1930 Ford Model A Tudor

This rust-free, original 1930 Model A received a full professional frame-off, bumper-to-bumper restoration in 2010. It was restored to make a top-of-the-line tour car that is safe and comfortable for use on 21st century highways, yet look entirely stock. Here is what was done:

Engine: Original 4 cylinder Ford (#A3350153) was completely rebuilt with new matching rods and pistons. Brumfield 6:1 high-compression cylinder head. Stainless steel adjustable valves with hardened valve seats for modern fuels. Weber downdraft carburetor with electric fuel pump. FS Electronic distributor with centrifugal advance. FS High Energy Coil. Cast iron, modern exhaust system. Modern, leakless water pump. Radiator cleaned. Modern high-flow, 6 blade fan, Fan shroud. Alternator (6 volt). Optima Battery. Master battery disconnect switch. Stock gauge cluster on the dashboard (Gas/Amp/Speedometer/Odometer) with the addition of a modern Low-RPM Tachometer, Vacuum Gauge, Oil Pressure Gauge and Water Temperature Gauge.

Transmission: Rebuilt original Ford 3-speed transmission. New clutch and throw-out bearing. Borg-Warner electric in-line OVERDRIVE ADDED. Switched on dashboard. Kicks-down at 40 mph with approximately a 25% reduction in engine rpm.

Wheels and Tires: Stock Ford A 19" wheels - powder coated Ford Straw Yellow. Correct Goodyear blackwall tires.

Chassis: Rebuilt front-end. Stock Shock Absorbers. Short Pittman Arm. Anti-Shimmy Shock Absorber. Stock Brakes with floaters by "Flat Head Ted."

Body: Fully rebuilt original Ford body, repainted in two-tone combination of 1930 Ford Chicle Drab and Stone Brown with Black fenders. Straw pinstripe. Paint is excellent with a deep shine and no flaws. New long-grain top. New lightly-tinted glass. New carpet. Original-style LeBaron-Bonney interior. Custom-made period style sliding rear luggage rack with suitcases included. Front-mounted black tool box hidden below the radiator and behind the front bumper for service parts when touring.

Lights: Stock 6-volt system. Stock Headlights, Parking Lights and Dash Lights. Bright LED Tail Lights and Turn Signals added for safety in modern traffic.

This car has been driven approximately 8,500 miles since completion and runs without fault. It's truly the best of both worlds: A classic 1930 Model A with upgrades for modern safety and reliability. Cruises at 60 mph and easily keeps up with modern freeway traffic.

A realistic reserve has been placed on this car, much less than the cost of restoration. Somebody is going to get a bargain.
