1957 2 Door 210 Handyman Wagon Completely Restored on 2040-cars
Rocklin, California, United States
What you are bidding on is a very nice and completely restored 1957 two door 210 Handyman Wagon in great shape. I will do my best to describe the wagon. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email, call or text via the phone number I have listed below. I know in the proper market this car could bring a lot of money, however my reserve is still low considering how much money I have into the car.
Exterior: The wagon has a brand new two stage black paint job done at a local custom hot shop. The paint has been cut and buffed and it looks great. The chrome has all been done at a custom chrome shop out of Los Angeles, CA. The pictures speak for themselves. Rust free has always been a California car. Also what I could not rechrome was purchased new with the exception of the side trim with was a pretty good shape. Interior: The interior has custom reupholstered seats and they look amazing. New carpet, new headliner, custom center console with stereo and gauges. The trunk area of the car has custom wood to finish off the cool look. It does have a CD player with speakers. Drivetrain: The motor is a 5.7 liter Vortec V8 with a Th350 transmission. The motor was converted to run an Edelbrock carb 750 cfm and new Edelbrock performer intake. The exhaust on the car is also brand new and it sounds great. The car runs and drives great with no issues. It handles really well on the freeway. It also has disc brakes in the front and no overheat issues. Again, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at anytime. Clean title with pink in hand and current California registration I also do have the car locally advertised and reserve the right to end the auction early if the car is sold. If you have questions please call me at 916-262-6971. |

GM, UAW poaching Nissan workers in Tennessee
Tue, Sep 8 2015General Motors and the United Auto Workers are going on a recruitment drive at the Spring Hill factory in Tennessee, and they're hoping to poach some skilled workers from Nissan's nearby plant in Smyrna, TN. The General and the union even bought a billboard advertising for industrial electricians near the Japanese automaker's facility, according to the Daily News Journal. The reason for the billboard was simple. "GM was short of electricians," said Tim Stannard, the president of the UAW local at Spring Hill, to the Daily News Journal. The factory currently builds the Chevrolet Equinox but has a contract to assemble the next generation of Ecotec engines and the Cadillac XT5, which replaces the SRX. Thanks to the $185-million deal, employment there is expected to double by May 2016, according to Stannard, with roughly 1,800 additional union jobs. Beyond just several billboards, GM has job postings online for the Spring Hill plant looking for workers with specific skills. There has already been some interest in the positions among Nissan employees, Stannard indicated. According to a recent study by the Center for Automotive Research, the average GM worker currently makes $58 an hour, including benefits. Comparatively, Nissan pays an average of $42 an hour with benefits. The General's number could change in the coming weeks because its contract with the UAW is about to expire, and higher wages are among the major negotiating points.

Recharge Wrap-up: Tesla sells Model S 85 and 70D in Malaysia, Chevy Spark EV built using clean energy
Mon, May 18 2015Tesla will send Model S 70D and Model S 85 EVs to Malaysia for leasing to government-linked companies. Only those companies will have access to the models as a two-year lease, which will be imported and leased by Malaysian Green Technology Corporation. The plan is part of an initiative by the Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water to allow government officials and other influential people to get to know the electric vehicles and the benefits that come along with them. Most of the 120 vehicles available will be the 70D model, and the lessee companies will have the option to purchase the cars at the end of the two years. Read more from Paul Tan's Automotive News. Wanxiang is hosting students from Delaware in China as part of a program to learn Mandarin and visit schools and science and technology sites. Wanxiang, the auto parts company that acquired Fisker (which had manufacturing based in Delaware) and battery maker A123 Systems, will give the students tours of its solar technology facilities, among other places, and see what daily life is like for families in the region. The program helps students interested in science and technology to foster marketable skills — like learning a foreign language — that will help them get jobs in industries around the world. The e-motors building of the General Motors Baltimore Operations complex has a new rooftop solar array and uses LED and CFL lighting, helping the building recently earn LEED Silver certification. The landfill-free facility also takes advantage of the 1.23-megawatt solar array on the grounds, helping it source six percent its energy from renewable sources. The plant has reduced its energy intensity by 15.5 percent in three years, and continues to work toward reducing consumption and sourcing clean energy. "We believe reducing our environmental footprint is good for the climate and good for our business," says GM Executive Director of Global Public Policy Greg Martin.
