PRIMARY RESTORATION OBJECTIVE…was to have a very reliable classic to drive for sheer pleasure and to shows.  Reliable and pleasurable touring was an absolute must, and was solidly achieved.  Overall, this is the ideal “drive and show” car.  It is in excellent overall condition, but not “over-restored” to the point where it can no longer be enjoyed as an automobile. INVESTMENT POTENTIAL...on this beautiful 1959 Impala Convertible is of the “Blue Chip” variety.  No decade expressed American optimism and glamour better than the 1950s.  And NO year was as glamorous as 1959 when General Motors – stunned by the introduction and success of Chrysler’s “Forward Look” 1957 range – thundered their response in 1959 with completely new bodies for ALL of GM’s nameplates.  Most important to “get right” was Chevrolet…GM’s volume leader.  And “get it right” they did with a dramatically styled rear deck and “teardrop” design that was never upstaged by any rival. Many of the most desirable cars of the 1950s are already well into six-digits (e.g. a 1954 Buick Skylark owner recently was asking $180,000 for his car). There are very few solid 1959 Chevrolets left…far fewer convertibles…and far fewer convertibles with the Continental Kit and 348 Tri-Power. There’s probably no better bet for the “six-digit” value club over the next ten years than this fabulous convertible.
