1956 Chevy Bel Air Resto-mod on 2040-cars
Houston, Texas, United States
1956 Chevy Bel Air 2-dr post, GM 350 Crate Motor, Ramjet Fuel Injection, 700R4 trans, custom aluminum radiator, Power Steering 4-wheel power disc brakes, 2-inch dropped spindles and lowering springs in front, lowering blocks in back (geometry is correct), 9-inch Ford rear, not certain of the gear ratio - probably around 350. AM/FM cassette player (I know, I know...cheesy), Vintage Air and Heat, new repro interior, tilt Column, power windows up front. Paint is the correct India Ivory/Pinecrest Green. This car is about as clean as they come. The pictures speak for themselves. There is no rust on this car, period! I do not know the history of the car, except that the engine was added last year and only has about 600 miles on it. Lights and signals all work properly, engine temp and oil pressure gauges added under the dash to the left of the steering column. Small toggle switch engages the electric fan. The windows are good, all trim and chrome are in excellent shape. I also have a car cover that is included in the sale.
I am not a dealer. This car came from the collection of an elderly gentleman in Nevada. I cannot say enough about what a fantastic car this is. The car was built to retain the original look with the reliability and comfort of a new car. You will not find a nicer, cleaner, better-built '56 Bel Air anywhere in the country. The title is clear, in hand and registered in my own name, so there will be no title problems. The original VIN tag and cowl trim tag are both intact. I will store the car in my climate-controlled garage until you can arrange transport, or I will pick you up at the airport and you can drive her home. I would not hesitate to drive this car to any destination in the country - it's THAT good. Again, you will not find a better Bel Air than this one. There will be absolutely NO disappointments with this car. Don't let it get away. Certified bank check or wire transfer are the only acceptable methods of payment and shipping is the buyer's responsibility. There is no warranty with the car and the car is sold as is/where is. Please ask questions before you bid. Good luck. |

Michael Jordan's cars showcased in 'The Last Dance' documentary
Sun, May 10 2020After the masses begged and pleaded for an early release, ESPN finally unlocked the doors to the biggest production in company history last month. Episodes 1 and 2 of The Last Dance, a 10-part documentary special about Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls, and the 1997-1998 season, was released at last on April 19, 2020. Each week since, two new episodes have aired on Sunday nights, and the next two, episodes 7 and 8 are scheduled to drop this weekend on May 10. With unprecedented video access to MJ, who became averse to the media during his playing days, a byproduct from The Last Dance is a look at some of Jordan's cars. The Goat's taste ranges across a number of brands, but they all had one thing in common: performance as a top priority. Below, we have listed the rides that have already appeared in the series, and each week, we will update with new car cameos. Chevrolet Corvette C4 The photo above somewhat epitomizes one of the themes of The Last Dance. Everybody, whether that was men, women, children, franchise owners, reporters, coaches, teammates, or opponents, wanted a piece of Jordan. If that meant stopping in the middle of the road to get an autograph, then so be it. Around town, MJ was fairly easy to spot due to his flashy cars that occasionally wore Bulls red. Jordan has driven numerous Corvettes throughout the years, but the C4 is unique in that it was Chevy's top ride when Jordan signed an endorsement deal with the American company during his rookie year in 1984. Two famous photos, one in front of the Chicago skyline, show him standing next to a C4 with the license plate "Jump 23." This exact car, however, came later, as indicated by the squared-off taillights. He went on to star in a number of Chevrolet commercials with vehicles such as the Blazer and S-10 pickup truck. Chevrolet Corvette C5 The most notable Corvette His Airness ever owned was likely the C4 40th Anniversary ZR-1, but he also drove a C5 coupe at one point. Roughly nine minutes into the first episode, Jordan is seen driving the chrome-wheeled targa top into the parking lot at the Berto Center, the Bulls old practice facility. Ferrari 550 Maranello Roughly three minutes into episode four, viewers get a glimpse of Jordan's exotic taste in the form of a red Ferrari 550 Maranello.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th
Tue, 15 Apr 2014It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
