During the Firehawk-ification, the innocent G8 GT will receive an SLP TVS 1900 500-hp Series supercharger similar to the unit found on the mighty Corvette ZR1. Matched with an SLP Blackwing Cold Air Induction kit and an SLP PowerFlo stainless steel exhaust system, the Firehawk should lay down 500 hp, which SLP says will be good for a 4.3-second 0 to 60 time and a 12.6-second quarter-mile at 115 mph. Each G8 Firehawk will be dyno-tuned before it leaves SLP.

Also included in the Firehawk package is an SLP Sport Suspension Package, Firehawk 19-in. five-spoke wheels in gunmetal gray, Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position tires and a host of cosmetic upgrades including an SLP rear spoiler painted flat-black, a flat-black hood meant to be reminiscent of muscle cars of old, flat-black grille-surrounds, a body-color painted lower fascia grille and plenty of Firehawk badges. Inside, you’ll get a faux-leather portfolio, special floor mats, embroidered head rests, a numbered dash plaque and two key fobs. Every Firehawk will also come with a birth certificate and a special car cover. A Competition Brake Package is optional.

While SLP’s upgrades are impressive, the rumored prices are a bit steep. On top of the $32,440 MSRP for a new G8 GT, Firehawk owners will reportedly need to pony-up $18,995 for the package, plus another $4,995 if they want the option brake package. Those numbers, however, are subject to change as they have not been officially announced by SLP. Aside from the hefty price tag, we can’t help but notice that this supercharged Firehawk will be built on the G8 GT, which only comes with an automatic transmission, albeit one with manual-shifting ability. Fully optioned out, the Firehawk could break the bank at nearly $60,000 if the reported pricing is accurate. Like the Firebird before it, the G8 will be available to order through Pontiac dealerships or can be picked up at SLP’s shop."
