Built
and finished in 2010 this 1955 Chevy 210 Handyman wagon features true to form
1960's styling and was driven on the 2010 Hot Rod power tour to celebrate
its finished restoration .
Surfs Up- Everything on this wagon has been mocked up and built just as it had
been seen cruisen down PCH back in the early 60’s.. Load up the family, strap down
the surfboards and head down to the beach because this wagon loves to be
driven. She was built to be a driver, and that’s exactly what she is. She looks
just as great in person as she does in the pictures... but don’t expect a trailer
queen show car, because this car was built for the road. She’s turnkey and
always draws a crowd. The 355Ci v8 has about 15k miles and sounds very healthy
with a performance cam breathing through, 202 fuelie heads, custom headers and
flow master exhaust. Power gets to pavement by a 10 bolt (era correct) posi rear
end and 355 gearing. The Th350 Auto Trans features a mild shift kit and has
been set up to give the illusion the trans is manual (Its just the sifter).
The stance has been raised to give this 55 the Gasser look but still features
the original A-arm front suspension. This gives the Wagon a comfortable ride
and the option to change the stance very easily if desired. The tire/wheel
combo looks amazing on this car featuring Micky Thompson rears and Coker white
walls in the front. The paint is in good condition and shows minimal ware &
tare from driven enjoyment over the last few years. The paint color is 1955
Chevy Teal over White Ivory. The Interior has been custom made to match the
original pattern with tuck and roll door panels and Plastic covers to add onto
to the rest of the theme. The car is sold the way it looks and will include pom
poms, the 1962 Surfer Magazine, but excluding the Gordon Smith 9’ Custom
performance Longboard (if you need to have it we can talk). I do have the right to end this auction at any
time. Please do not hesitate to call or email with any questions you might
have. Bid to win!! 480-290-1596 |

Expect greater differentiation in GM's next-generation SUVs
Thu, 03 Jan 2013General Motors says its next-generation Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon and Cadillac Escalade models will offer shoppers improved interior differentiation. Car and Driver recently caught up with Chris Hilts, GM's creative manager of interior design, who said that the cabins will all feature unique instrument panels, consoles, center stacks and switchgear moving forward. Apparently GM is now aware that consumers may be bothered by the fact that today's $85,000 Escalade has effectively the same cabin as a $45,000 Tahoe. Hilts says SUV buyers want more refinement than their pickup purchasing counterparts - and those same buyers also want their SUVs to have more exterior differentiation between the company's Silverado and Sierra pickup lines. Shocking.
That all sounds good to us, but we've heard this song and dance before. GM made big waves about how different the new-for-2013 Silverado and Sierra would look from each other, but judging by what we've seen so far, GM's stylists are painting in shades rather than with the full spectrum. Final C6 Corvette built in Bowling Green
Fri, 01 Mar 2013With all of the attention given to the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray lately, you could be forgiven for thinking that it's already well along in production, yet tooling up for the new C7 has only just begun. In fact, production of the outgoing C6 generation in Bowling Green, Kentucky just halted on Thursday.
As the C6 has aged, production numbers have predictably ebbed along with demand, but this year, the addition of the 427 and 60th anniversary models resulted in an uptick in vehicles built - this, despite a model year shortened by around 25 percent to accomodate the new model changeover. The final C6 Corvette ever, No. 13,466 built this year, was a white 427 Convertible destined for the General Motors Heritage Center museum. The car's 7.0-liter V8 heart was assembled by Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter himself.
In total, Bowling Green pushed out 215,100 C6 Corvettes over nine years. If you're still a C6 fan at heart and are hoping to get a good deal on a phase-out model, step lively - Chevrolet reportedly had about 6,100 unsold units, which Autoweek suggests is good for around five and a half months of supply at the model's current sales rates. Given that demand will likely slacken even further as the C7 draws closer, that should be a big enough stockpile to keep dealers satisfied until 2014 Stingrays begin showing up on their forecourts in December.
Question of the Day: What's the most irritating car name?
Wed, Mar 9 2016You hear a lot about how the Chevrolet Nova was a sales flop in Mexico because "No va" means "it doesn't go" in Spanish; in fact, the Nova sold pretty well south of the border, and in any case most Spanish-speakers know that "Nova" means "new" in Latin and Portuguese. However, General Motors doesn't deserve to be let off the hook for bad car names, because the Oldsmobile Achieva— no doubt inspired by the excruciating "coffee achievers" ads of the 1980s— scrapes the biggest fingernails down the screechiest chalkboard in the US-market car-name world. That is, unless you think Daihatsu's incomprehensible choice of Charade was worse. Meanwhile, Japanese car buyers could get machines with cool names like Mazda Bongo Friendee or Honda Life Dunk. It's just not fair! So, what car name drives you the craziest? Related Video: Auto News Design/Style Chevrolet Honda Mazda Daihatsu Automotive History questions car names
