1957 Chevy Sedan. 6 Cylinder Engine. 4 Speed Trans.runs Good...affordable on 2040-cars
United States
This auction is for a 1957 Chevy 4 door Bel Air. It is a good running, fun to drive car that is priced to sell. We traded for this car 3 years ago and it has been sitting in our warehouse until I got challenged to get it on eBay this week.. I am a retired dealer friend of Jim [chargerman6970] and I love the oldies. I also list his vehicles here on eBay.. I sent this car to the shop and they rebuilt the carb and the starter. They also tuned it up and added a hand choke. It already had a new alternator and a new battery.. Now it starts right up the first crank with no smoke or noises.. It has a good clutch and the old school 4 speed transmission works great.. This car does have a new 3.5 gal Moon Eyes aluminum gas tank in the trunk.. There is no original tank and the very bottom of the trunk [floor] is rusty [see pic # 22].. The Moon tank is mounted on a metal plate.. There is also some rust in the passenger floor areas.. The frame is solid and all of the body mounts are in good shape.[see pic # 23]. The spring hangers are free of rust and the inner quarter panel areas inside the trunk are in excellent condition [see pics]. This car has a different steering wheel but does have the original spare and jack.. It has a rare "radio delete plate" in the dash.. This car has new radials mounted on Corvette rallys wheels.. The trim rings and center caps are included in the auction.[ in the trunk]. I just thought the car looked good without them.. It has new seat covers but the headliner is original. The lower half of the car was painted somewhat recently [maybe 5 years ago] but the upper half of the car has not. Note the patina on the trunk.. This car is by no means a show winner but a fun, solid ride to your local cruise ins. I drove it to our local ice cream shop today.. The steering and brakes are good on this car but the speedometer does not work.. The wipers work and there is no radio. All of the doors, the hood and trunk all open and shut solidly but some of the door glass has cracks. The engine in this car has a chrome valve cover and a chrome air breather.. Please study the pics and ask questions before you bid. We are a Ky dealer and follow all dealer guidelines. We sell all vehicles "AS IS". This is an auction so we expect a $500 non-refundable deposit at the end of the auction, preferably by Paypal and full payment within a week. We can help arrange shipping at the buyer's expense.. We can also store the vehicle for a later delivery but payment is still due within a week.. Contact us with you plans as soon as you know them [if you are the winning bidder].. Message us here or call Jim at 606-923-2753 or Pat at 606-547-7050..We do not charge DOC FEES. We have a clear Ky title on this local trade in and a 60 day temp tag is available if you need one.. Proof of insurance is required to obtain a temp tag [state law].. We recommend that you trailer any old car home and not drive it until you become familiar with it.. Thanks for looking at our auction and "Good Luck" bidding. On May-12-14 at 20:48:59 PDT, seller added the following information: We've lowered the reserve to $6500.. Next Bid meets the reserve... Let's have an auction!!! Thanks and "Good Luck".. |

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible is the track car for sun worshippers
Fri, 11 Apr 2014
Supercharged, 6.2-liter V8? Check. Seven-speed manual? Check. Obsession with weight? Check.
What did you expect when Chevrolet said it was bringing a new Corvette variant to the 2014 New York Auto Show? Maybe a sticker and trim package, like the C6 Corvette Grand Sport or a tie-in deal like the Black Widow car from Chicago? On the opposite end, maybe there was an even more hardcore Z06 waiting in the wings. Who knew?
