I am offering for auction my 2002 Chevy Avalanche Z66.

I have owned this outstanding Avalanche for 8 years.  It has been Adult Owned and Operated since New.  This Avalanche has been meticulously maintained with every recommended scheduled service maintenance.

Prior to my purchase of this vehicle, I contacted the previous owner to verify its service records.  They also informed me that the truck had always been garage kept and serviced with Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic Oil and Filter that was changed every 4,000 miles: which, I have continued to maintain during my ownership as well.

This truck has spent its entire life in North Carolina.  Which means its body and undercarriage is absolutely “Rust-Free”!!!  It has never been driven in the snow or ice and seldom even in the rain - if that tells you how particular I am about my vehicles.  This is a 3rd vehicle of ours which gave me the option not to drive during bad weather.

It has never been smoked in and the Interior and Exterior are in impeccable condition.  The paint has a high sheen gloss to it.  Overall this truck would be rated on a scale of 1-10 (which 10 being new) a 9.5!!!

Engine and Transmission Specs

As stated above, Engine Oil and Filter changed every 4,000 miles with Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic Oil.

The engine runs strong and very well and does not use any oil between changes.  There are no leaks. Power steering is tight.  Brakes are ceramic padding and in good shape.  Being the vehicle has the Z66 On-Road Performance Package it has the Bilstein Shock Absorbers and Suspension Package which enables the vehicle to handle very well on the road.

This truck will track straight and true down the road with a smooth ride.

Transmission fluid and filter as well as rear differential fluid was recently changed using synthetic fluids.

In my 8 years of ownership I have absolutely had No Problems out of the transmission.  It operates and shifts correctly.

All Rubber Seals and Gaskets are in excellent condition.  All Cladding is intact and in excellent condition with a High Gloss.  Seals, Gaskets and Cladding were treated with a deep conditioner on a regular basis to maintain this condition.

Electrical components

All electrical components run and operate correctly.  All Gauges function properly.  All Power Windows, Door Locks, Power Seats, and Stereo work accordingly.  Air compressor functions properly and A/C is Good and Cold.  It also has excellent heating in the winter.

I have upgraded a number of features since purchasing the vehicle as you can see in the pictures.

Here is a list of  New and Recently installed items:

  • 2012 Chevy Avalanche LTZ Rims and Tires

  • Ready-Lift Suspension Lift Kit, which raised vehicle approx. 2 1/2 inches for a better stance that does not compromise handling or smooth ride.

  • New Thermostat

  • New Upper and Lower Radiator hoses

  • Front push bar

I am including my Diablo Sport Predator Handheld Programmer with the sale of the Avalanche.    This enables the owner to customize the truck with different performance settings to their personal preferences.

This truck was Professionally Programmed and Tuned by a Diablo Sport Predator technician.  It is currently set up to run at its Optimal Performance Level to get an Astonishing 17.5 miles per gallon in the City and an Outstanding 22.8 miles per gallon on the Highway.

GM executive chief EV engineer says reducing cost of plug-in vehicles is 'huge priority'

Mon, Mar 17 2014

As we know, another major automaker investing heavily in electrified vehicles is General Motors, and it's doing things much differently than rivals BMW, Ford or Nissan. The Chevrolet Volt extended-range EV is a modest seller at its $35,000 sticker price but a huge hit with owners. The Chevy Spark BEV, still in limited availability, puts smiley faces on its owners and drivers. The just-introduced Cadillac ELR, a sharp-looking, fun-driving $76,000 luxocoupe take on the Volt's EREV mechanicals, has admittedly low sales expectations. With this interesting trio in showrooms and much more in the works, the third vehicle electrification leader I collared for an interview at Detroit's North American International Auto Show (see #1 and #2) was Pam Fletcher, GM's executive chief engineer, Electrified Vehicles. ABG: Why do your EREVs need four-cylinder power to extend their range when BMW's i3 makes do with an optional 650 cc two-banger? "We designed [the Volt and the ELR] to go anywhere, any time" - Pam Fletcher PF: I get that question all the time: why not something smaller? You don't really need that much. You use the electric to its ability, then you just need to limp. But we designed those cars to go anywhere, any time, and we don't want their performance to be compromised. If you're driving through the mountains, we don't want you to be crawling up grades, or to be limited on any terrain. So it's optimized to be able to travel literally the biggest grades and mountain roads around the globe at posted speeds. Because what if you can't? Another good reason: when the engine is on, you have to run it wide open throttle, max speed, most of the time. And while we can do a lot with acoustics, and the ELR has active noise cancelation, a small-displacement, low cylinder-count engine at high speed, high load all the time isn't something you want to live with. That's how we came up with the balance we did among the key factors of performance, NVH [noise, vibration and harshness] and range. ABG: Where you go from here? Is the range-extender engine due for an update? PF: We know and love the current Volt, and there is still a lot of acclaim about it, so we think it's a good recipe. But we are heavily in the midst of engineering the next-generation car, which I think everyone will love and be excited about.

