Thanks to a renewed dedication to motorsports, many Corvette enthusiasts regard the Fuel injected C2 roadster as Chevrolet’s purest Corvette design. And that’s very easy to understand given this roadsters small dimensions, purpose-built form and athletic demeanor. Of course, those qualities are best viewed through a beautiful restoration and, fortunately, the guys who reworked this Sting Ray did a fantastic job. Since the previous owner’s goal was to have a classic that’s both striking and functional, he made sure the car’s body was clean, laser-straight and much nicer than any factory-correct original. Once that level of fit and finish was attained, a buttery layer of correct Ermine White(936) basecoat was sealed in glossy clear. And the rest, as they say, is show-stopping history!

Tilt this Corvette’s fiberglass hood and you’ll find a period correct  Fuel Injected 327 V8 which hangs a familiar 3782870 casting number behind a correct “RE” suffix stamp. Introduced as a formidable companion for street prowling Sting Rays, this high performance small block utilizes a Rochester Fuel injected system into 340 horsepower. Below that juice box, a slick aluminum intake 3826810 perfectly complements finned Corvette valve covers. At the back of that Weiand intake 3826810, a chrome-cased ignition shoots spark past correct exhaust manifold 3797902 RH/3797942 LH - via chrome-sleeved wires. And at the front of those manifolds, a radiator circulates water through pliable GM hoses and clamps. Whoever performed the restoration on this Corvette did an wonderful job of creating an attractive, reliable engine bay that is every bit as detailed as the rest of the car. Bright Chevy Orange paint covers the block from its clean oil pan to a stunning overall view and, as always, looks great against GM’s Satin Black bay.

Flip this small block Vette upside down and you’ll find a solid chassis that’s in good shape. A rugged 4-speed,solid floor tubs, which look correct in every way, ride on a straight, solid Black frame. At the corners of those floors, beefy, power brakes mix good handling characteristics with quick and solid stops. At the edges of those brakes, torque flows to the pavement through reproduction turbines, which lap 6.70-15  whitewalls around bright chrome spinners. And everything, from this Corvette’s stainless brake lines to its aluminized dual exhaust system, is fully sorted and ready to roll!

Open this Chevy’s tossable doors and you’ll find a correct Black interior that’s comprised of a nice assimilation of clean and weather-free components. Seating comes courtesy of firm vinyl thrones that are anchored between bright stainless trim and a small chrome shifter. From the driver’s perch, stock gauges bleed onto their bordering panels in a march toward a center-mount clock, correct AM/FM Delco radio and aluminum-trimmed glove box. Below that clock, like-new carpet and predictable chrome sills. Above the stainless-trimmed door panels hang traditional armrests between small black handles, and stylish chrome accents. In front of the driver, a satin-spoked steering wheel spins around a brilliant cross-flag emblem. And behind the passengers, a fully carpeted storage compartment.
