If you are looking for a perfect frame off restored trailer queen turn back now, No use in wasting your time or mine. However if you want to spend $40K+ and are in the market for a very nice above driver quality 57 Chevrolet with out busting your entire life savings then keep reading!!!!!
Up for auction is a very nice 57 Chevy that you will be proud to drive and show. This car will gets a lot of looks and compliments everywhere you go. This American icon is very dependable and hits the road excellent and can be driven anywhere!!
This car originally was sold in Melbourne Florida and made its way up here just a few short years ago. I purchased it in Charlotte N.C and sold it to a good friend of mine in aprox 2008-2009. He installed vintage a/c and a new 350 crate engine. The car has been garage kept since and driven very little and still shows extremely well. Just a few weeks ago I acquired this 57 back in on trade and have made it my demo. I have been driving this car back and forth to work and around town daily (weather permitting) with NO problems!!!
The body is straight as an arrow and as solid as you will find!! The trunk, floors, frame, body panels are extremely solid and rust free! T
he chrome, stainless, and glass is in immaculate condition and still shows like new with a high quality shine! The windshield has one foggy place on the driver side (see pics) other than that all glass is perfect!!
The paint is slick as glass and as straight as a guitar string. It has a very deep show room shine and looks amazing but the car has been done for aprox 7-8 years and driven a little so it will have what I would consider to be normal wear that is to be expected from any vehicle that has been driven and enjoyed ...such as maybe a small chip here or there that has been touched up. NO runs, orange peel, trash in the paint etc. This is a high quality paint job that has held up remarkably! It is accented tastefully and professionally with pearl ghost flames that you have to look HARD to see. In fact they barely show up in the pics but if you look close you will catch a glimpse. Also on the trunk is some air brush work that was done from the dealer in Florida who sold it years ago. Personally the airbrush on the trunk is the only thing I don't like about the cars paint and if the new owner would like I am willing to repaint the trunk lid and delete this??
The interior just like the rest of the car was restored a few years ago but still shows extremely well. NO rips or tears!! It still shows to be in great condition! It is fitted with aftermarket oil, temp amp gauges, aftermarket seatbelts and a Kenwood am/fm/cd player
As mentioned before a new 350/290h.p. crate engine was added by my friend in aprox 2008-2009. He purchased this engine from Berglund Chevrolet and I do have the receipt and less than 9,000 miles have been placed on it. With the headers, aluminum intake and a few more upgrades I would estimate this car to be a touch over 300h.p. The engine is mated to a newly replaced (replaced same time as engine) turbo 350 automatic transmission that shifts perfect and stock rear end geared at aprox 3:73. The car runs, sounds and performs excellent NO mechanical problems!! It was upgraded last year with power brakes, vintage a/c (blows ice cold) and a Be Cool aluminum radiator to ensure absolutely NO over heating. On the hottest of days here the car will not break 190 degrees. It can be driven anywhere with NO problems!!
All old classics always require some fine tuning or have a few bugs. Here is a few very simple things I have found will require some attention from the new owner..... The horn does not blow, the stereo works but does not pick up stations as the antenna has been broken from a car cover and the speedometer quit working a few months ago. Other than those minor bugs she is ready to enjoy!!
I am a licensed and bonded Virginia dealer but am not accepting any trades at this time.
WE WELCOME ALL BUYERS WORLD WIDE!!
We reserve the right to end this auction at anytime for any reason as this car IS for sale locally.... Next Chevy Volt will be 2016 model and ride on new chassis
Fri, Mar 7 2014What do we know about the 2016 Chevy Volt? Well, for now, all we can do is try to put the puzzle together without the box. Thankfully, a new batch of pieces has arrived from a new report in Edmunds, which says that the 2016 model year will introduce the second generation of a car that hasn't been dramatically updated since it went on sale in 2010. The new Volt is getting an "evolutionary styling change" and will ride on a new front-drive platform that has been developed by General Motors. GM's Kevin Kelly told AutoblogGreen that he has "no comment on future products," but he did acknowledge that Chevrolet is working on a second-generation Volt, "but I can't say anything about timing." Everybody already knew that a next-gen Volt is coming, so that's not a surprise. What we don't know is any real concrete information on the car itself. The few tidbits of information we do have help define the outlines of the next version of Chevy's halo car, but they're not confirmed yet. For the record, they range from the eye-raising (a $10,000 price drop) to the logical (20 percent more electric range). We can't see the whole picture yet, but the pieces do point to the 2016 Volt, which would be released next year sometime, being a much bigger deal than the last update, when the Volt's range was increased by three electric miles thanks to a battery capacity increase of 16 kWh to 16.5.
2022 Genesis GV70, raging at VW ID.4 tech and thoughts on a new Lexus LFA | Autoblog Podcast #696
Fri, Sep 17 2021In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor James Riswick. This week, they talk about driving the Genesis GV70, VW ID.4 and VW Taos. They talk about ways Chevy could "fix" the Camaro. James ranked all the James Bond films based solely on their starring cars. Next, they reach in the mailbag and discuss the question, "Do you think Lexus will make a successor to the LFA and, if so, what do you guys think it would be like?" After ruminating on that query, they dip into the mailbag a second time to recommend a sporty crossover to a listener in this week's Spend My Money segment. First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 engine blows up at just 891 miles
Thu, Jan 1 2015You've waited and watched and waited some more for the arrival of your 650-horsepower, $78,000 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Finally, that joyous day arrives and you eagerly, but gingerly, begin to break-in the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 monster under your hood. Then 900-odd miles after delivery, your excitement grinds, quite literally, to a halt. That's what the owner of one 2015 Z06 claimed happened to him when a simple break-in drive resulted in a lunched engine. The owner, known as Lawdogg149 on Corvette Forum, says he was out breaking-in his car ahead of a January track event when it happened. "While making a pull from 35 miles per hour, I accelerated and shifted short of redline, and boom - the car began knocking. I pulled over and popped the hood. I could hear a loud knock coming from the No. 6 cylinder area along with a serious, grinding, metal-on-metal sound coming from the supercharger area," Lawdogg wrote. A subsequent trip to the dealer confirmed his concerns, with the service facility telling Lawdogg that the No. 6 valvetrain had failed. The dealer couldn't research the issue further, though, as General Motors requested the engine be returned for a more thorough evaluation. The good news for the Z06's unlucky owner, at least, is that GM will be covering the engine replacement under warranty, an expense that Corvette Forum estimates is a nearly $24,000 procedure. At this point, the two leading theories behind the engine's detonation involve a manufacturing defect – which could be why GM is so keen to tear the blown powerplant down – or a mistake on the part of Lawdogg. As Motor Authority points out, such an error could be something as simple as the Z06's owner accidentally shifting to first rather than third during his 35-mph pull. If, however, there's a deeper manufacturing problem with the Z06's engine, this might not be the only case we end up hearing about.
