For sale is a 1957 Chevy Belair 4 dr. sedan. This is a 6 cylinder powerglide car with 68,000 original miles. I bought it from the second owner, who purchased it from the original owner in 1983, with 64,519 miles on it. He drove the car from 1983 till 1995 and put a little more than 4000 miles on it, the tags on the car when I got it expired in 1995, so it hadn't been driven for 17 years. This car was built in Baltimore MD and sold new in Winchester, VA. I have the original receipt from the dealer, it sold for $2300 in July of 1957. This car is located about 15 miles from where it was sold new and has always been in this area. It is all original except the carpet, which I replaced when I got it because the original was dry rotted. I have pictures of the floor when I had the carpet out. It has a new trunk mat, 4 new radial tires, new radiator hoses, new gas gauge sending unit, new fuel pump, new plugs and plug wires, new Distributor cap, points and rotor button,  4 new wheel cylinders, and a new master cylinder.

The car is the original color, Dusk Pearl and White, but has been repainted with a basecoat/clearcoat. Everything on the car works, and the motor sounds good and doesn't smoke. the transmission shifts like new as well. All glass is good and the trunk and door weather stripping has been replaced. I just decided I don't want to keep the car.

I'm including lots of pictures, but if you have any questions feel free to ask. This is a really nice all original 57 Chevy. This is a very nice original car but is sold with no warranty or guarantee, inspection before buying can be arranged. This car is also for sale locally and may be sold before the listing ends.

If you win this auction I will require a $200 non refundable deposit through Paypal with the balance due before the car is delivered. Any checks or bank drafts must clear before the car can be picked up.

This car is being relisted due to the last person, who bid on the car and won the auction, not replying to my emails to complete payment. I reported him to Ebay and he was given a no pay credit.

First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 Sells For One Million Dollars

Mon, Apr 14 2014

NASCAR team owner Rick Hendrick loves buying first-built Chevrolet models for charity. He paid $1 million to buy the first production 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible and $650,000 to get the first 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28. Hendrick's latest purchase happened at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach where he got into a bidding war to pay $1 million to get the first 2015 Corvette Z06. The bidding came quick with the car reaching $100,000 within 3 seconds and hitting $500,000 in about 35 seconds. The money from the sale was donated to the Karmanos Cancer Institute. GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.

Nissan Leaf sets new November sales record, Chevy Volt drops again

Tue, Dec 2 2014

When you talk to people in the plug-in vehicle industry, one theme you hear repeatedly is that the more plug-in cars that are out there, the better things are for everyone. One reason is that more EVs build a need for more public chargers, and more chargers mean more people see that plugging in is feasible. But there's still something to be said for old-fashioned competition, and in the sales race between the two long-running plug-in vehicles in the US, the Nissan Leaf is resoundingly beating the Chevy Volt for 2014. In fact, it won't be long before the EV's cumulative sales top the PHEV's. But that's a topic for another month. For now, we have the sales results from November. Unsurprisingly, Nissan set another monthly record (that is, the best Leaf sales in any November, the 22nd time in a row we've seen a monthly record) with 2,687 sales last month. That's up 34 percent over last November and up 35 percent year-to-date. Toby Perry, Nissan's director of electric vehicle marketing, said in a statement that, "Our 'Kick Gas' ad campaign and 'No Charge to Charge' launch in Chicago and Atlanta drove an increase in November Leaf sales. Even with gas prices falling across the country, consumers appreciate that the cost of driving a Nissan Leaf is still a fraction of that of a gas-powered car." Over on the Chevy side of the ledger, there were 1,336 Volt sales last month, down 30.4 percent from the 1,920 sold in November 2013. So far this year, Volt sales are down 16.4 percent and Chevy has sold 17,315 Volts in 2014. As we said last month, the Volt slump might be due to people waiting on the new version to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show next month before going on sale in the second half of 2015. So far in 2014, Nissan has sold 27,098 Leafs. Look for our detailed post of US green car sales in the near future. Until then, please discuss last month's Leaf and Volt sale in the comments, below.
