September 1975, Jaguar introduced a completely new and radically different two door sports coupe'. A step away from the XKE from the 1960's, the XJ-S was introduced as a high performance luxury 4 place Grand Touring Coupe' to compete with the Aston Martin V8 Coupe', the Mercedes-Benz SL and the Porsche 928. Introduced in the 70's and carried on through the 80's and 90’s, the XJ-S carried Jaguar's prestigious V12 engine at the front, right up to the much anticipated launch of the official in house convertible. The XJS Convertible was an instant success and added a traditional open air motoring pleasure to the XJS lineup. The V-12 was just the right balance of power and agility with ultra rare smoothness only seen on the highest level of automobiles. The XJS continued on to be one of Jaguar’s longest lived and successful models and has become an instant classic.

European Motor Studio is proud to offer this gorgeous 1996 Jaguar XJS Celebration Edition Convertible finished in a rare color combination of Black over Warm Charcoal hides and a Black canvas top. This Celebration Edition XJS left the Coventry Browns factory in August of 1995 and was then invoiced to Jaguar Cars North America. The car was then sent to Jaguar in Massachusetts where it was leased by its first owner on September 15, 1996. The first owner bought the car out of the lease in April of 2000 and then sold the car to the second owner in June of 2001 when the second owner took the car to Los Angeles California where it has been ever since. This XJS is the Celebration Edition which marks the end of a long run of very traditional Jaguar’s GT cars. 1996 was the final year for the XJS and some say the very end of an era. The Celebration Edition XJS was fitted with contrasting piping on the leather upholstery with Jaguar leapers embossed in the headrests, a wood and leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and Diamond turned slotted Aerosport wheels. This XJS has a beautiful Black paint finish and free from any sun fade or clear coat peeling. There are no major scratches and no damage to the body anywhere. The car is free from any rust or corrosion and any signs of accident damage. There are only a few tiny stone chips in the front nose and one hairline crack in the lower portion of the front skirt which is hardly noticeable. All of the exterior chrome and trim is in excellent condition showing very minimal age and the car has a brand new set of tires on all four corners. The original Jaguar chrome wheels are in excellent condition and unmarked. The original Warm Charcoal leather interior still shows beautifully with excellent patina and very light creasing on the front seats. The back seats show no wear whatsoever (there are two spots on the back of the rear headrests where the convertible top comes down that have tears). The switch gear and the interior chrome and trim all look to be in excellent condition with minimal wear. The convertible top is in excellent condition and shows no signs of wear on either the top or the headliner. All of the mechanicals are in excellent condition, the car starts right up and idles incredibly smooth and quiet. This XJS does not smoke or leak and is silky smooth under acceleration. The transmission shifts through all of the gears with ease and does not grind or clunk. The brakes feel excellent and solid and do not show any signs of fade or grinding. The suspension both front and rear is in excellent condition and is very smooth and tight free from any noises or thumping. The steering is very solid and tight and does not drift or pull to any side. All of the electronics in the car are working properly, the interior lights, all of the exterior lights, dash lights, AC, heater, power windows, power door locks, windshield wipers, driver and passenger seats, original Jaguar remote, convertible top and rear windows are all functioning as designed. The original Jaguar Alpine sound system is still in the car and operating as designed along with the original Jaguar power antenna. The car comes with its original leather convertible top boot with its original bag, Jaguar spare tire and original jack in its original bag and the original drivers handbook. This XJS comes with a clean and clear box A actual miles title.
