This is an award winning truck as the "Cool April Nights" awards attest, two years running!!!  Photos of awards are included in the pictures.  Cool April Nights is a major West Coast car show in Northern California that has over 1,500 cars in it from all over.

Freshly built -- no expense was spared -- and this truck has had several modifications done to it to enhance the natural beauty of the original Ford design team.  It has 3" wider rear fenders, custom full length and deeper running boards molded to the rear and front fenders.  All body seams welded all emblems shaved. Windshield wiper drive stems accented with billet aluminum covers, powder coated door pulls and engine components, premium foil backed Dynamat sound deadner applied every where in the cab area (you can talk on the cell phone while driving 70mph down the freeway and hear the phone very well).

Upholstery done by Frankie Martinez @ legendary Cool Customs Yuba City Ca. Interior headliner is Mercedes black, the lower dash is vinyl covered for the high tech look.  Vintage air-conditioner and heater, have had trouble with leaks in the air conditioner -- have not resolved the issue, but the heat and defrost run fine -- the leaks are where the lines thread on to the billet aluminum firewall pass thru and to and from the condenser.  100 lbs of Dynamat was used on every surface accessible, both on the inside and the outer shell of the doors.  Second Skin spray on mineral dampening compound sprayed under the entire cab and dash to reduce the tin can sound of an old truck.  The truck is exceptionally quiet going down the road, except for the exhaust system.  The muffler system was also taken from the Saleen Mustang and has an X pipe and the Saleen tuned stainless mufflers.

THE SOUND OF THE TRUCK IS ENTIRELY AWESOME.

A modern computer controlled Ford powerplant with fuel injection, overhead cam and computer optimized fuel and spark control systems was installed.  This is the same motor that comes stock in the GT Series Mustang 2001 model year.  It is a 4.6 liter Modular Motor -- same one that California Highway Patrol vehicles uses to chase the bad guys.
A Trickflow all metal intake manifold was installed and a Fran Low Restriction serviceable air filter.

The most impressive feature of the Truck is the eye catching Pie Cut on the hood.

Pie cutting is a very rare feature that is done only on extreme modified hot rods due to the 100+ hours involved in body work modification (just for the hood alone!!).  Very little Bondo was incorporated to achieve the modification as evidenced by the underside of the hood.  This feature along sets apart this vehicle from every other 1956 Ford Pickup.

With Hot Rods, it all about the look and this truck has it in "spades".

It's a real head turner, lots of WOW factor.  You can't drive anywhere without people turning their heads.  Driving down Interstate 5 in California, numerous people have driven along side of me to take photos with their phones.

With a whole 2.75 inches taken out of the hood the downward angle of the entire front end is true to Hot Rod form and greatly enhances the downward slope of the Hot Rod.   The stock rib was also removed going down the center of the hood yielding a smooth clean look to the hood.  Under the hood, firewall, the inner fender wells, the inside of the fenders and under the cab were all coated with Armacoating to reduce road noise from permeating from the cab and reduce rock chip damage.  The front and rear bumpers were removed and an inner bumper was fabricated behind the rear sheet metal to protect against impact to the gas tank -- 21 gallon fuel cell with intank fuel pump.

The incredible paint job was done by artist painter, Hector Ramirez, Chico, CA.  Entire truck is paint, no pin striping.  The three color paint goes behind the cab, around the bed and even into the engine department.  No cost was spared on body work and paint.  Three clear coats, buffed and cut.  All glass is new, tinted on the sides and back.  This is a custom cab but has all the trim shaven.  The bed is by Pro's Pick made in Canada and has been tubbed for even wider tires if you so desire.  The entire bed has been Armacoated.  LED brake lights by Lokar, front headlights are German made Bosch.

*Flaming river tilt wheel steering column coupled to a rack and pinion non power steering system -- please note this does not have power steering -- not an issue.

* All suspension parts and the front wheel hydraulic disc brakes with vacuum assisted power brake booster supplied by TCI (Total Cost Involved) Stock Ford Mustang Saleen locker rear end with disk brakes.

* TCI independent Mustang II type front suspension system, all stainless steel.  Slotted and drilled rotors by Willwood -- front only, stock Mustang disc brakes in the rear.

* 4-link suspension kit also made by TCI, half stainless steel, half satin black.  Truck does not have an emergency brake.  There was not enough floor space due to the bench seat.

*  Truck is super smooth going down the road, drives like a car.  No roll at all when you are cornering. There is no power steering but there is room if you want to add it.

*  There is no sound system in the truck - this truck was made to be simple and elegant.

*  The key locks are as they came, they are not functional, just cosmetic.

*  There is one missing amp wheel ID badge missing on the front left tire as you can see in the video if you look closely.

*  With over 28,000 miles on it we have discovered and fixed the little issues that sometimes come with any ground up build.

*  The truck has clear title and is currently registered in California -- it is registered as a 1955 but it is a 1956 -- DMV error.

THIS TRUCK IS A REAL EYE CATCHER!!

One of the first trucks with this paint scheme and was a hit at the shows we attended.   If you were to to build this truck it would cost over $125k.   This hot rod isn't perfect nor is any other Hot Rod, but it is stunning as the photos show.   There is one small impression on the paint below the passenger door handle.  There are some paint issues on driver's side rear stake pocket at the bottom.

If you are like most everyone else, you will be OVERWHELMED by the build of the truck.  For specific questions regarding this vehicle, call Leo at 530-321-9057

If this vehicle does not sell beforehand, it will be at the 2014 Hot August Nights show in Reno, NV
