Up for auction is one of the nicest 1950 Chevrolet 5-Window pickups that you will ever see. This truck was professionally built with attention paid to every little detail including all stainless nuts & bolts. It is a full frame-off, super high quality, performance based build. The miles since the build are 5,519 and you can drive this Street Rod anywhere you want to go and everywhere right now. The truck rides, drives, and handles as good as it looks and it is a true pleasure to drive. The new owners of this truck are going to be very excited, pleased, and they are going to get one heck of a deal. I have posted 145 high quality pictures on this add so please be patient as they will probably take a few minutes to download on your computer. The pictures do not do the truck justice as it looks even better in person. I will try to describe the truck as best I can but once again I can’t do it justice. The best thing to do if you are serious is to come and spend some time with this unbelievable truck for yourself!

Paint & Body

The body was taken off the frame and the cab was stripped down to the metal inside and out. There was no rust and there is no filler. The cab, doors, and hood were than professionally primed, blocked, primed some more, blocked some more, and finally the Hugger Orange base coat was applied with at least 5 coats and then 4 or 5 coats of clear. After that the body was buffed and polished to a mirror finish that looks like glass and the paint looks to be a foot deep. The bed was purchased new from Dan Carpenter’s Specialties including the complete metal box (without stake pockets) and the Oak wood bed and stainless strips and bolts. It has an original NOS tailgate with the Chevy script and stainless tailgate hinges. The hood emblems, side emblems, wiper arms, door handles, and trim were purchased new from Jim Carter’s Antique Truck Parts. The tinted glass is all new from LMC truck parts. Also from LMC is all new weather stripping, cowl vent seal, fender anti-squeak kit, 3-window rubber kit, headlight gaskets and bezels, fender to body bead, front and rear chrome bumpers and bolt kits, and fuel filler hose kit and fuel neck. Also from LMC are the aluminum step plates, windshield center molding, wiper tower gasket set and bezels, park light w/turn signals, tail light assembly’s (both sides), chrome license plate bracket, chrome grill assembly and hardware, and vent windows. As you can see… all new. The wheels are chrome Rallye’s from Wheel Vintiques. 15x7’s and 15x8’s with Goodyear Eagle GTII’s… P225/70R15 ff and P295/50R15 rr.

Interior

There was no expense spared on the inside either. It looks awesome and the most comfortable as you will every sit down in. It is true leather. The seat is from RodDoors with a 3” riser kit and wrapped in fine mocha two-tone leather. ($3000 just in the seat and the most comfortable truck seat that I have ever had the pleasure of sitting in!)… It also has matching Lapp belts and retractors from Danny’s Rod Shop. The speaker grill, ashtray cover, glove compartment door, and all of the window frames were sent off to Annapolis Plating & Polishing and look awesome. (Look close at the pictures). It has a Flaming River chrome tilt steering column with a matching Lecarra leather steering wheel. It has gauges from Dakota Digital (3 series) and also Dakota Digital wiring harness and kit. The stereo is a Bowtie cassette with an under the seat mounted Custom autosound 6-disc CD changer, XM satellite stereo, and dual 6x9 boxes also under the seat. The door panels, kick panels, headliner, and behind the seat are from RodDoors and all finished with insulation underneath. The inside is quiet and cool with cold Vintage air conditioning. Inside the door panels are new with new window regulators, and door relays, new window channel felt, and insulated. It has a new 12v wiper motor from Jim Carter Antique Truck Parts. It has Bear Claw door latches and a Viper alarm. The doors shut tight and perfect. It even smells good inside!

Engine … Drivetrain

The power plant is a 427 small block, from Bill Mitchell Hardcore Racing Products. It is a Motown 427 crate motor delivering 500hp on pump gas. It is a Motown cast iron block with 4-bolt mains, Motown 220 iron heads, Scat 4340 forged steel crankshaft, forged aluminum pistons, Manley 4340 forged steel H-beam connecting rods, Crane camshaft, Speed Pro high performance lifters, modified 870cfm Holley carburetor, Manley severe duty stainless valves, Manley true roller timing chain, Speed Pro oil pump and Milodon oil pan, Speed Pro ring set, Clevite bearings, aluminum roller rocker arms, 4130 pushrods, internally balanced, and Hardcore CNC Balancer. It is dressed out under the hood and show quality with a smoothed steel firewall, Heartbeat Oval polished air cleaner, Sanderson 1 3/4 ” block hugger ceramic headers, Hot Rod aluminum radiator, 16” electric fan, Billet recirculation catch can, Jegs high torque starter, polished Vintage AC compressor and a polished 1-wire alternator. This motor produces 500hp with complete reliability. There is no comparison with this motor and an ordinary crate motor. This engine was assembled with the same preparation, precision, and quality control as their racing engines. Every engine is dyno tested to assure that performance levels are met or exceeded.

The transmission is a 400 Turbo Street/Strip from ATI Performance and Racing Products. The transmission is also set up with a Gear Vendors under/overdrive and a 10” Super Streetmaster convertor. The rear end is a Moser 12-Bolt positive traction with a 3.73 gear.

Undercarriage

The underside is clean, neat, and performance built also. This truck is equipped with a Fat Man Fabrications power rack & pinion steering, 4-wheel Wilwood power disc brakes with 2” drop spindles in the front and welded 3” drop springs rear. It has tubular upper & lower control arms, coil over shocks front, new 5-Leaf springs in the rear, all braided lines, e-brake, battery kill switch, and 2 1/2 ” stainless exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. Stainless throttle cable assembly, E-Z jumper Terminal Kit, Moroso motor mounts, new u-joints, Trick Flow aluminum differential cover, Derayle cooling aluminum oil pan, and under the bed mounted spare…
