This is a beautiful 1956 4-door Bel Air.  The car was purchased new in 1956 and has never left the family!  It was passed from generation to generation and has been meticulously cared for.  The car went through a frame off restoration 15 years ago and has been updated and modernized.  Since the restoration, it was a daily driver for four years and has waited covered in a garage until now.  Only taken out for cruise-ins and beautiful days in the past 10 years, there are fewer than 5000 miles on the restoration!

A brand new 350ci motor was installed and upgraded with 64cc Edelbrock aluminum heads and Edelbrock aluminum intake.  It has a Performer RPM cam, roller rockers, electronic ignition, and dual exhaust with Cherry Bomb mufflers.  All new stainless fuel lines feed a 650 Holley carb.  Backing that new motor is a classic 3-speed with column shifter.  A limited slip differential gets the power to the pavement.  The sound of this thing rolling off idle and climbing the revs is just hypnotizing.  Idling through a parking lot with that rumble causes heads to turn and thumbs-up to appear all around.

During the restoration, the body was professionally blasted and stripped before being brought back to this incredible black finish.  All chrome was replaced or refinished.  All the body gaskets and bumpers have been replaced.  The floor pan and rocker panels were replaced while the hood and fenders were professionally repaired.  The interior has new carpet, new door panels, new headliner and has been upgraded with front 3-point seat belts.  The dash clock was professionally repaired and the radio is aftermarket with 10 disc changer.  There are new kick-panel speakers with buttons for the power door locks.

The front end was rebuilt with new polyurethane bushings and has been upgraded to disc brakes.  There is a new dual master cylinder with new stainless brake lines and proportioning valve.  The rear brakes were rebuilt with new wheel cylinders.  A 100A alternator and Vintage Air A/C round out the under-the-hood package.  New leaf springs and front and rear anti-sway bars improve the ride on this classic automobile.

This vehicle is a family car that has been loved, maintained, and restored by the same family.  Two generations have grown up with this car and brought it to the current state.  If you're looking for a show-queen, this isn't the car for you.  This car carried us to school and work and has been in a garage for more than a decade since its restoration.  It has been a great father/son project and now it is available for you to add its next chapter.  The body looks great with a few small cracks and defects in the paint (shown in photo).  We want you to know that you are getting an unbelievably solid and uniquely upgraded car that isn't show car perfect.  The time has come for someone new to enjoy the vehicle so don't miss out on this incredible opportunity!                                Please email any questions to AJ at cooperlabs@gmail.com or you can reach me by phone at 202.596.5238

Watch this time-lapse build of the Chevy SS for NASCAR

Fri, 08 Feb 2013

There's only about a week left until we get our first look at the production version of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan, but Chevrolet NASCAR teams have been looking at the race version of the car all winter. Autoweek has posted a really neat time-lapse video showing just a portion of what it takes to build one of NASCAR's new Gen6 stock cars.
Though the video is quite brief, it does show almost the entire build process starting with just the car's nose, and it gives us a good look at how integral the template is to the final product. As a bonus, Hendrick Motorsports also provided some videos showing two of its teams performing pit stop tests over the winter. The second video shows some of the more detailed aspects of the racecar's rear end, including the stock-looking trunk cutout and a newly mandated rear bumper extension that will be used on super speedways like Daytona and Talladega.
To see what Team Chevy has been up to all off-season, check out all three videos posted after the jump.

Michael Jordan's cars showcased in 'The Last Dance' documentary

Sun, May 10 2020

After the masses begged and pleaded for an early release, ESPN finally unlocked the doors to the biggest production in company history last month. Episodes 1 and 2 of The Last Dance, a 10-part documentary special about Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls, and the 1997-1998 season, was released at last on April 19, 2020. Each week since, two new episodes have aired on Sunday nights, and the next two, episodes 7 and 8 are scheduled to drop this weekend on May 10. With unprecedented video access to MJ, who became averse to the media during his playing days, a byproduct from The Last Dance is a look at some of Jordan's cars. The Goat's taste ranges across a number of brands, but they all had one thing in common: performance as a top priority. Below, we have listed the rides that have already appeared in the series, and each week, we will update with new car cameos. Chevrolet Corvette C4 The photo above somewhat epitomizes one of the themes of The Last Dance. Everybody, whether that was men, women, children, franchise owners, reporters, coaches, teammates, or opponents, wanted a piece of Jordan. If that meant stopping in the middle of the road to get an autograph, then so be it. Around town, MJ was fairly easy to spot due to his flashy cars that occasionally wore Bulls red. Jordan has driven numerous Corvettes throughout the years, but the C4 is unique in that it was Chevy's top ride when Jordan signed an endorsement deal with the American company during his rookie year in 1984. Two famous photos, one in front of the Chicago skyline, show him standing next to a C4 with the license plate "Jump 23." This exact car, however, came later, as indicated by the squared-off taillights. He went on to star in a number of Chevrolet commercials with vehicles such as the Blazer and S-10 pickup truck. Chevrolet Corvette C5 The most notable Corvette His Airness ever owned was likely the C4 40th Anniversary ZR-1, but he also drove a C5 coupe at one point. Roughly nine minutes into the first episode, Jordan is seen driving the chrome-wheeled targa top into the parking lot at the Berto Center, the Bulls old practice facility.   Ferrari 550 Maranello Roughly three minutes into episode four, viewers get a glimpse of Jordan's exotic taste in the form of a red Ferrari 550 Maranello.

These are the five most ridiculous attacks on the Chevy Volt [w/videos]

Thu, Aug 7 2014

It's been a long, strange trip for the Chevy Volt from the time when the now-odd-looking concept version (above) was introduced at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show to today. And now, General Motors announced that the second-generation Chevy Volt will make an appearance at the 2015 Detroit show in January. This debut represents a victory for GM with what has easily become the most politicized car of the 21st Century. There are plenty of reasons for someone to criticize the Volt, but what's amazing is just how much anti-Volt energy has been spent not on things like the styling or how the EREV setup is not as efficient as a pure-EV powertrain. As we wait for more official information on the new Volt, we thought it would be fun to go back and look at some of the most wildly incorrect reporting and strangest attacks on the Volt from the archives. There is so much good stuff out there, it was hard to pare the list down, but these are our five favorites. Amazingly, they're not all clips from Fox News. Check 'em out below. 5. GM Is Going To Stop Making The Chevy Volt In The US Do you remember when GM was about to move Volt production to China? Well, yeah, this was reported back in early 2012 when a GM executive mentioned that the automaker would get benefits of building the Volt in the places where it sells them. This was spun into a story of GM taking Obama bailout money and then running to China. The Blaze was not happy: "Given the fact that Federal government helped itself to millions and millions of taxpayer dollars under the pretense that it was going to combat high unemployment by creating 'green jobs,' it would seem that moving research and development (and possibly manufacturing) overseas is slightly, well, counterproductive." Well, of course, that never happened. There's no way to say that GM will never build a version of the Volt in China, but the news we hear rumors of these days is that GM is going to move production of more Volt parts (specifically, the motors) to Michigan from overseas. 4. The Chevy Volt Is A Fire Trap There has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. Yes, there were Volts that caught on fire. Yes, that's a scary thing. But there has never been a Volt that just spontaneously lit up while driving down the road. These were crashed test vehicles with destroyed batteries and plugged-in vehicles that were not the cause.
