After the introduction in 1965 of the Silver Shadow and T-Series cars from Rolls Royce and Bentley, the company announced a drop head and fixed head two door version. The Silver Shadow Drop Head Coupe and Fixed Head Coupe were on the same platform as the existing sedan and were built by H.J Mulliner Park Ward as a very exclusive personal luxury car. For 1971 new revisions were made to the car along with the introduction of the Corniche name; which is a French and Italian meaning for a coastal road. The already familiar 6.75 litre V8 engine was used in the new Corniche along with the robust GM Turbo Hydramatic 3-speed transmission. Four wheel independent suspension, hydraulic leveling suspension and four wheel ventilated disc brakes were all standard and new on the Corniche. The Corniche sold well alongside the Saloon variants and a total of 4,329 Corniche’s had been built before the introduction of the Corniche II for model year 1986. The Corniche II featured a new engine management system and a revised hydraulic suspension that improved the ride and performance of the car. The Corniche II also received an interior revision for model year 1988 and anti lock brakes, giving the Corniche a more modern feel. A total of 1,234 Corniche II’ s were produced between 1986 and 1989.  

European Motor Studio is proud to offer this exceptional 1989 Rolls Royce Corniche II Convertible finished in a stunning Acrylic White over Parchment Connolly Hides with Tan contrasting piping, Fawn carpets and a Tan colored Everflex convertible top. This Corniche left the Mulliner Park Ward facility in April of 1989 and invoiced to Rolls Royce North America. The car was shipped to Newport Auto Center in Newport Beach California and sold to its first owner in the Summer of 1989. The car lived in southern California until its first owner moved the car to Palm Beach Florida in 1992. This Corniche II has lived in Florida almost its entire life and has traveled only 20,900 miles from brand new. The Corniche II has always been serviced regularly and has always been dealer maintained. The car has never been involved in an accident and comes with a clean and clear title and car fax with box A certified miles. The beautiful Acrylic White paint is 100% factory original and has absolutely no signs of ever being repainted or touched up. There are no dents, dings, scratches or marks on the car (three tiny hairline cracks in the lacquer paint around the passenger windshield) and all of the chrome and trim are near showroom condition. The windshield appears to be the original glass and does not have any cracks or markings anywhere on the glass. The interior is stunning finished in rich Parchment Hides with the contrasting Tan piping. The leather is still very soft and supple and only shows very light creasing on the drivers seat. The passenger seat and the back seat show almost no wear at all and the carpets are in excellent condition showing very minimal use. All of the leather trim, lower and upper dashboard leather and door panels looks superb and look almost new. The wood on the car looks almost brand and still retains its deep red/brown color as it left the factory. There is one tiny hairline crack in the lower console area right by the drivers power seat switch and one hairline crack next to the AC vent. All of the door wood rails look excellent and all of the wood in the back seat including the wood tray tables still look outstanding. The Everflex convertible top looks beautiful and only shows slight folding marks when in the upright position. All of the electronics are in proper working order, all of the exterior and interior lights are illuminating, the A/C works as it should, the power seats, heated seats, all fur power windows, locks, mirrors, convertible top and power antenna are all functioning. The car starts right up and idles beautifully. It does not smoke or leak any fluids and shifts into gear with ease. This Corniche II accelerates beautifully and is free from any vibrations or play in the wheel. The brakes feel very solid and smooth and do not show any signs of grinding or fade. The suspension is very taut and smooth and all the hydraulics appears to functioning as designed. The car will raise itself up properly once started cold and does not show any sign of issues. This Corniche II comes with all of its original owners manuals, warranty books, service books, dealer books, radio and telephone books and still retains its original Rolls Royce leather case. The car also comes complete with its original Rolls Royce tool kit, jack and jack tools, road hazard stand and even the original Rolls Royce instructional cassette and cassette cleaner.
