Classic 1957 Chevrolet Belair 150/210 Convertible

CHECK OUT OUR OVER 2800 POSTIVE FEEDBACKS!!!!

This 1957 Chevrolet Belair convertible has a black exterior with red interior from day one 1957 and has not had a color change like so many 57's you see these day's. It has a 283 PP, 4 barrel, automatic, power glide trans, power brakes, power top with all its options listed below in one of the pictures.
This old car is a survivor and I will guarantee any collector that this car has all its original body sheet metal that the car was born with back in 1957 from the factory assembly line and has never been taken apart and put back together.
Original body, fenders, quarters, doors, trunk floor, body floors, rockers, all sheet metal from day one. Original chrome and stainless from 1957 with a virgin unhit body. Note the new seat belts installed for safety.
This car spent most of its life in dry inland California. It was sold new in Pennsylvania and was moved out west shortly afterward. This car was factory undercoated from new. If you Chevrolet guys know anything about factory undercoat from this era…it was bullet proof! The metal beneath it is like brand new on the body mounts and under the hood, fenders, rockers . Spotless rust free under carriage everywhere. Check out the unrestored under carriage photographs. Lazar straight original body shows some nicks after 56 years but the old paint still shines with a great reflection.
I also have 4 original minty 1957 steel wheels with 4 original minty 57 spinner hubcaps and original fender skirts. {Please Note} I did not take photo's of the motor #'s on the 283PP motor in the car as it was to hard to photo. I have a date coded extra 1957 283 motor to go along with the car. I have taken pictures of the free extra motor with casting dates and the front engine pad stamping. This extra motor will all be included with the purchase of this car for the new owner. The spare motor appears to read #F1129EB. 283 high lift cam 270 dual four engine. Nov 23rd casting date 1956 two months before this cars Jan 57 build date on this extra motor. The broach marks look great. This extra motor was built 2 months before this cars factory build date and would be a nice complement for this car. This motor was a running motor before it was removed from a 57 Chevy and turns over easy by hand.
The Craiger 5 spoke wheels are minty and can be removed and the new owner could put on the original 1957 wheels with white wall tires and fender skirts to go back fully stock. I love the old school Craiger five spoke wheels.
These old 57 Chevy convertibles are very rare to find unmolested without rust repair patch panels ever. Check out the original paint in the motor compartment and trunk. Many 57's have been restored from rust buckets and now look like show cars. This car is truly a needle in the haystack to find original body with a very desirable color of black with red interior. Turn key and enjoy summer cruising. The convertible top also works great up and down. How many no rust repair patch panel 1957’s have you seen lately?
Please call for a full and honest description and to make an appointment to come view this great classic at my home. Runs and drive's great with plenty of receipts for all new brakes, tune up and plenty more. You will not be disappointed!! I highly recommend you bring your expert for full inspection as previously mentioned..he will be amazed at the original patina condition of this time capsule. Due to the fact this car is over 56 years old I am selling with TRUE MILEAGE UNKNOWN. Thank you for looking. Please call 978-939-5053 for full information before bidding.

GM profits threatened by glut of pickups

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

Automotive News reports that General Motors may slash production or ramp up discounts in order to deal with an oversupply of pickup trucks. GM currently has more than double the standard supply of pickups, and the vehicles are threatening to dampen the automaker's profits for 2013. Typically, automakers try to sustain a 60- to 75-day supply of vehicles, but GM is currently loaded with a 139-day supply, as of last month. At the end of November, the automaker was sitting on 245,853 units.
The manufacturer says that it will adjust production accordingly before laying any incentives on the profitable pickups. Even so, there's some concern that the inventory swell could hurt the roll-out of the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. GM actually began slowly stepping back production in August, but it's clear the company will take further action as it heads toward the end of the year and into the next. Analysts predict the automaker could reduce pickup manufacturing by nearly half in the first quarter of 2013.
That still may not be enough to keep GM from laying extra cash on the Silverado and GMC Sierra. While the company's incentive spending was down in November compared to the same month in 2011, both the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 saw double-digit percentage increases in sales last month while the Silverado and Sierra numbers slid compared to a year prior. Incentive spending could help move more trucks and add some balance to the GM inventory surge.

Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme

Mon, 17 Dec 2012

They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.

My year in EVs: 8 electrics that are changing the car industry

Wed, Dec 1 2021

The year 2021 will go down as an inflection point in the auto industry’s transition to electric vehicles. It's when many much-anticipated models became reality. No longer sketches or sketchy prototypes, electric vehicles appeared from all corners with everything from the Lucid Air to Ford Mustang Mach-E changing how we think about transportation. I managed to drive a lot of them, and as I went through my notes, I realized IÂ’ve got a mini memoir of the seminal EVs of 2021. HereÂ’s my take on eight of them. Hummer EV Easily the most over-the-top EV I tested this year. The 1,000-hp super truck lived up to the hype with its domineering presence, stupendous power and simply being a reincarnated Hummer. I took it for a short spin on- and off-road at the General Motors Proving Grounds in Milford, Mich., and was impressed with the airy cabin, removable sky panels and expansive touchscreens. Yes, I crab walked, which felt like steering a pontoon boat, though I can see why it would be useful. Lucid Air Dream Performance The most beautiful sedan I tested all year, EV or otherwise. Unlike the futuristic Mercedes EQS — which is quite attractive — LucidÂ’s car is a blend of mid-century modern interior aesthetics and classic European exterior styling. When I walked up for my test drive, someone who IÂ’m pretty sure was comedian Jon Lovitz was sitting inside and taking it all in. As it sat in the valet of a hotel in a wealthy suburban enclave north of Detroit, the Lucid drew more attention than any of the Mercedes, Cadillacs or Lexus models passing by. The driving experience was enveloping. Starting at $169,000 for the Performance model (reservations are closed), the Lucid I sampled packed 1,111 hp and 471 miles of range. From the precise steering to the comfortable suspension, the dynamics were spot-on. It's a formidable product, and all the more impressive given itÂ’s LucidÂ’s first. Chevy Bolt EV The Bolt was the most pleasant surprise for me. It handled well, offered low-to-the-ground hot hatch dynamics and the steering was dialed-in. Adding a crossover variant for the new generation was a smart play. On a summer morning where I went to a first drive of the Ford Bronco at an off-road course, my hour-long commute in the Bolt was an enjoyable appetizer.  The Bolt was also my biggest disappointment due to its extensive recalls for fire risk. Ironically, I had the Bolt in my driveway when the initial recall went out for the previous generation (2017-19).
