Up for auction is my 1955 Chevy Bel-Air 4dr sedan project car. This is a real bel-air, not a 210 or 150. The car was taken to the next level by me, it's now time to take a major loss and pass it on for somebody else to take off where I left off as I don't have the time to put into it.
Here are the facts.... 1968 chevy 307 V8 cleaned up and installed. It was from an old man Impala with bout 80k on it. I also replaced the heads with 64-66 Chevy 283/327 heads. It needs another day or so to be made to run. New starter as well. Fuel line has to be ran . (I have a new fuel tank not installed). Obvious adjustments of carb and timing.
Transmission is a mid 70's known good TH350 shorttail. It's installed using a modern SPEEDWAY cross member. I also have purchased the shifter rod to make it work with original column (not connected)
This car is a rare 1955 POWER STEERING CAR. Everything is intact! Hooked up to original generator unit that is worth $400 alone.
Clearly seen this car IS NOT for somebody who cannot do their own welding and body work unless you have cash to pay somebody to do it. 3 of the 4 doors already are just about finshed. The forth one was started and not finished. The hood is sandblasted and is alone with $500 if not more, it's just about MINT, perfect corners and NOT ROTTED. The trunk lid also is sandblasted and needs minor work. Floor work was done already, needs a little more here and there (nothing major). I installed correct driverside floor pan and brace under it as well as two outer rocker panels.
The rear as clearly seen has already been cut out to be replaced. I have $400 of new sheet metal that needs to be welded for the back, including last 8 inches of inside of trunk and the actual outer panel.
I have a one piece original rear bumper that is powercoated silver, I have an original front bumper that needs to be painted or tossed in favor of something else.
The original wiring is in the dash and excellent. I also put new wiring under the hood. Did you notice the headliner??? That 's all brand new with windlace costing me $700 to do so....
As far as seats I have an original seat that is complete and needs to be redone as well as a mint set of 2003 Monte Carlo bucket seats. You are getting BOTH! I have the original top half of rear seat but not the bottom . The seat I purchased was for a 2 door (the bottom section is slighly different) Sold that and found that lower halves for 4 doors are out there and rather reasonable.
Again, my loss your gain. I will never get out of this what I've already put in. IT is now 2013, 2 and 4 doors are very close in value. A correct finished 55 Bel-Air 4dr is in the 26,500k spot according to the latest KRAUSE price guide as a 2dr sedan is at 32,000..... Eyes closed any really decent 4dr goes for $12-18k.
This is the ultimate car for somebody who is handy and can take it to the next level. It's an easy money maker if you are a car flipper. I think this actually should be of interest to the SWEEDS.
I am going to be loading this car chock full of parts, parts and more parts. You are getting more than your moneys worth and beyond here!!!! I have some doubles of items , all is going!!!! I am also going to be bolting the hood, doors, and trunk on for transport purpose.
CAR also sports original NOTCH wheels that are worth about $300-400. Excellent bias ply tires of the day
DON'T THINK BOUT bidding on this car, just bid on it and have the funds ready to go. I am in NY 10920. I DO NOT HAVE time to waste with dreamers. I am taking a loss and will consider a "BUY IT NOW" as long as your funds are where your offer is.
CLEARLY STATED, this VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE PAPERWORK. I will write out a written bill of sale. I can aquire paperwork @600, e-mail me if you wish to have me handle it, or handle it on your own. THE VIN TAG is present and can be read.
Catch me while I am hot to lose this. IF I put one month into to and little cash it will run and drive being worth $6000 unfinished easy. My reserve is a joke and I hope it goes up above and beyond it. If not....well it's going anyway. CAR LISTED TO SELL IT, not to waste time.
TERMS OF SALE.... AS IS/WHERE IS IN NY 10920. Funds in cash if local or, direct deposit, or last option bank check. NO PAY PAL, no personal checks. NO TRADES. Must be paid in 7 days of auctions end. All ZERO bidders are going to be deleted if they NOT contact me to verify bids. Anybody shady is also going to be deleted. I have a local man who can haul within 400 miles. If you are beyond that then find a transporter. Going easy you are spending $1000 if not more coast to coast , so again don't waste my time if you don't have the funds to make the deal.
Thanks and best of luck.

Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.

How a Texas Hyundai dealer became the Chevy SSR king
Tue, Apr 21 2015The SSR isn't one of the most appreciated vehicles in Chevy's long history. With a style amalgamating the look of a vintage hotrod, convertible and a pickup, it's really serving a niche market right from the start. However, a Hyundai dealer in Texas has turned selling the cult models into a booming business and has become the de facto king of the quirky truck. According to Automotive News, Paul Peebles runs North Freeway Hyundai in Spring, TX, but he's better known in the Chevy SSR community the premiere seller of the weird model through his used car network. The odd venture started in 2010 when Peebles wanted to boost his pre-owned business and bought several sporty vehicles. Among them were five SSRs, and he threw a cookout for owners to get the word out. Things just ballooned from there. Since then, Peebles' used car dealer has had a hand in 447 SSR transactions, and some of those are the same truck coming back to sell again. With just over 24,000 of them out there, that works about to two percent of the model's production moving through just one business. The dealership also sponsors an SSR owners' forum online. Being a major broker for a niche model also means that Peebles often gets rare examples of the SSR, including some of the Indianapolis 500 pace car versions, according to Automotive News. We even saw a bizarre one last year when the business put this shark-inspired truck on eBay Motors. The whole thing also works out well for Peebles' Hyundai business. Specializing in SSRs brings other performance models in as trade-ins, and they can draw folks to the lot to check out the collection. Then, maybe visitors can take a look at a Sonata, too.
