline he's got. He could always pretend he's driving a sleeper, with four more ponies waiting to be unlocked in the danger zone for those who dare.
