Up for auction is a 1955 Chevy 210 2 Door Sedan project that is nearly complete. I bought this car as a rolling shell and had the body work and paint professionally done by a local custom body shop. This car is very, very solid. All of the hard work has been done and now the car just needs to be finished and enjoyed. The car runs and drives.
Here are the details:
Body
The body was stripped to bare metal and all body work done. The car was sealed with epoxy primer and then surfaced and blocked before being painted. The paint is a GM metallic blue lower and white upper. There are realistic flames ghosted into the hood and fenders.
All new body bushings were installed. All floors, body bracing etc are very solid and not rusted out like many of these cars.
Interior / Glass
The dash was stripped and painted GM metallic blue. The car comes with two bucket seats from a corvair and the rear seat springs that need to be upholstered. I have no other interior for the car.
The windshield is installed and I have the rear window and all new front / rear side glass for it that need to be installed.
Wiring
This car has a brand new 15 circuit wiring harness installed. Some wiring will need to be completed with the front headlights and park lights. The taillights are wired and the brake lights and signals work great.
Engine / Trans
The engine is a rebuilt 350 V8 with a holley 670 avenger carb, new HEI distributor and wires, new chrome headers, new water pump, new billet crank and water pump pulleys, new aluminum radiator. The trans is a TH350 automatic.
The car does not have have any exhaust run past the headers.
Suspension
Suspension is all stock, nothing has been modified.
Brakes
This car has 4-wheel drum brakes. All brake hardware has been replaced and new master cylinder and lines installed.

Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
Corvette Stolen In Detroit Returned To Owner After 33 Years
Wed, Jun 25 2014A Detroit man had his stolen Corvette returned 33 years after it disappeared while parked on one of Detroit's main drags, according to ABC 7. The last time George Talley saw his 1979 Corvette was on a July day in 1981, when it disappeared from its parking spot on Jefferson Avenue in Detroit. He had given up hope of ever seeing his car again, until a phone call from AAA brought his sporty ride home. Authorities had come across a Corvette with a questionable VIN in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. When they ran the number Talley's stolen car report came up. The car is still in pretty good shape and only has 47,000 miles on the odometer. Talley wasn't sure how he could get the car back home, but General Motors stepped in and agreed to cover the cost of bringing the 'Vette home. Talley has always had a passion for Detroit-made muscle cars. "I've always liked Corvettes. It was attractive. The ladies like 'em," Talley told ABC 7.
Chevy teases next-gen Volt at fan event in LA
Thu, Nov 20 2014Barely two months before its planned debut at the 2015 North American International Auto Show, Chevrolet has released yet another batch of teaser images of its second-generation Volt. Unlike the first image, though, which just showed the car's rear badge, there's a lot more to this quartet of shots. The first three images show off the nose of the next-gen model and come from a fan event in Los Angeles. What we can see is a sleeker front end, with an evolution of the silver grille inserts previously seen on the original Volt and Spark EV. Gone is the current car's split upper grille, in favor of a more conventional arrangement. The sharper, more angular headlights are also an evolution of the lamps seen on the current Volt. Chevrolet also took the opportunity to announce a new location-based charging system that uses GPS to adjust the vehicle's charge settings, including the charge level, while also announcing that the next-gen car will feature more intuitive charge indicators that will be better able to inform owners of their car's charging level. The tech will mean that the Volt 'knows' when it is parked at home, and can thus automatically optimize charging for off-peak times, and so on. Take a look at the teaser images at the top of the page, and then head below for Chevy's press release announcing the new features. Next-Gen Chevy Volt Offers More User-Friendly Charging 2014-11-20 GPS makes charging more convenient Portable charger is easier to access Intuitive visual cues show charge status DETROIT – If there's one thing Chevrolet Volt owners love about their cars, it's being able to recharge the battery easily. Evidence of that is a U.S. Department of Energy study that shows more than 80 percent of all trips by Volt owners did not use the range extender. Chevrolet has made the charging system in the next-generation Volt even easier for customers to recharge the battery – and to check the charge status. The next-generation Volt debuts in January at the North American International Auto Show. "Chevrolet used the real-world experiences of today's Volt owners to make the charging process simpler and more convenient in the next-generation Volt," said Andrew Farah, chief engineer for the Volt.
