OK, this one is going to take a lot to list, but here it goes. I will probably forget to mention quite a few things so please call with questions. This is a fresh frame off restoration. Less than 200 miles on it. It was totally disassembled and rebuilt from ground up. Supposedly, over 50K was invested per the past owner. I am hoping to get less than half of that number. Body: Very straight and a very nice base coat clear coat paint job. Red as red can be. Chrome and stainless either new or very nice. The front bumper has a couple of places where the chrome popped because the bumper bolts were over tightened. Glass all good except for wiper mark on front windshield. If there was any body panel replacements, it cannot be spotted or picked up by a magnet. It comes with a complete set of 210 stainless trim for around the windows and belt line. Interior: Custom "pleather" with real ostrich leather accents. Gauges are VDO and all work except for speedo. It is not hooked up. It has Vintage A/C and heat that works. All new Painless wiring system. Lecarra steering wheel. Custom chrome tilt column. Wipers and horn work. B&M shifter. Tires and wheels: New Boyd Coddington 18" custom wheels with new Falcon 255/45ZR18 tires. Cost over $3500.00. Suspension: Air Ride technologies. Very expensive set-up with individual control of all 4 corners. Rear is a 3:08 gear 9" Ford with a custom 4 link set-up. Front is a custom Heidts manual rack and pinion set-up. Braked are power discs up front and drum rears. You can drop the car all the way down to the frame and raise it higher than you would ever want. In the pictures it is about half way down. Drive line: Bored out 1969 - 402 cu in big block Chevy. Big cam. 1967 - 101 cc closed chamber heads. Roller rockers. Supposedly about 500 horse power. Edlebrock accessories. Accel ignition. Holley 750 carb. Headers. 3" Flow master exhaust with "H" pipe. High torq starter. 400 turbo transmission. All new or rebuilt. The only mistake, in my mind, that the guy made was installing too big of a cam and not installing a stall torque converter in the tranny. It will idle in gear, but it lops a lot. Combine that with the 3" Flowmaster exhaust, and you will definitely get noticed when you pull in at a cruise night. A bit too loud and lopy for me, but then I am getting older too. Again, this is a fresh restoration but it does need a few final items to be complete. Missing rear slash pan between bumper and body. No radio or aerial. The starter makes a funny noise. It works every time, but I am not sure that it sounds like it should. A new chrome high torque starter is included in the trunk. Needs hood springs installed. New hood springs are in the trunk. It is missing the bottom half on the trunk weather stripping. Door locks do not function properly, but the trunk lock works fine. I know I am missing something here. I will add more info as I think of it. NO TRADES NO TRADES NO TRADES For those of you over seas; I have sold quite a few cars to guys in Austria, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Germany, etc. so I know how that works. Now for the business end. I encourage you, or someone you trust or hire, to come by and check out the vehicle in person. I will refund your deposit if the vehicle does not match the above description. The vehicle does not leave here until all funds clear my bank. Bank and cashiers checks can take up to 10 business days. My bank will give me a letter stating the date when the check will clear. I will forward a copy of the letter to you. Bank transfers can take up to 2 days depending on what time of the day it is initiated on your end. Again, my bank will let me know when it clears. Cash is great if picking it up in person. Call me at 314-732-592five to get honest answers to all of your questions BEFORE YOU BID. Thanks, Dave One more time, NO TRADES, Please do not ask. If you do not know, understand, and accept what "no trades" means, then you surely do not have a car that I would not be interested in. I do not respond to low ball offers, text messages, or take offers over the phone. If you want to make an offer, please do so through ebay email. Include your name and contact info. If I feel you are a serious buyer, I will call you back. If you do not hear back from me, then my vehicle must be out of your price range. Once my vehicle hits it's reserve price, I will not end the auction. I do not give out my reserve price. Too many knuckleheads out there that like to play games with bidding just under the reserve amount with no intention of actually buying a vehicle. Makes it look like schill bidding is going on. If you have a feed back rating less that 100% or zero feedback, you might want to check with me before bidding. I will sometimes block or cancel bids if I get a bad feeling for the bidder. For you new members, please don't bid unless you know and accept how ebay works and understand that you are legally committing to purchase if you bid. Not following through with a purchase after winning an auction for a new member can result in ebay canceling your membership. Thanks to all, good luck with your bidding, and have a great day, Dave |

Looking back on our favorite cars of Mad Men
