1960 Chevrolet Parkwood Wagon Rat Rod Hot Rod Patina Bagged Air Ride on 2040-cars
Lebanon, Ohio, United States
1960 Parkwood wagon with four corner digital remote air ride. Car runs excellent and drives out nice. It rides on 20 & 18 Boss 338's with new tires. Car has a 355 with a nice cam. Recent valve adjustment, new plugs, and wires. Holley 750 carb with manual choke. Trans is a 400 turbo with a 3200 stall. All Aluminum on the engine is new. This car will sit in traffic all day and NOT OVERHEAT. Has flowmasters that produce an incredible sound. The body on the car is nice and appears pretty solid. With that said it is a patinaed car and does have small dents lots of scratches and some spots where paint is lifting. The tailgate has some rust in the bottom and is hard to see on a walk around. I have included a picture of this. The doglegs are super in this car and the front pans are new, not a hack job. The interior is all new with the exception of the excellent original headliner. The carpet is new loop style black. The seats and door panels have been treated with a sharp houndstooth interior. The car is super comfortable and grabs attention everywhere it goes. It does drip a few quarter size drops of oil and tranny fluid while sitting over night, but nothing major. Speedo does not work has aftermarket temp and oil guages as factories were pretty much useless. Has a tach placed inside one of the instrument pods on dash and looks factory. Oil pressure and water temp guages were also placed in a factory bezel and mounted on the floor. All lights work properly including the dome light. Gas guage works but not like new. Full tank shows as 3/4 and low tank will read as 1/4. The guage moves as you drive so knowing this you will not run out of fuel. The airride is the Airride technologies Elevel Ride Pro 2. It has two compressors and three tanks mounted in spare tire compartment all dynomatted. It is a quiet system. This is a manual steering car. All glass is nice with no cracks and windshield is new. Heater works great. No wipers, but has all arms. Probably needs a new motor but I never investigated it. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Any questions contact me at 513-315-9976. As always I recommend that you view the vehicle in person or send an inspector to view it. Car is sold as is with no warranty. GM applies for LT5, LTX trademarks... are new small block variants coming?
Mon, 29 Apr 2013Recently discovered General Motors trademark applications for LT4, LT5, LT88 and LTX have observers wondering what kind of high-performance offerings could be on their way. A new LT4 would mark a return of the engine designation first used on the Corvette Grand Sport, SLP Pontiac Firehawk and SLP Chevrolet Camaro SS from 1996 and 1997. Supposition at Corvette Forum - which provided advance intel on the C7 like these leaked images - believes a new LT4 could go into the high-performance trim of the next-gen, 2015 Camaro that would be more powerful than the 580-horsepower Camaro ZL1.
Seeing an LT5 again would also be déjà vu - in its former life it was a 5.7-liter V8 for the C4 Corvette ZR-1 from 1990-1994 designed by Lotus, producing from 370 hp to 405 hp. A mix of rumor and hope is that the new LT5 will be a supercharged evolution of the 6.2-liter LT1 (pictured) placed in the new C7 Corvette, and that it will go into the C7 version of the ZR1 pumping out something like 700 hp.
The LTX trademark is, as with that last letter, a complete mystery. If the "X" isn't a generic way to denote the whole LT family, it's wondered if it LTX could refer to a crate motor offering like the LSX.
GM laying off 500 workers to slow Chevy Sonic production
Sat, Oct 24 2015Due to slow sales of the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, General Motors is cutting a shift at the Orion Township plant that builds the pair. The move lays off about 500 workers, but most of them are expected to get offers to transfer to other factories, Automotive News reports. The move came just a day after GM announced adding 1,200 employees to the Detroit-Hamtramck plant. GM has been trying all year at the Orion Township factory to align production of the Sonic and Verano with their demand. The automaker first attempted idling the plant several times and eventually resorted to laying off about 100 workers. It also reduced the production rate there. With the huge rise in popularity of crossovers, demand for the plant's small cars is on the downturn. According to Automotive News, there's currently a 116-day supply of Sonics and 100 days of Veranos to sell. Delivers tell a similar tale because the Chevy is off 35.2 percent from January to September, and the Buick does little better with a 27.2 percent drop from the same period last year. While the situation at Orion Township might look rough now, big things are on the horizon. Soon, the new Chevy Bolt electric vehicle will be built there when it hits the market around 2017. Plus, the plant will also get a $245-million upgrade and 300 new jobs for another, unannounced vehicle.
This SEMA special drag race is absurdly awesome
Fri, Dec 5 2014The SEMA Show came and went last month, and it showed us a ton of heavily modded goodies to dream about during the long, cold winter. The Motor Trend Channel on YouTube is keeping the party rolling a little longer, though, with a drag race inspired by the aftermarket event. All of the hosts were supposed to borrow a vehicle from the show for the big race, but only two of them actually cajoled companies into lending their wares. Still, the result includes four very cool and extremely different examples of the breadth of the automotive hobby. First up, there's a 1955 Chevrolet with a 535-cubic-inch (8.8-liter) Hemi V8 stuffed under the hood. Appropriately, it's dubbed the Blasphemi, and with skinny tires up front, fat rubber in the rear and a stripped interior, this this is made to go very fast in a straight line. Next, there's a stock Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat boasting 707 horsepower. Plus, host Jessi Lang has her dog riding shotgun for the race. A Chevy Sonic RS with some body mods, downpipe and intake is also competing. Finally, the most bizarre of the quartet is a custom 1958 Jeep Forward Control with a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and treads to replace the wheels. Obviously, the Blasphemi and Hellcat are the only two that really have a chance of winning, but check out the video to see which one crosses the finish line first.
