I am selling my project car that I have had for nearly 5 years because I have finally given up on the dream of getting it finished.  My original intentions were to strip it down and make a drag car out of it, but $$$ got to be a little too much for me. I have lost interest in this project and would like to see someone with the desire to get it back on the road have a chance.

Here are the details:

1966 Chevrolet Bel Air (Biscayne/Impala) 2 door

350 V8/TH350 Auto - Engine is out of a 1980 Chevy truck that had very low miles. Has a mild cam, Performer intake, and Edelbrock 750 carb. Has headers, but NO exhaust. Trans works good (when last driven) and has a shift kit.  Car has a 12 bolt rear. Also has newer tires on the front and completely bald tires on the rear (275/60/15). Wheels are GM ralleys. Car has an awesome stance and looks great. Note: The mileage listed in the description is a guess because Ebay required you to put something.  The odometer reads 24000 but actual miles are unknown.

The interior leaves a little to be desired.  It is all there, but it is all in rough shape.  Seats need recovered, headliner needs replaced, door panels look a little rough, etc..

The body appears to be in good shape, as does the paint.  There are a few dings as you can see in the pictures:                                                                                                                        1. the front valance in front of the hood has a scratch with missing paint.                                                                                                                                                                                 2. on the driver's side rear quarter panel, there is a spot where the paint is cracked from something hitting it that was in the trunk                                                                                        3. on the trunk lid there is what looks like a ding from a bullet???

All of these things were there when I purchased the car.  The trunk appears to be in good shape, as do the floorboards (the photo shows rust, but it looks like surface rust only on the drivers side).

The car needs a starter and a battery to run, and needs a serious tune-up to run good.  I believe the valves need to be reset as this motor has not even been broken in since the cam was installed.  I am honestly just completely burnt out on cars and have no interest in fixing these simple things.

This would make the perfect project car for someone.  It would probably take too much to make a show car (my opinion) but would make an excellent driver/drag car/resto-mod. Much cheaper than a Camaro, Chevelle, Nova, Corvette, etc.

There are a couple things that will be included with the car: 1. I have a brand new trunk seal for it as the one on it needs replaced. 2. a large aftermarket front sway bar (not sure of brand, might be Hotchkiss???). I removed this as I was trying to make the front end lighter for racing.

I do have a pair of Moser axles for this car that I am listing separately, but will sell to the buyer of the car if you want them.

I know I am forgetting things so please ask if you have questions.

All Sales are Final and everything is being SOLD AS IS.  Please ask any questions BEFORE bidding.  It is up to the BUYER to arrange for pick up or shipping.

Fewer than 1 in 3 Chevy dealers earn right to initially sell C7 Corvette

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Looking to make the launch of the 2014 Corvette Stingray as efficient as possible, Chevrolet will be limiting the numbers of its dealers that can sell the all-new coupe and convertible. According to Automotive News, sales of the C7 Corvette will initially be limited to less than a third of Chevy's total dealership network when the 'Vette goes on sale this summer.
Only 900 dealers out of more than 3,000 locations nationwide will be allowed to sell the new Corvette at first, and the reason for this is so that there are no shortages at dealers that can actually get the cars sold. The article says that the 900 dealerships chosen represented 80 percent of total Corvette sales in 2012.
Some of the requirements dealers had to make to get initial allocation of Stingray sales include having sold at least four Corvettes in 2012 and having a Corvette Stingray specialist who will be required to have gone through a training session costing more than $2,000 per attendee. Once demand for the 2014 Corvette Stingray begins to subside - approximately six to nine months after it goes on sale - then allocation could open up to more dealers, but the report indicates this could happen following the 2014 model year.

GMC Canyon, Chevy Colorado diesels finally heading to dealers

Fri, Jan 1 2016

Customers who have been waiting to receive their diesel-powered Chevrolet Colorados and GMC Canyons should be relived to hear that GM will finally start to ship them out of the Wentzville Assembly Plant. "The highly anticipated 2016 GMC Canyon diesel has begun shipping to dealers," a company spokesperson confirmed to The Detroit News. The trucks originally had a fall launch date, but a final review forced a delay in deliveries. The 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel in the midsize trucks produces 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and the company touts the engine's low emissions. The Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board even put the mill through extra scrutiny with a real world test in the wake of VW's diesel scandal, and the Duramax passed with no problems. At that time, a Chevy spokesperson told Autoblog that the models' launch was on track. The Duramax engine adds $3,730 to the price of a comparable V6 model, but they're the most fuel-efficient pickups on the market. The EPA estimates the twins at 31 miles per gallon highway, 22 mpg city, and 25 mpg combined in two-wheel drive form and 29/20/23 with four-wheel drive. Buyers likely can't wait to finally experience these pickups after reading a heap of positive reviews. The Colorado diesel recently earned Motor Trend's Truck of the Year award. We also came away impressed with it during our First Drive and liked the Canyon during our Quick Spin. Related Video:

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