Tue, Apr 7 2015The second half of the seventh and final season of Mad Men debuted this week, set to cap a run of public and critical acclaim. A decade's worth of interesting cars also made for good television, if you were paying attention. Vehicles didn't often steal the spotlight from Don, Betty, Roger, Joan and the gang, but they added meaningfully to the tone and beauty of the series. We sorted through the wheeled extras from Mad Men's archives, and choose some of our favorites to highlight. The list consists of cars that had at least a small impact on the plot of an episode, though certainly there are worthy gems hiding in just about every street and driving scene. Check out our subjective top five, and then let us know which of the Mad Men cars would be on your list. 1962 Cadillac Coupe DeVille – Season 2 Don Draper's Cadillac Coupe DeVille, all 500 feet of it, shows up in a few seasons of the show, but it's the first appearance that sets the tone. A Cadillac salesman, cut from the same cloth as Draper, asks what Don drives right now. "A Dodge," Don admits. "Those are wonderful if you want to get somewhere," allows the salesman, "this is for when you've already arrived." For a man on the move up corporate and social ladders that's a powerful message, and a pitch-perfect car. 1961 Lincoln Continental – Season 3 The most stylish Lincoln Continental ever is perfect set dressing for the mod show, of course. Though it's interesting that the car isn't cast as dapper Draper's ride, but rather his father-in-law's. Grandpa Gene does what all great grandfathers are bound to: lets his granddaughter Sally drive the big Lincoln while he works the pedals. Generational bond secured, in fine fashion. When you go back through the first three seasons of the show, you'll notice that Continentals show up more than once, too. There's nothing quite like them to evoke the best of the early '60s. 1963 John Deere 110 – Season 3 The only non-standard passenger vehicle on the list, no self-respecting gearhead/Mad Men fan should quibble with the inclusion of the John Deere 110 riding mower. For starters, the Deere is lovely to look at; a miniature version of the American Heartland icon in its green and yellow duds. The 110 appears as if milled from a solid block of steel, just the opposite of today's sleek, plasticky lawn minders (we're scouring Craigslist for one to bring home). The John Deere also has dear ramifications to the plot, too.
Chevrolet planning low-cost Corvette under Stingray?
Wed, 27 Feb 2013If you're burnt out on musings about the Chevrolet Corvette, you'll want to go ahead and skip this post. Motor Trend reports General Motors is hard at work on a low-cost version of the seventh-generation sports car for 2015. Rumored to be called the Corvette Coupe, the car will forgo the Stingray and skip the 450-horsepower 6.2-liter V8 engine in favor of a 5.3-liter V8 with under 400 ponies. If you're keeping track, that's a shade of the same engine found behind the headlights of the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
The report also suggests the Coupe will receive a number of aesthetic tweaks to separate it from the Stingray, including different front and rear fascias as well as new front fenders and a rear diffuser. Motor Trend says the point of all this is to cut the car's price tag, which means we may see a Corvette on showroom floors for less than $50,000 if this car comes to fruition.
Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota FCV Rally Car To Compete, Barra bullish on Chevy Volt
Fri, Oct 31 2014The Toyota FCV will compete in the last stage of the 2014 Japanese Rally Championship. The sport-tuned hydrogen-powered car will tackle the 177-mile Shinshiro Rally on November 1 and 2, emitting no greenhouse gases in the process. The rally course will help prove the safety of the vehicle before it goes on sale in Japan in the next several months. The Toyota FCV, rumored to be called "Mirai" in Japan, will begin sales there before April, according to Toyota, and in the summer in the US and Europe. Read more in the press release below. Carsharing is becoming more popular, and more visible, throughout the world, including the US. According to WardsAuto columnist John McElroy, 18 percent of US drivers have used some sort of carsharing service. Additionally, he says 60 percent of Americans are familiar with Zipcar and Uber. Mercedes' Harald Kroeger says promotions like free parking for carshares in Stuttgart are encouraging growth for Daimler's carsharing service, Car2go. Read more at WardsAuto. Ethanol is being help up by rail transport, according to ethanol producer Green Plains. More and more stations are carrying E15 blend gasoline, but grain producers have complained that crude oil is given higher priority by the rail lines shipping it, which rail companies deny. Union Pacific and BNSF Railway say they are stepping up service to make sure that ethanol can be shipped reliably to customers. Read more at Omaha World-Herald. General Motors "has placed a significant bet [on] the electrification of the automobile," says CEO Mary Barra. In a speech to the Detroit Economic Club this week, she spoke about the Chevrolet Volt, and its importance to GM's future. While Barra admits the Volt's success has been "not everything we wanted," it has provided experience, and shows that EVs have "an important role in the future of GM." The new Volt is more refined, stores more energy, has longer range, uses less fuel and is a big investment for Michigan. She announced that the new Volt's electric drive system will be built in Warren, and that all of its major components will be made in Michigan. "Silicon Valley doesn't have a corner on the market for innovation, creativity and drive," says Barra. "These qualities exist here – in this region – as well." See the speech's highlight video and read more in the transcript below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