Burt Reynolds' vehicles up for auction at Barrett-Jackson

Tue, Sep 25 2018

Burt Reynolds' influence on car culture cannot be overstated. Be it "Smokey and the Bandit" or "Cannonball Run," his films inspired a generation of car enthusiasts. He died a few weeks back from cardiac arrest at age 82. This weekend, four vehicles from Reynolds' personal collection — three Pontiacs and a Chevy — will go up for auction at Barrett-Jackson in Las Vegas. It seems Reynolds had plans to sell the cars before he passed. He even filmed a short teaser for the auction and planned to attend the event himself. Three of the cars are Pontiac Trans Ams. Two are re-creations of the cars he drove in "Bandit" and the film "Hooper." Both are 1978 models. The third Trans Am is from 1984 and was used to promote Reynolds' USFL team, the Tampa Bay Bandits. The fourth vehicle is a 1978 Chevy R30 pickup truck. It's styled like the truck he drove in "Cannonball Run." None of the vehicles were actually used in the movies. But they were registered in his name, making them far more legitimate than some other movie-inspired clones. It's unclear how many Bandit Trans Ams Reynolds has owned over the years. Another car connected to him sold for $450,000 back in 2014. His death is sure to drive the price of these new cars even higher. This is how GM is hiding new Chevy Volt in public

Wed, Oct 1 2014

General Motors is letting the public know that, well, it's not about to let the public know anything else about the next-generation Chevrolet Volt. But the automaker is willing to talk about its camouflaging process for upcoming versions of the extended-range plug-in. So it's a half-hearted secret, at best. GM actually has a "camouflage engineer" charged with creating ways to disguise the styling of new vehicles. In the Volt's case, the company is applying black and white swirly color patterns on top of the materials, such as plastics, vinyl and foam, that are used liberally across the body. It's all part of a teaser campaign that started last month with pictures of part the 2016 Volt. Earlier this month, GM said it was keeping track of Volt drivers' habits as it works on the next-gen model. The company noted that more than four out of five trips are being made in all-electric driving mode, and that 60 percent of Volt owners use a plain-old 100-volt outlet to recharge their cars. The car is slated to make its global debut at Detroit's North American International Auto Show next January, and the early word is that performance and all-electric range will be improved (we should hope so). The car will also be sleeker. By how much, we can't tell yet, because of those darn swirly patterns. GM's got more non-details in its press release below. Engineers charged with hiding styling while vehicle testing proceeds in public DETROIT – The styling of the next-generation Chevrolet Volt is one of the automotive world's best-kept secrets. Keeping customers and media eager to see the successor to the groundbreaking original at bay until the new Volt debuts at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January is tricky business. First, it is engineers, not designers, who are charged with creating camouflage that balances styling secrecy with the need to validate the Volt and its systems in public. "If it were up to me it would be a shoebox driving down the road," said Lionel Perkins, GM camouflage engineer. "The design team wants us to cover more of the vehicle and the engineering team needs to have enough of the vehicle's weight and aero exposed so that the tests in the development process are consistent with the product that will come to market." The engineers responsible for the "cool" designs covering the car might deserve style points but their efforts are intended strictly to hide the metal beneath.
