1957 4dr. chevy for fun ! I fixed the brake lines and the fuel and trans lines, someone put a newer gas tank and sending unit and straps, I put new stock mufflers and dual exhaust from the old header pipes all the way back, new coker wide white walls and chrome cragar vette wheels with cop caps and 57 tri bar spinners, it looks like all the chrome on the front was replaced along with the grill, the back looks like the bumper ends and tail light housings were replaced all the stainless trim on the outside is there, the paint and body work is rough ( 50 footer) the front springs are newer but shorter,  I'd do front bushings some of the body mounts under the outer floor pans are rusted and some of the frame rail needs to be patched. nothing that can't be fixed with a grinder and a welder and some steel (THIS MUST BE FIXED TO BE ROAD WORTHY DON'T BUY THIS CAR IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT) this car lot drives great but must be repaired. trans leaks it does come with a new pan gasket and tail shaft seal but I'm not sure where it's leaking from. I think the engine and trans and radiator is around the 1964 year not a cast iron powerglide, motor is quiet and seems to run great! newer alternator and I  put the right harness on the alt so it does charge. for someone who likes to do these repairs this is the car for you! and the bottom line in the end it's a cheap 57 chevy ! that always has a resale value. also comes with a aftermarket radio/player, antenna kit, and some black and red cheap seat covers, fronts look like impala buckets? also a PRNDL floor shifter. THIS COMES WITH A NY REGISTRATION NO TITLE BEFORE 1972 IN NY what you see is what your buying AS IS NO GURANNTES please ask questions I'll gladly answer SMOKEY

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

Watch how Corvette Racing's new collision-avoidance radar system works

Fri, 22 Mar 2013

When it comes to technology used in racecars, we generally expect it to trickle down to production cars, not the other way around. Well, Pratt & Miller has developed a new rear-facing radar that operates in a similar fashion to what we're used to in modern blind spot detection systems, only it is also capable of tracking cars as they approach and relaying vital information to the driver via a large display screen.
The innovative radar system debuted at last weekend's 12 Hours of Sebring for Corvette Racing, and this system makes perfect sense for endurance races like this since the cars sometimes have to drive through the night and in poor weather conditions.
The radar can detect cars even with poor visibility, and uses easy-to-distinguish symbols for the driver to identify.

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.
