OVERVIEW

I AM A TRUCK GUY. If you follow my listings, you know this to be true. I will go and seek out the nicest trucks I can find, just because I love to drive them for a little bit before selling them!

This truck is a stunner, and the flathead power had me hooked the minute I saw it.

I don’t know that you can find a nicer flatty powered truck for the money than this one, and I have seen a lot of trucks!

Please take a moment to read the detailed listing, look over the 100 extra-large detailed photos, and then call me to make it yours before someone else does it first!

THIS VEHICLE HAS A CLEAN AND CLEAR FLORIDA TITLE IN OUR POSSESSION, AND IS NOT A CONSIGNMENT VEHICLE.

DESCRIPTION

Father/son projects always hit home with me, even though my Dad and I never restored a car. I always enjoyed working on everything from tractors to motorcycles with him, and picked up 80% of my curse word knowledge watching him doggedly try to get a mower strap to align on a PTO pulley on the old Cub Cadet!

This truck was a labor of love for a father and son, and was completed right before the father reluctantly had to park it in the garage, after only getting to put about 150 miles on it.

We purchased the truck, and after having it serviced, inspected, and safety checked, I drove it about 47 more miles before writing this listing.

It is a NICE one. I am a FORD guy, and always hate seeing the Chevy powered F100’s even when I reluctantly buy them! I have had a lot of 302, 351, 460, and even some inline sixes over the years, but only a few flatties. So when I found out that this truck had the original 239ci Flathead it was born with in it, I started to fall in love!

The motor was pulled, and was completely stripped, cleaned, and prepped for a full custom build with H&H Flatheads being the source for installed goods by Navarro, Offenhauser, Isky, and more!

The engine runs like a dang sewing machine, starts right up, idles clean and steady, and doesn’t act finicky AT ALL!

The original FORD-HOLLEY “94” carburetors were completely refurbished and operate flawlessly, while retaining a special “cool factor” among traditionalists at shows who are sick of seeing the same old 97’s on everything!

Offenhauser heads and intake look and function wonderfully, and the motor also has a fair bit of chrome and polished dress-up items on it to impress car-show passerby.

Isky Springs, Manley valves, APR rod nuts, new guide seals, new keepers, new cam and main bearings, new rod bearings, retainers, ISKY Max One cam, and more!

It was a complete redo from bare block out, and it is one of cleanest and coolest running flatheads I have operated in my life.

It does NOT get hot! Whatever magical power they used combined with the performance water pump, custom built fan shroud, oversize fan, new hi-flow radiator, and aluminum hoses all works together to keep this truck at 185 degrees no matter what! I let it run at idle while taking these photos on a 90 degree day, and it sat for a good 35 minutes. It did NOT go over 185!!!! I drove it down to the beach last Sunday for a little car get-together, and got stuck in traffic at noon in the middle of a 95 degree day….. NEVER GOT HIGHER THAN 185!

The fan draws so much air, it dang near pulls birds out of the sky!

Idle is clean and solid right from the start, and it pulls strong in each gear with no odd noises, burbling, flat spots, or issues.

It is a TORQUE MONSTER, and you have to work hard to softly apply the gas pedal from a standstill or you will chirp the tires!

The engine bay itself is amazingly clean, and since the truck was a frame-off built, it got all new-wiring, hoses, clamps, hardware, and was fully painted to match the exterior.

Transmission is a C4 automatic that was rebuilt from the case in with new, stock components and no modifications. It shifts clean through all speeds and does not do anything unusual.

Front end is a cleanly installed MUSTANG II power rack with performance coil-over front suspension and power disc brakes.

It steers and handles fantastic, with none of the slop and alignment issues you get from someone hacking off the front of another car.

Out back, a 10 bolt rear gets the power out to the wheels, with power drum brakes that were clean and adjusted for easy, drag free stops.

The undercarriage is clean and presentable, but the intent of this truck was to be driven, so it is not something you will put on over show mirrors at a Ridler Contest! Take some time to pressure wash the dust and a little road grime off it when you get it home, and it will clean up to look almost as fresh as the rest of the truck does.

Open the doors of this machine, and you are greeted by a completely redone interior that is clean, neat, and ready to welcome you and a passenger for a long haul.

First off, you’ll notice a tremendous amount of room, thanks to the relocation of the gas tank and filler neck. This gives almost 5” more space in the cab, and makes drivers over 6’3” as comfy as those who are under 5’!

The seats are custom cut and finished in a two-tone neutral broadcloth, and they are exceptionally clean and free of any stains, rips, seam pulls, or damage. The driver seat has power functionality for fore and aft, up and down, and recline, while the passenger seat is manually adjustable.

Door panels, center console, headliner, overhead console, kick panels, steering column surround, heater box cover, rear valence panel, visors, and pillar covers are all treated to the same broadcloth material for its longevity and ease of cleaning. All of it shows as new, with no damage, stains, or issues.

This interior is professionally done and installed, and the fit and finish out is extremely good.

A leather shift boot graces the bottom of the LOKAR shifter, and it shifts easily in all gears.

Stainless cut gas and brake pedals were made specifically for the truck, and are one of a kind.

