Beautifully restored 1964 Chevy Bel-Air wagon. Awesome professionally done patina paint job protected by flat clearcoat. Pictures don't do the paint justice it looks great in person, and fools everyone that looks at it. The best part is you get that great patina look and there is no real rust on the car! This car started off as a very clean rust free 64 wagon, the whole drivetrain was removed, the power glide transmission was cleaned up and got a brand new 2500 stall converter. The engine is a freshly built 4 bolt main 350, scat forged rotating assembly, h-beam rods, and wiseco pistons, compression is around 10.5 to 1, topped off with edelbrock performer aluminium heads and an air gap intake manifold. A brand new 650 Quick Fuel carb was installed and this thing runs SWEET! WIth the nice lumpy cam in this small block and the long tube headmen headers going to a straight through exhaust this thing rumbles like a big block. Everything is kept cool under the hood with an aluminium 3 core radiator and a good old reliable mechanical fan. The car rolls on a brand new set of Beautiful 18" and 20" JDwheels and brand new tires. The rear brakes have been rebuilt and adjusted properly and the fronts were replaced with a very nice disc conversion complete with drilled rotors and power booster along with stainless lines up front. The interior on the car is original and in very good shape for it's age. The upholstery on the seats looks like it's brand new. The only thing that could use upgrading would be the door panels and carpet. All the windows roll up and down as they should, all the lights and blinkers work, the windshield wipers and horn all function properly. This car is a blast to drive and gets a ton of attention. I build and restore classics and hot rods for a living and more pictures of this car can be seen on my website at www.AustinsAutoworks.com My info is on there as well if you would like to ask any questins or come look at the car. Good luck and happy bidding. A deposit of $500 must be made within 24 hours of the auction end, please don't waste your time or mine, don't bid on the car if you don't have the money or means to come and get it, Thanks for looking!

Some 2012-13 Chevy Volts may not have enough battery coolant
Mon, Jun 23 2014The 2012 and 2013 model year Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle may have a battery glitch caused by low coolant levels. No recall has been issued and General Motors is taking care of the issue at no cost to drivers. Some of the affected Volts may have lower-than-advisable coolant levels because of some pesky air pockets in the car's cooling circuit. When the coolant levels get too low, the charging system for the battery powering the car's onboard generator (i.e. the Rechargeable Energy Storage System, or the RESS) may be shut down, turning one's Volt into a run-of-the-mill gas-powered car, and a pricey one at that. The Car Connection says GM is advising owners of the '12 and '13 Volts to contact their local Chevy dealer for a free fix. GM representatives didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from AutoblogGreen for more details. We believe this is a separate issue than the one that brought 8,000 Volts back to the dealers for a battery coolant fix, what GM called a "voluntary customer satisfaction effort," a few years ago. General Motors sold 23,094 Chevy Volts last year after selling 23,461 Volts in 2012, so that fix-it list may get fairly lengthy. Check out a GM-Volt.com user thread related to this issue here. *UPDATE: Chevrolet spokesman Randy Fox confirmed in an e-mail to AutoblogGreen that the company issued a service bulletin to dealers that they may need to top off coolant levels on certain Volts because of the issue, and that the vehicle will "return to normal charging operation" once that's done.
LG Chem's troubled Chevy Volt battery plant hiring once again
Thu, Sep 25 2014The Michigan battery plant known for paying its workers to do nothing has turned things around and is now hiring more workers, specifically to do something. South Korea-based LG Chem, which runs the factory to supply the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle with its lithium-ion batteries, held a job fair recently to bring on 40 new employees in order to meet higher battery demand, according to WZZM, the ABC affiliate for Grand Rapids, MI. The LG Chem factory is in Holland, MI, about 30 miles west of Grand Rapids, and it made its first batteries last year. Prior to that, though, the factory gained notoriety after a US Department of Energy (DOE) probe found that workers there were getting paid to do, well, nothing. That's because demand for the battery packs was so low that it cost less for the plant to sit idle. The DOE was conducting the probe because of its financial grant to LG Chem. But that was then and today is today. LG Chem is looking to ramp up production in advance of the second-generation Volt. That 2016 model-year version is said to have a longer all-electric range and better performance and will ride on a new chassis, but few official details have surfaced. We will know more when we get our first look at the car at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
