The car has been garage kept, pampered, protected, and loved and it shows.
Paint & Body: The paint is several years old however it is in excellent condition and it is slick like glass and the paint looks to be a foot deep. It is the original color Glacier Blue which you don’t see every day. This 55 has one of the best body’s on any 55 that I have seen. There are no signs of rust now or in the past and it looks to be all of the original panels including the floors, trunk pan, and rockers. The body is straight and the doors, trunk, and hood line up very well. The glass is excellent and believe it or not looks to be the original LOF glass!
Interior: The interior was custom restored with some modern amenities but retaining the original style and look. The seats, door panels, headliner, and carpet were all restored in the original style and very nice. The steering column was upgraded to a polished chrome tilt wheel with a Banjo type steering wheel and the gauge cluster was upgraded to Classic Instruments with a chrome bezel also. The Muncie 4-speed transmission is shifted with a polished Hurst shifter with a Trick Flow floor shifter cover. It has a billet rear view mirror, a pair of 6x9 Jensen stereo speakers in the package tray to accompany the AM/FM stereo in the dash
Engine: The motor is a 1964 Chevy 327 V-8 rebuilt with performance in mind with all high performance parts and accessories. A partial list of the performance parts and accessories include Trick Flow aluminum heads, Edelbrock RPM Air Gap aluminum intake, Edelbrock 600cfm carburetor with electric choke, great sounding performance cam, MSD ignition and MSD 6Al box and MSD performance plug wires, and a high performance aluminum water pump. The aluminum radiator is from Griffin with a Tripac electric cooling fan. It also has ceramic coated headers, chrome alternator, polished AC compressor, and body color firewall. It has power steering and a 605 box and power disc brakes as well.

Is Buick's surprise Detroit concept a Camaro-sized coupe?

Sun, Jan 10 2016

Tomorrow night marks the unofficial start of the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. Keep your eyes peeled for a number of reveals, including a surprise debut from Buick. Yes, Buick. And we think it's going to be something really hot. According to a report from Bloomberg, the Tri-Shield's secret car could be a Camaro-sized sport coupe concept. As Bloomberg explains, it'd certainly gel with the impression the company is trying to put out – that it's no longer a brand for those with one foot in the grave. Introducing a sports coupe, even as a concept, could certainly reinforce that message. And if it happens to make production – which is not a certainty, Bloomberg's secret source says – it could certainly help Buick drive its average buyer age down from 59. Bloomberg doesn't offer any speculation on Buick's new coupe, but we have no problem making educated guesses. Our most reliable conjecture is this: it will ride on General Motors' Alpha platform, which underpins both the Camaro and the Cadillac ATS. And with a certain twin-turbocharged V6 in the GM stable, we've got an idea of what kind of engine could be shown. That speculation will have to suffice for now. But don't worry, we'll have official details, live images, and video tomorrow when Buick unveils its new concept in Detroit's Eastern Market.

Junkyard Gem: 2003 Chevrolet Tracker

Wed, May 22 2024

When General Motors created the Geo brand to sell vehicles designed and — in some cases — built by Japanese partners, the first four models were introduced for the 1989 model year: the Metro (Suzuki Cultus), Prizm (Toyota Sprinter), Spectrum (Isuzu Gemini) and Tracker (Suzuki Sidekick). Geo got the axe in 1997, with the Metro, Prizm and Tracker becoming Chevrolets. Of those, the Tracker survived the longest, with U.S.-market sales continuing into 2004. Here's an example of a very late Tracker, found in a North Carolina car graveyard recently. The 1989-1997 first-generation Trackers were based on the Suzuki Sidekick, while the 1998-2004 Trackers had the Suzuki Vitaras (not to be confused with the much grander Grand Vitaras) as their siblings. Production of these trucks for the South American market (as the Chevrolet Vitara) continued in Ecuador all the way through 2014. The Tracker name has also gone onto some versions of the Chevrolet Trax around the world. This one is a base four-door hard top/rear-wheel-drive model, which had an MSRP of $17,330. That's about $29,789 in 2024 dollars. You'll find one in every car. You'll see. The engine is a Suzuki 2.0-liter straight-four rated at 127 horsepower and 134 pound-feet. A five-speed manual was base equipment, but very few American vehicle shoppers wanted three pedals by the middle 2000s. This truck has the Aisin four-speed automatic. We like it loud. It appears that someone associated with this truck graduated from Julius L. Chambers High School last year. In the United States, the Tracker was replaced by the Saturn Vue. If Tracker can handle (unspecified Middle Eastern country), it can survive the jungle back home. Siempre contigo.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