Carpeting is banded, automotive grade with matching banded mats, and it all shows wonderfully with no damage, and only light debris and dirt marks that I didn’t get out when I vacuumed it. Remember, we have NOT detailed this truck, just wiped it down with Turtle Wax quick shine, and vacuumed it out. Just imagine how amazing it will look when you get it home and clean it from front to back!

Door pulls, window rollers, and bright switches all look great and do what they should.

Dash is clean and painted to match the exterior, and has a nice wood-like inlay treatment that shows wonderfully.

Glove box is functional, and has the correct cardboard lining. It has the case for the faceplate of the radio in it.

Ashtray opens as it should, and I have no idea if someone EVER smoked it, but no one has since it was restored.

Center console lifts up to reveal a huge well for storing items. It is big enough to hold a bottle of spray shine, some rags, and whatever else you may to take with you!

The overhead console has two functional map lights, and the AM/FM Cassette player with removable faceplate and digital tuner. The prior owner had a box of his favorite cassettes, and that’s what he wanted, but the wiring and easy access to the head unit will make it easy for you to put in any single DIN steror chassis you want.

It sounds good through the hidden speakers in the cab.

The dash has a billet ball-milled gauge surround that is stuffed with vintage-looking bras VDO gauges for SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER, OIL PRESSURE, WATER TEMPERATURE, VOLTS, and FUEL LEVEL. All of the gauges appear to function as they should, although I do not personally test and certify each gauge for accuracy.

The GM tilt column has been painted to match, and has tilt functionality along with functional signal light arm. Cruise control button is intact, but is not actually connected to anything. Oh, and the high beam switch is on the floor in the stock location, so the turn signal stalk won’t work to switch from high beam to low.

The beautiful 3-spoke slotted steering wheel has a wood rim that looks great in the truck, and is the perfect size too.

The weather stripping, door seals, regulators, window fuzzies, and seals are all still like new, and the truck did not leak a drop inside when I got caught in a rainstorm coming home off the beach.

All of the glass in the truck is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, laminate issues, or damage.

Overall, the interior is still like new, and has no issues to address whatsoever.

The bed of the truck is finished in a beautifully done light wood with side rail trim, show polished strapping, and show polished hardware. It looks amazing, and is still like new.

The bed itself is painted to match the outside, and does have a few light marks and scuff in it that are shown in the photos below.

Tail gate opens with chrome latches, and has stainless cable stops to keep it from falling down too low.

The inside of the tail gate has a few spots where the clear coat was sprayed thin, and it shows clearly in the photo below.

The bright work, chrome, trim, and emblems on the truck look amazing, and most of it has been refurbished, refinished, or replaced.

The bed has side trim that is either chrome or polished stainless, and it looks awesome! The same goes for the top front of the bed where it meets the cab.

The rear roll pan is a custom touch, and has the billet tail lamps installed just above it, and the twin polished exhaust outlets below it.

Up front, a show-chromed bumper holds two functional fog lamps.

The few original items that were not may show very light patina, but nothing that outweighed the originality of keeping them on the truck.

The truck rides on WELD RACING 8-hole rims which have been professionally powder-coated black to resemble NASCAR type wheels. They are all in practically new condition, and show no signs of damage or disrepair.

They are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised white letter tires size 235/60R15 in front, and 295/50R15 in the back. The tires are only a year old or so, and have just 197 miles on them.

The truck has the PERFECT stance, with just a little bit of rake thanks to a suspension lowering kit. It still rides great, and is as stable and comfy in town as it is on the highway.

Finally, the stunning Mercedes-Benz Firemist Red Metallic finish caps off the whole thing!

The paint is glossy, slick, and wet looking, and really shows off the straight panels on the truck from front to back.

The only issue with it is that is has a fair amount of scuffs and marks on it. This is because when the prior owner/builder finished the truck, he only put about 150 miles on before he had to park it for over a year in the garage. Between having a stiff car cover on it, being used as a base for boxes to get placed on, and having people forget it was under the cover when they went past with a bicycle, armload of groceries, or the push mower, it got a few marks.

A lot of these will probably buff out when you finally get the truck home and detail it. I know that the Turtle Wax quick-shine I used to wipe it down with prior taking the photos you see below actually took out a lot of them.

I am not trying to scare you away from the truck by any means, I am just letting you know that even though this is a fresh build, fresh paint job, and it still looks amazing, when you get up close you will notice the light little marks and things I am talking about. If you have a buffer and did a light wet sand and polish, I bet most of them would no longer be worth mentioning.

I have taken over 100 photos of this truck and put them below. Take a close look, and if you want more, just call me. I will gladly provide whatever you need, including video, for seriously interested parties.

Again, I don’t want to frighten you, because the truck still stands tall and could probably snag an award for paint at a lot of local car shows, but with the rest of the truck at 100%, the small imperfections on the exterior from storage bring it down to an 88% on exterior. Just want you to know what you are getting.

It starts, runs, stops, and drives fantastic! It does not exhibit any issues, and I can’t find any real faults to address or forward to you.

I have only had the chance to drive this one about 47 miles, but they were issue-free and covered about 9 miles on the interstate and the rest in town.

You can fly in and drive home if you want to have the experience and understand that it has not gone on a long trip like that yet so expect the unexpected!  I can also assist in arranging quality, inexpensive transport, as we ship vehicles all across the globe on a monthly basis.
