MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer this very handsome 1956 Chrysler Imperial Southampton 4-Door Sedan. This car is registered with the Imperial Club International and was driven regularly until being loaned to a museum in 2009.

Imperial was the Chrysler Corporation’s luxury automobile brand between 1955 and 1975 with a brief reappearance from 1981 to 1983. The Imperial name had been used since 1926 but was never a separate make – just the top-of-the-line Chrysler. They are considered by many to be of superior engineering and contained many cutting edge innovations for the era such as a HiWay HiFi record player and high-compression Hemi power.

This Imperial is of the Southampton 4-Door variety, was meticulously maintained by two previous owners and has spent its entire life in the Southern region of the United States and has been with the same Mississippi owner since 1993!. It has benefitted from a recent repaint of its deep Raven Black exterior. The chic taillights and small tailfins define luxury and sophistication. The new whitewall tires compliment the black exterior with its period correct Imperial hubcaps.

The interior is a sleek gray embossed with leather and vinyl. The seats appear to have been reupholstered at some point in time, but do show some slight wear at the base of the seats, probably due to being driven regularly. The Imperial logos sewn into the seats showcase the elegances of the few years that Imperial was a separate marque from Chrysler. The dashboard appears to be original and the gauges, along with the steering wheel are correct.

This powerful luxury car boasts a 354ci V8 Chrysler Firepower Hemi. Mated to the engine is a TorqueFlite 3-speed automatic transmission. The rarely seen factory rear air conditioning system was evacuated, vacuum tested and serviced with new R134. The cooling system has also been updated and replaced, as well as the engine tuned up.

No vehicle is perfect to everyone. Each vehicle has its strengths, styles, tendencies and shortcomings. Therefore, despite our best efforts to verify a vehicle\’s mechanical condition, we are not able to warranty a manufacturer’s workmanship or previous owner’s diligence in care. All disputes arising out of or resulting from this sale shall be finally determined by binding arbitration in St. Louis, Missouri in accordance with the commercial rules of arbitration of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be carried out by one or more arbitrators in accordance with said rules. Any award shall be enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction in the same manner as judgments. This agreement to arbitrate shall survive the sale of the automobile described herein. Buyer and Seller hereby agree that Missouri law shall control for all purposes under this Bill of Sale. Buyer and Seller hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts of Missouri to specifically enforce the agreement to arbitrate and to enter judgment of and enforce the award of the arbitrator. All above terms and conditions are applied to vehicle sales, whether through Ebay or otherwise. Sorry, but in all fairness to the bidding process, I will NOT disclose my reserve price until the auction has ended.

Payment Terms

Payment must be made by Cashiers Check, Money Orders or Wire Transfers payable in US Dollars. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be received within Twenty-Four(24)hours of the auctions close either by Master Card, Visa or PayPal. The buyer has seven(7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle is not to your liking within this seven day inspection period then your deposit will be refunded 100%. If an inspection or decision takes longer then seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking, your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. The refundable deposit only applies if you or an agent inspect said vehicle in St. Louis and find it not to your liking. I will not be responsible for buyers remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left my property. I am just being realistic, most of the cars I deal in are vintage and by their very nature will need TLC and some degree of attention sooner or later. These are not new cars and should not be treated as such. Once full payment has been received, Seller will email or fax a copy of clear title, Bill of sale, Buyers guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via email or fax. The forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. Original paperwork will be sent to Buyer Via priority mail within seven(7) days from date of final payment unless payment is made by check. If payment is made by check, original papework will be sent ten (10) business days after receipt. Transportation will commence only after final payment and signed documentation are received. Once a car is picked up from our premises, you will NOT be able to return the car.

Overseas shipments will be placed into a steel container for safe sea passage. We take care of all the details and paperwork. All you have to do is collect the car at port and enjoy!
