 This 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer was acquired by the Bartlett Police Department in 2009 and used as a special use vehicle. The vehicle has 120,781 miles on the odometer. The Bartlett Police Department has all the service records since October 2009. The maintenance records are available upon request.

The Bartlett Police Department requested a Carfax report prior to October 2009 and the results are as follows:

• June 10, 2005      Accident reported.
• January 04, 2006 Accident reported.
• March 07, 2007   Accident reported total loss.
• March 07,2007    Salvage Title/Certificate issued.
• April 24, 2008     Rebuilt Title issued.
• July 15, 2008      Rebuilt Title issued.
• March 04, 2009   Rebuilt Title issued. 

The Carfax report will be included with the title.

This vehicle will need to be towed to destination because mechanical deficiencies and safety concerns.

This vehicle is in fair condition. The engine runs very well.  This vehicle operates in 2W drive, All wheel drive, 4W high drive and 4W low drive. All drive positions work.

The vehicle up for auction has been inspected. The inspection revealed a number of problems. The heater/air condition fan does not work on high speed. All four wheel brake calipers, pads and rotors have to be replaced. Needs an oil change. Coolant should be flushed. Radiator hoses are weak. Right front wheel bearing needs replacing. Three tires need to be replaced.

The outside of the vehicle has clear coat peeling in numerous places. Some rust on engine hood and driver side rocker panel. Front bumper cover is loose. A dent on the passenger’s side rear wheel well.

The interior is in good condition. The front seats are in very good condition. Rear seats very good condition. Carpet is in fair condition. Head liner is in excellent condition. The center console has a small crack (see photo). This vehicle is capable of ONStar service.

We have attempted to photograph all of the flaws and encourage you to stop by to view or to test drive the vehicle. 

The vehicle title will be provided to the new owner.  

If vehicle is to be driven from seller’s location, Illinois law requires the new owner to have current registration and insurance on the vehicle. A temporary registration permit can be obtained from any Illinois Secretary of State office. 

This vehicle is sold "as-is" and there is no warranty.

Consideration of Bid.  Village of Bartlett reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to withdraw from sale any of the Personal Property listed.

Buyer’s Certificate.  Successful bidders will receive a notice by email from e-bay (the “Notice”).

Payment.   Payment in full is due not later than five (5) business days from the time and date of the Notice.  Acceptable forms of payment are:

• Cash (U.S. currency)
• Certified Check (Non-cancelable, with Letter of Certified Funds from bank)
• Money Order
• Cashiers Check

Checks shall be made payable to Village of Bartlett.  Payments shall be made at the location indicated by the Village.

Removal.   All items must be removed within ten (10) business days from the time and date of issuance of the Notice.  Purchases will be released only upon receipt of payment as specified above.  Successful bidders are responsible for removal of any and all property awarded to them from the place where the property is located as indicated on the website.  The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, for removal of the property.  Under no circumstances will the Village of Bartlett assume responsibility for delivery.  Property may be removed between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays by prior appointment only.  Please contact Geoffrey Pretkelis: 630-837-0846 office, 630-837-0805 fax, or e-mail:  gpretkelis@vbartlett.org, regarding scheduling payment for and pick up of Personal Property.

Vehicles of Titles.   Seller will issue a title or certificate upon receipt of payment.  Titles may be subject to any restrictions as indicated in the item description on the website.  Open titles cannot be issued.  The Village of Bartlett will not issue replacement titles.

Default.   Default by Buyer shall include (1) failure by Buyer to observe these terms and conditions; (2) failure to make good and timely payment; or (3) failure to remove all items within the specified time.  If the Buyer fails in the performance of any obligation hereunder, as provided herein, Seller may terminate this Agreement and shall be entitled to all rights and remedies as are provided by law and/or equity, including attorney’s fees and court costs.  Seller reserves the right to reclaim and resell all items not removed by Buyer upon the expiration of the specified removal date.

State/Local Sales and/or Use Tax.  Buyers may be subject to payment of State and/or local sales and/or use tax.  Buyers are responsible for contacting the appropriate tax office, completing any forms, and paying any taxes that may be imposed.

Deposit of five hundred dollars must be paid within seven days of the close of the auction. The payment must be either cashier's check or money order paid to "The Village of Bartlett".
