The Good Stuff:

This jeep was locally owned, adult driven not some kid with his hat on crooked and pants hanging below his butt. Equipped with a very strong 4.0 Liter High Output 190HP engine, 4WD, a rare 5 speed transmission, power windows/locks, ice cold AC, power steering, 2" lift kit, like new 30X9.50X15 Yokohama Geolander AT tires, clean original tan cloth interior, non smoker, factory roof rack, good glass all around, rear receiver hitch and more. The body/chassis on this Cherokee is completely rust free and very straight. This Jeep has been my daily driver for the last year, its a good Jeep. It starts, runs, drives, shifts and stops excellent in every way, very tight, has been extremely reliable, I would not hesitate to jump in and drive this Jeep anywhere.

The List Of Repairs:

All of the following work was preformed by a professional ASE certified Master Tech, not some shade tree guy with a wrench.

replaced the windshield and molding

installed a new air cleaner and all new wiper blades

resealed the valve cover

replaced the rear main seal and oil pan gasket

replaced the oil filter O-rings

installed new heater hoses and thermostat

flushed and filled with new engine coolant

cleaned throttle body

changed the oil and filter to Valvoline synthetic 5W30 oil

installed a 2 inch lift kit for more clearance and lets be honest, they look better this way

installed an excellent set of 4 30X9.50X15 Yokohama Geolander AT radial tires

had the front end aligned and inspected brakes, brakes were well over 50% all around

installed a new front steering stabilizer

had all factory trim removed below belt line, had lower half of Jeep and bumpers painted with gold rock guard all the way around

had interior professionally steamed cleaned and detailed

had old bubbled window tint removed

The Not So Good Stuff:

This Jeep is 22+ years old so there are some negative things to be expected, most in this case are only cosmetic. I am being very "nit-picky" on some of this stuff no matter how small because I value my reputation/feedback and no one likes "surprises" buying a car on-line.

there are a couple of light stains in the drivers seat (see photos) I think they will come out with a little spot remover and a brush, will attempt it if time allows before auction end.

there is a small break in the plastic center console to the right of the shifter (see photos)

the ash tray doesn't sit quite flush, falls open a little on bumps

there are 2 small tears in the headliner (see photos)

there are some stains here and there in the carpet and in the rear, all are minor and expected for a Jeep of this age.

the paint is worn off the underside of the steering column from swinging keys (see photos) a common issue.

there are a couple scratches here and there, dings etc as you would expect.

the larger than stock tires rub the frame under full turn, you could turn out the steering stops or just ignore it.

the newly painted lower rocker guards are of decent quality but nothing special, I built this Jeep to drive not to look at.

this jeep was driven for years by a PO with multiple oil leaks, the under side cross member, the cat and everything from there back is wet or "colored" with old oil. All oil leaks have been repaired and I have steamed cleaned twice but a lot of it is still there, call it a rust preventative, lol.

Aside from the above list and some overall to be expected age related normal used Jeep type stuff this is an excellent rig, hard to find this old in this condition and will make someone very happy to own it...

If you are in the Durango CO area and need a quality mechanic, I cannot speak highly enough of Jayson Black owner of Auto Surgeons (25 Flightline Road, Animas Air Park 970 403 5511) He is a master Subaru tech, highly skilled with nearly any vehicle, experienced, honest, he will not waste your money. He has customers that drive all the way from Denver (7 hours 1 way) for work on their cars, he is that good.
