1955 Chevy Belair Two Door Post on 2040-cars
Saint Cloud, Minnesota, United States
This is a nice driving 55. The paint was done in 2008. The car has a 350 V8 chevy engine and a 350 chevy trans starts right up and shifts with a new B&M shifter with no issues. Has newer updated tilt column to handle the power steering and a brake booster to handle the front disc brakes mounted on lowered spindles. The rest of the drivetrain is pretty much stock with new shocks and a rebuilt front end and some steep gears in the differential which is nice for around town and short trips but driving over 70 mph the pro tach starts to show about 3000 RPM. The blue paint matched with the white pearl makes this car stunning. The stainless is good with some minor dents in the trim, the bumpers are new. The wheels are new Chrome Ralley type wheels with GM centers and rolling on new BF Goodrich Radial TA's. The interior is nice with the power cady seats in the front and the matching seats in the rear. The headliner is white cloth and is ok just showing some wear and there is one hole where the visor would mount. The glass is all ok with no cracks but the right front window has a up and down rub mark on it and the left rear window will come out of the channel if you roll it down, I think the rubber or glue let loose. All of the window felts need to be replaced but I will supply the buyer with a box of all new ones. The items that will need attention: There is no wiper motor but the mechanism is all there, the lights all work but not all the blinkers, there are no sun visors, the heater is not hooked up, the original radio is not working, the engine does have some oil leaks, 3 of the four floor pans were replaced years ago but still look nice as do the inner and outer rockers anf the body mounts. Like I said the car has some issues but nothing that a little tlc can't handle. It is a car you can get in and drive to a show when ever you want. If there is anything you need to know about the car that I have failed to mention let me know and I will always respond with an honest answer. I reserve the right to end auction at any time as it is listed locally. Car is sold as is with no warranty. I will ship world wide at buyers expense after bank transfer is verified.

GMC Envoy could be returning as GM files for 'Envoy' trademark
Thu, Dec 27 2018The GMC Envoy could be on its way back, if a recent GM trademark filing is any indication of the future. To be exact, GM's trademark filing is for the name "Envoy," and is applicable to "motor vehicles, namely, sport utility vehicles, engines therefor and structural parts thereof." A victim of the recession and high gas prices, the original Envoy – related to the Blazer, and more recently the TrailBlazer and similar GM SUVs – was discontinued after the 2009 model year. In today's SUV-happy market of low gas prices, unearthing the somewhat familiar Envoy name makes a certain amount of sense. As soon as gas prices start trending in the other direction, we'll all be saying the opposite, though. What this SUV will take shape as is the big question now. With the Chevrolet Blazer well and truly on its way, there's every reason for a GMC version of Chevy's stylish new crossover sporting the Envoy name. Another, less likely, possibility is a Traverse-sized vehicle to slot between the shorter Acadia (10 inches shorter than the Chevy Traverse) and the body-on-frame Yukon. GM could come out of left field and make the Envoy a Buick too. It fits the bill with the "En" beginning, and Buick undoubtedly has crossovers in the works. We think that's even more unlikely, but it's important to remember that we're still in the speculation phase. Soon we'll drive Chevy's new Blazer, and perhaps have more news then. Check in next week for that. Related video:
GM recalling 118K Colorado, Canyon pickups over missing hood latches
Thu, 20 Dec 2012General Motors has announced a recall of 118,800 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks due to the possibility of secondary hood latches not being installed at the time of manufacture. The affected vehicles are from the 2010, 2011 and 2012 model years, all of which were built between November 9, 2009 and August 28, 2012.
According to the official National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report, these trucks fail to "comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 113, 'Hood Latch System.' The hood may be missing the secondary hood latch." In other words, owners of these trucks could find their vehicles' hoods opening unexpectedly while driving.
The official recall campaign is expected to begin on January 17, 2013. Dealers will inspect the affected pickups and if a secondary hood latch is not present, one will be installed free of charge. Scroll down to read the official NHTSA report.
AMC Trans Am Javelin SST, an ultra-rare underdog, is up for auction
Sat, Sep 9 2023Among the rarest of the American muscle cars that went racing in the early Seventies — cars including the Camaro Z/28 and the Boss 302 Mustang — the 1970 AMC Trans Am Javelin SST may be the most hard to find, and among the most valuable. Only 100 units of this unique Javelin were produced, and one of them is up for auction at the Mecum event in Dallas on September 20. The Trans Am Javelin was fashioned in a patriotic livery of tricolor paint — red, white and blue — and arrived after the American Motors Corporation had decided in 1968 to compete in the Trans Am racing series against Ford and General Motors. The company's chief driver, Mark Donohue, would dominate the 1971 season, taking seven wins in his Javelin AMX and that yearÂ’s SCCA Trans-Am Championship. AMC took the trophy with 82 points, well ahead of Ford's 61, Chevrolet's 17 and Pontiac's paltry 7. The example listed for auction came equipped with a 390-cubic-inch V-8 engine with 325 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 420 pound-feet of torque, power steering and brakes, dual exhaust, BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission and Hurst competition shifter. Its “ram induction system” sealed a chamber around the air filter so that cool air from the functional hood scoop would be funneled into the intake. This JavÂ’s factory price was $3,995 — a mere $32,000 or so in today's money, though it was expensive by the standards of the time. The 100 Trans Ams were among 19,714 Javelin units built in 1970, so they started out rare, and today the surviving examples are highly collectible, if and when they come up for sale. No bid estimate is available yet. Related Video: Motorsports Chevrolet Ford Pontiac Auctions Automotive History Racing Vehicles Classics
