Interior is nice but not perfect. Has some scratches and dings in paint, but I am being very critical, this car presents very well.Fuel tank has a dent but has no,leaks. Broken vent window but I have replacement glass."

Up for auction is my 57 Chevy Belair Sport Coupe. This car is best described as a Sunday driver.

Lets begin with the body, All of the panels are rust free and straight with the exception of some minor bubbling in the paint in the lower front pass. door and the lower trunk, you would not notice if they were not pointed out. The body is solid as a rock!

Paint is shiny and very presentable, has a few scratches but overall very nice. The frame floors, rockers, body supports and trunk are really nice there was some very minor patch work done some years ago but no complete panel replacement, the car did not require extensive repair.
The chrome is very nice with the exception of the front bumper. The bumper is straight but the chrome is not good. The rear bumper, tail lights, headlight doors and front grille bar, have all been replaced and are in excellent condition.
The stainless trim is all intact and although not perfect is very presentable.

The interior was done at some point and is in very nice condition. It is black vinyl ,with old school diamond tuck and roll inserts, new door panels and carpets were installed as well.
The heater controls and vent controls were recently restored and all is working well.
All  of the lights work as well as the speedometer and fuel, gauge. (The fuel gauge is inaccurate due to a dent in the fueltank, but it still works and runs out at one half. Tank does not leak.) There are gauges mounted under the dash for , battery, temp, and oil, pressure, and all operate as expected.
All of the glass is good except for a crack in the passenger vent window, I have a replacement.

Under the hood is a newer 350/300 crate motor, with polished aluminum intake new ebelbrock carb. HEI distributor. The engine has about 4000 miles on it. The transmission is a completely rebuilt Turbo350 with a mild shift kit and new torque converter.
There are new stainless headers and new dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. ( This sounds awesome).

This car is a blast to drive and is done mechanically. Looks awesome make it perfect or drive as is.
I am selling the car with the wide whites and factory hubcaps. If you want the Billet Specialties wheels and BFG's add $1,500.00 to the final bid and I will include both sets.

This vehicle is being sold AS IS, WHERE IS WITH NO WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. I encourage bidders to come and see the vehicle or have it inspected by their representative.
My feedback is and has always been 100 percent because I go put of my way to be as accurate with my descriptions as possible. I note the most minor flaws and there are no surprises when you get your vehicle. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer but I will assist in storage to accommodate the sale. 24 Hours of Le Mans live update part two

Sun, Jun 19 2016

We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice. Parker lives in Hawaii and can hold his breath longer than he can go without swearing. For Part One, click here. Or you can skip ahead to Part Three here. I write about surfing for a living. If you can call it a living. Basically means I spend my days fucking around and my wife pays for everything. Because she's got a real job that pays well. Brings home the bacon. Very progressive arrangement. Super twenty first century. I run a surf website, beachgrit.com, with two other guys. It's a strange gig. More or less uncensored. Kind of popular. Very good at alienating advertisers. My behavior has cost us a few bucks. I'm terrible at self-censorship. Know there's a line out there, no idea where it lies. I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. For contests I do long rambling write ups. They rarely make much sense. Mainly just talk about my life, whatever random thoughts pop into my head. "Can you do something similar for Le Mans?" "Sure, but I know absolutely fuck-all about racing." "That's okay. Just write what you want." "Will do. But you're gonna need to edit my stuff. Probably censor it heavily." So here I am. I spent the last week trying to learn all I can about the sport of endurance racing. But there's only so much you can jam in your head. And I still don't understand any of the technical side. Might as well be astrophysics or something. While I rambled things were happening. Tracy Krohn spun into the gravel on the Forza chicane. #89 is out of the race after an accident I missed. Pegasus racing hit the wall on the Porsche curves. Bashed up front end, in the garage getting fixed. Toyota and Porsche are swapping back and forth in the front three. Ford back in the lead in GTE Pro. #91 Porsche took a stone through the radiator, down two laps. Not good. The wife and I are one of those weird childless couples that spend way too much time caring for the needs of their pet. French bulldog, Mr Eugene Victor Debs. Great little guy. Spent the last four years training him to be obedient and friendly. Nice thing about dogs, when you're sick of dealing with them you can just lock 'em in another room for a few hours. You don't need to worry about paying for college.

Chevy shows much-improved 2014 Corvette interior in new video

Mon, 11 Feb 2013

If you want a closer look at what went into designing and building the interior for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, we've got just the thing. General Motors has released a new video detailing the cabin's evolution from conception to execution, complete with commentary from Ryan Vaughn, performance car interior design manager with Chevrolet. The quick clip details how manufacturing, engineering and design within General Motors worked together from the first sketches to ensure no compromises had to be made later down the line. How novel.
With plenty of hides traced with contrast stitching and available real carbon fiber trim, the cabin looks to be a few hundred miles ahead of the C6. Given how readily critics derided the previous generation for its cabin, the C7 should make writers work a little harder to find something to complain about. Check out the video below for yourself.

Plug In 2014: VIA makes the case for 'free' plug-in hybrid work vans, trucks

Fri, Aug 1 2014

If you're a fleet manager who's been waiting anxiously for the chance to buy a plug-in hybrid van from Via Motors, your wait is almost over. If you work for the right fleet, anyway. David West, the chief marketing efficer for VIA Motors, took AutoblogGreen for a ride around the San Jose Convention Center in a Via van sporting an Electric Blue paint job as part of the Plug In 2014 Conference this week and gave us an update on how things are coming along. The big news is that the Via PHEV van production is going to start by the end of September. Via can currently build two vans an hour at its production plant in Mexico, or about 16 a day and could easily double that. "That would get us to 20,000 a year with two full lines running," West said. "We have the capacity." "There is no way gas can compete with electric." – David West, Via Motors But they can't sell that many quite yet. By the end of December, around 350 Vans will be made, mostly for a $20-million program from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the South Coast Air Quality Management District that will see the vehicles used by fleets that will report energy data to the Idaho National Lab. Via is also finishing up CARB certification for both the van and the company's plug-in hybrid pick-up truck. About 50 percent of Via's technology in the truck will not need to be tested again, since it's the same as what's in the van, but things like crash tests will need to be done twice. Despite the progress, this is not where Via hoped it would be today. The bankruptcy of battery supplier A123, "took about a year off our timeline," West said. "It's been getting a little slow getting it to market, there have been some challenges, particuarly since we had the country's worst recession right in the middle of this wrap up, but it's inevitable in my mind. There is no way gas can compete with electric." Maybe that's why FedEx has expressed an interest in buying around 5,000 units, West said. FedEx already has some pilot vehicles, just like Verizon does, and PG&E wants to replace all of their gas trucks with electric vehicles, which would be another 3,000 sales, he said. Besides the fuel savings, vehicles like these, with easy on-site power generation, could also work wonders in post-disaster situations, he said, since they could replace the need for generators.
