Campbell, Debtor, pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division, as Case No. 12-45422, we will sell the following described vehicles on behalf of the Bankruptcy Trustee, free and clear of all liens, claims, encumbrances and interests, with all such liens, claims, encumbrances and interests to attach to the proceeds of sale in accordance with §363(b) and §363(f) of the Bankruptcy Code:

1989 Pontiac Turbo Trans Am - 20^th Anniversary Pace Car Edition

This legendary package was offered by Pontiac for 1 year with only 1,555 cars produced. Built as the pace car for the 73^rd running of the Indy 500, this exclusive car was offered in a limited run to encourage its collectivity and also given to the Indy 500 winner, Emerson Fittipaldi. This car appears complete with some minor modifications. The exterior of this TTA is in beautiful condition for it's age.

The paint on this TTA is deep and glossy with little damage throughout. Noted imperfections are a scratch on the drivers door at roughly 13” long, bubbling and cracking on the rear spoiler, scratches and chips on the underside of the front bumper, and various chips and dings from use throughout. Overall the exterior shows very clean and straight. The wheels are near perfect with nice BF Goodrich tires with between 7/32 and 9/32 of tread life. The emblems and decals appear to all be in tact and are all very nice. The door handle decals are present and look excellent. The doors, hood, and trunk all open and close nicely and appear to have nice equal gaps throughout. The T-tops are in very nice condition as well as the rubber seals that surround them. The windows are tinted all around and the T-Top shrouds are present.

Inward the tan leather seats are in near new condition, showing very little wear. The dashboard, all gauges, and # placard are also in great shape. The all original floor mats are present along with the original head unit and a custom aftermarket subwoofer located in the T-Top storage well. Power windows, seats, locks, and mirrors are all in working condition. There is an aftermarket A-Pillar with gauges installed on the drives side. The carpets look clean and minimally worn and the interior smells good. The inside door jambs look clean and show nicely, along with the door sills. The AC kicks on and blows nice and cold. We did notice a couple of aftermarket accessory switches, one inside the console, and a dimmer switch that was fabbed into the cigarette lighter. These may be associated with the aftermarket stereo system.

GM wanted to make a limited build pace car and needed a good power plant to do so. Never wanting to out perform the Corvette, Pontiac looked to Buick to furnish the firepower for the T/A. Pontiac started with the Grand National 3.8 liter turbo V6, and modified the heads to fit the motor between the strut towers. These heads, adapted from the transverse FWD version of the 3.8 liter motor, have the added benefit of improved exhaust flow and combustion chamber design. Subsequently, different pistons were required in order to maintain combustion chamber volume. Other changes to the TTA motor are a cross drilled crank, larger 12 fin/inch GNX style inter-cooler, specially designed stainless headers, higher-pressure Bosch 237 fuel pressure regulator, and a recalibrated engine control module. All these changes combined to make the TTA one fast collector car!! The 1LE racing brake package which upgrades the front discs to 12 inch police rotors, Corvette twin piston aluminum calipers and semi-metallic pads was also included. The rear discs were also increased to 12 inches in 1989 and use Corvette single piston calipers. All of the brakes on the car are of a quick change design, and pads can actually be changed in 30 seconds. The motor and drive train all seem to be in good working condition. The brakes appear to have good life left as well as the tires. The gold wheels look straight and free of oxidation. A little bit of noise was noted at the front suspension when pulling the vehicle into tight parking spots. The car idles smooth and revs nicely, falling back down to a clean idle. There is a good brake pedal when applying pressure to stop. The transmission bumps lightly going in drive from park as well as reverse. More than likely this is due to a higher idle RPM. It seems to shift through the gears nice and smooth. Based on the window sticker the oil change is up to date based on mileage alone.

Although this car starts right up and appears to run well, it will need to be thoroughly inspected before hitting the road because it's been sitting in storage.

Payment: A 10% deposit is required within 48 hours of auctions close. The balance of the full payment is due within 7 business days and must be made by wire transfer or certified funds. Vehicle will not be released until all funds have cleared and all paperwork is complete.
