Lifted 1989 Ford Bronco XLT 351 Automatic
Description:

I purchased this Bronco in 2008 with approximately 93,000 miles on it. Since then, it has been babied, and a tremendous amount of work has been put into it. The oil has been changed every spring, and it has been barn stored all winter and most days in the summer. Last year, I started to prepare the Bronco for a new coat of paint, but was unable to find the time, and at this point I regrettably feel that it is best to find my baby a new home, where it can get some attention and use as opposed to sitting in a barn.

The interior is in very good condition, with a couple stains as I have not been able to shampoo it, but no rips or tears. It has been a non smoking vehicle since I have owned it, and there are no signs the previous owners smoked in it. All of the lights, gauges and electronics, including the power locks and windows, function properly. When I bought it it had the factory sound system, and was soon replaced with a high end Alpine system, which still sounds great.

The Bronco has a 3" body lift with a 2" suspension lift, complete with BFG tires and powder coated Cregar wheels. It has full true dual exhaust, the headers being two years old. Otherwise it is completely OEM. Mechanically, the Bronco has been put through an extensive amount of work. Within the last 5,000 miles or so, it has had new brakes, a new radiator, new distributor, complete tune- up, new tires, new wheels, some steering work, new shocks, new springs, new radiator hoses and much much more. This spring I have replaced the engine mounts, steering column, driver's side window tracks and motor, and had a new temp gauge installed. The engine runs strong, the transmission, which has a shift kit, shifts great, and it drives straight down the road. While getting an oil change a few weeks ago, my mechanic gave the ball joints and tie rods an A+, and was able to correct a bit of highway sway with an adjustment of the steering stabilizer. The only issues that the Bronco has is an exhaust leak caused by a bad manifold gasket on the driver's side, and a very slight oil leak coming from the main seal. I have never had to add oil, and it would have to sit for a few weeks before causing any noticeable oil stain on the ground.

Last spring I replaced the factory hard top with a very expensive and hard to find soft top, that I managed to find new. I no longer have the hard top, but the rear window, along with the rear defrost, does work. The body is in comparably good shape, outside of needing paint. There are a few very small and easy to repair spots of corrosion, including some holes on the roof where a sun visor had been installed. Along with the manifold gaske, the Bronco comes with a new headlight assembly, new ultra white headlights, new grill, new lug nuts, and some other various parts. In addition to saving me time and saving you money, I decided to sell without painting it to give its new owner the choice of a glossy show truck paint job, or a one coat trail ready paint job. This Bronco would be the perfect starting place for someone who was looking to go either direction.

As the last year has progressed, the exhaust leak is becoming more than "slight," but does seem to be the gasket, like I said the headers are almost brand new. I noticed while driving it today that the temp gauge has decided not to work anymore. Also, there is a very slight oil leak, appears to be coming from the main seal. Started after I bought the Bronco, never had to add oil, probably leaks less than any other 1989 domestic vehicle, but I thought I'd point it out anyway just in case anyone thought they might find an original 89 351 without a really small oil leak. I wish you luck.
