1956 Chevrolet 2 door post, 406 cu in sbc, turbo 400, 3.08 posi rear, 4 wheel power disc brakes, ceramic coated headers, dual exhaust with Flowmasters, all rust removed about 6 years ago with new floor pans and quarters, paint is about 6 years old but shows well, has a couple of small scratches and nicks as the car is frequently driven, bumpers and trim are in excellent shape, aluminum radiator, aluminum intake with Holley 4 brl carb, chrome shroud, 605 power steering box, chrome tilt column, custom steering wheel. Avenger front seats, Chrysler 300 back, full instrumentation, tach, good stereo, American Torque Thrust wheels and excellent tires.

Car is very dependable, doesn't overheat, rides nice, room for the family with plenty of get up and go. I have thoroughly enjoyed the car for the past 5 years, but the time has come to start liquidating my toys. Please see my other auctions for more cars.

Corvette Stingray Convertible images mysteriously appear on web, so we add our own

It was inevitable that we'd see the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray topless at some point, but that didn't make us any less interested when a pair of supposedly leaked official images showed up on theautoinsiderblog.com last week. We posted them on our Facebook page, but held off reporting on them here until we could get a little more information.
Those images, which feature a dark red car on a sterile black studio background, supposedly first appeared on the website of diecast model maker Maisto. A Chevrolet spokesman has been reported saying that they are "not official images released by Chevrolet PR," which isn't a denial they're the real deal, but neither is it a confirmation.
Close examination of the photos suggest they could be official shots of the Corvette Stingray Convertible, and while some have doubted their authenticity due to a lack of vents (which were seen on the C7s that debuted in Detroit last week), it could be that the images are of a base model car without the Z51 package that doesn't require the extra venting and cooling.

UAW to vote on strike at Kentucky Corvette plant

The current wait time for a new Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is well, not short. With word of a strike at the Bowling Green, KY factory responsible for seventh-generation sports car, though, that wait time could end up growing substantially.
Now, a strike is still a ways off. UAW Local 2164, which represents the 800 workers responsible for screwing the Corvette together, is set to vote on authorizing a strike today, but even if the employees give the action a go, it's far from a sure thing. According to The Tennessean, both regional and national union officials would need to put their stamp of approval on strike action.
"The membership has to vote to strike, but it's just a step in the process," said Gary Casteel, the UAW's Region 8 director and one of the people that would need to authorize a strike action. Casteel told The Tennessean, "It's purely a local situation, though. They are having some issues with the local management."
